“I met a couple of my old coworkers there December 20th after 4 years. I wanted to go to a highly rated family-run place and this establishment didn't disappoint. The burgers, meatloaf and pita wraps were excellent. The owner Vinnie greeted us and seated us, then came by to chat with us. The server was attentive and seemed to like her job. About a 15 - 20 minute walk from the Harrison PATH station. I will be making future visits there with old collegues.“

“This restaurant is very nice. To start, it's a great place to go before an event at the Red Bull Arena. It's very close only about 3-4 blocks away from the stadium. The atmosphere in the restaurant is very nice with quiet music playing and nice tables spaced out so you won't be cramped next to someone. They have outside seating for a nice summer day with a tent over the outside seating to stay cool. You won't be having any problems with the service because it is great! They have a bar so you can stop by and get a drink with your friends. There are lots of options on the menu and happy hour everyday from 5-7:30. Now for the food. The food is great! The food came out fast and hot. We ordered the chicken strips, crab cake, and the flatbed pizza. We also got the calamari the was amazing! The price is also very reasonable. Overall I would suggest this restaurant if you want some dinner and you are near Harrison.“

“chill spot in Newark. good music and not too crowded with people. the good was typical bar food for the drunks but who cares, it was still great food for a small sit down spot. also, if you take care of the bartenders, they take care of you ? will def be coming back!“

“The staff here is on point; they are friendly and attentive (but not overbearing). Lovely experience in terms of ambience and service. Only one small issue: my quesadilla was very greasy - but that's not a condemnation of the restaurant as a whole. I will definitely go back (and order something else). “Been here for Eagles games. It definitely gets crowded for those but you’re not going to an Eagles bar during a game to sit in silence.Came here for the UEFA Champions League semi. Finally got the roast pork sandwich and it was awesome! The meat and broccoli rabe were very tasty on a slightly crusty soft roll.“

“Went to the Linwood while visiting family from out of state on a Friday night. I grew up in Linden so I was excited to see how the place has "grown up". Nicer bar, cleaner and comfortable sitting areas than my youth and MUCH better food. Service was excellent and food came out quickly. It was a descent portion and very tasty. My only complaint was the cost but that cannot be helped since the cost of everything has risen. However, $18 for a chicken sandwich seems a bit high.“

“Could not be a bigger fan. Good food and great happy hour deals. They pretty much have something fun for every night of the week. Service is quick and the staff is super friendly. We can bring cake and if you’re lucky we’ll treat you to some sweet sounds :-) if not coming on a Tuesday after 10pm, the sandwiches are fabulous (the roast beef OMG) and all the bartenders are great, but Corrie is simply the best!“

We dined upstairs, they had music which is something they are planning to do on occasions throughout the winter. The owners are incredibly nice, our waitress was so sweet & super attentive. “An out-of-the-way Bayonne classic with a great bar pie. Worth the trip. The ambiance is somewhere in between dive bar and casual local spot. It pays homage to its past (the old jukebox is in tact even though its been disconnected, which I appreciate) but also has been updated as needed over the years. The staff is friendly, and if you go more than once they start to remember your drink order and you get a warm greeting. We've had the regular bar pie more than once, but this time we went with the sausage pie. The pies here are thin, but not too thin, and very tasty. As of now, its my favorite bar pie in Bayonne. The sides ranged from okay to good. We got the fried pickles (ok), the cheesesteak eggrolls (good) and the buffalo shrimp (good). I can also vouch for their wings being very good, and their pierogies are also.“

“We recently held a memorial service for my father at The Old Canal Inn. Mark and his staff were professional, detail oriented, and kind. The food and atmosphere were incredible. They welcomed us and our guests like family. My dad loved to go there for a beer and I understand why. I will visit there every time I am back in the area from Massachusetts. “I have been here a few times and I mean it is a typical pub like any other. It's pretty clean and it can get full. I had their burger one drunken night and I knew it was good but I didn't quite remember it. So today my husband and I got their burger again and HOLY, it is one of the best I have had in JC. My husband actually told the bartender the story about how we tried a hyped up burger in the area and it was so so and she actually told the owner about it and he made us the burger from scratch. This place is very JC and they have such great service and food!“

“I wanted to try the local bar for a while now. I absolutely loved it there. I went on a Thursday since weekends they get crazy mobbed. My sister and I had 4 drinks in total. 3 cocktails and one draft beer. We split an order of wings and she had the clams in garlic sauce and I opted for a picadinho which is one of the best ones I've had, by far. We paid about $120 with tip and thats the only reason for the 4 star. Its a bit expensive for a local bar. Unless of course their looking to be more than just a local bar.“

“Usually when you visit neighborhood bars, the locals at the bar kind of push away newcomers. Not this place, this place was very warmly and welcoming to myself and my fiancée. We came all the way from Avenel. We both got tired of frequenting the locations over there. We found Joes on accident. From the time we walked in the patrons and the staff were very accommodating. And it brings me back in time, because bars like this are hard to come by. I always love a bar where the American workforce come after a long day of work to have a cold beer.
