“This is not the typical Fort Lee joint. Kuba's layout is spacious and you did not feel crowded. The menu was a diverse in approach and well thought out. The food itself was well prepared, great portions and very well presented. THe wait and service staff were very friendly and accommodating. Plus it was Mother's Day so the place was hopping. “I was in my old stomping ground this morning and figured I'd try a local place for my quest if Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese. You had the login to add a hash brown, which of course I did. First of all, the egg was scrambled, which I was kind of digging.... gave it a nice, fluffy texture. Taylor ham was above average but the cheese..... there was something different to it. I couldn't put my thumb on it. Was a little creamy... I should've paid attention while he was making it. I also got the home fries which were ok. Nothing crazy. Just potatoes and a few chips green and red pepper. Service was excellent. Definitely better than what I get in my neck of the woods... So good job Fort Lee, you represented strong this morning.“

“We really enjoyed our lunch at Bistro 38. It was not too busy so the noise level was good. All of our food was delicious but most memorable was the guacamole with plantain chips. We'd never had these chips before and they were a perfect (and healthier) vehicle for the guac. The guac was great and we're from California, home of the avocado, so we should know! “Cuban restaurant in Bergenfield, NJ Cuban family restaurant in New Jersey with ample parking space. My wife and I were greeted and served with great kindness by an efficient and bilingual staff. The restaurant is spacious, and its ambiance is refined. Its décor combines a display of original works by Cuban painters and Oriental vases. The menu, prepared by a Cuban chef, is diverse, with various starters, main courses, and desserts. As main course I ordered lacón, the kind I remembered eating in Cuba, which is not easy to find in New York. My wife had sea bass. Our dishes were all very good. We were very pleased. My wife favorite was a starter called “Discovery”. I particularly enjoyed the flan. Our only recommendation has to do with the music, which was only Salsa while we were there. In our opinion, the addition of other types of Cuban music could enhance the experience. The owners do not have a liquor license yet. Forewarned, we were able to bring our own bottle of wine. We had a great time. Highly recommended.“

The first gentleman saw me and proceeded to help other customers who came after me. When the second gentleman finally arrived, he proceeded to tell me to validate my card myself at the machine. I thought that was dismissive and didn't align with how well everyone else at Son Cubano treated us.“

I don't like having to hear private conversations of other diners. Either expand the place or minimize the seating. This is an issue at ALL their locations. “The restaurant is small but the ambiance is wonderful. The establishments location is a bit harder to find parking but thankfully they offer valet. The appetizers are portioned well for the price and delightful to your taste buds. Make sure you make reservations on a Saturday evening. Thankfully the management was able to squeeze us in for a last minute walk in which was truly appreciated knowing our end. The customer service is pleasant and they made sure they accommodated to their customers well. Just a side note currently the restaurant doesn’t serve liquor but is byob. They do offer mojito and sangria mixes.“

“My boyfriend loves red snapper so I am consistently seeking places that serve it - on the bone where possible. We just so happened to be in the area when I found it on the menu. Went once and now regularly drive an hour just to come here for the red snapper and Pollo al ajillo which is my favorite (huge garlic fan). There is only one thing management can do to make it even better. The restaurant gets really crowded with very vocal patrons, which is fine, but the music is so loud (in a very small space) that you can’t talk without shouting to your dinner companions. If the music was kept lower, instead of super loud, people could enjoy both the meal and the company of their dinner companions, and would make for a perfect evening.“

(There are two kinds, plain and orange. Both were delicious.)The only caveat is watch out for the tip. They added 20% to the bill, but on the credit card receipt, they didn't mention that the tip had already been added. Instead, they had ADDITIONAL suggested tips to choose from without mentioning they were additional. Somewhat misleading, I'd say.Except for that, everything was great, and I'll probably be back. “A big shout out to my best latin place in Hoboken: Chango Kitchen. Traditional yummy latin dishes. Our faves are churrasco con chimichurri (skirt steakgrilled) and ropa vieja (shredded beef). My kids loved "alfajores with dulce de leche", "tres leches" and hot chocolate with when it's cold outside. Service is warm and friendly. We can visit the place multiple times and never get tired. #supportlocal“
