“My family and I ate at Sophia's for Mother's Day. Originally, we were a party of 6, but then we had unexpected guests arrive from out of town and Sophia's was kind enough to accommodate them without much notice! The service was impeccable! The food was sensational, very authentic and cooked to perfection. We were lucky enough to be served by Tony who was very attentive without being hovering. He was also funny, willing to take pictures for us and if you ask, he'll flex his muscles for you! The wait staff was friendly, everybody seemed happy to be there. I would recommend this restaurant highly, it was one of the best dining experiences I have had in a long time!“

We opted to sit at the bar instead of our table, the bartender Vassilios was awesome with drinks and menu recommendations.We tried a bunch of appetizers- the tirokafteri and the octopus were our favorite (definitely get those!), but everything we tried was delicious. For dinner our favorite was the lamb chops which were outstanding.Definitely a great addition to the neighborhood and worth a visit.“

The cocktail menu is fabulous, the drinks were inventive, delicious, and presented beautifully. Bartenders were helpful, friendly, and made sure we loved our cocktails. Dinner was delicious! We were a group of four and shared a Greek salad, grilled octopus, lamb chops, and Branzino. Everything was incredible, with plenty for 4. Our waiter kept an eye on us and made sure we were well taken care of. The restaurant is very attractive inside, had a nice crowd, and noise level was good even when very full. We will be back, and often. Prices are very fair. The staff here are really great, makes a difference!“

“Really excellent Greek place. This is the second time I’ve visited and I’ve been impressed on both occasions by the lovely food. The tuna-salmon carpaccio is gorgeous and so good I regretted having to share it. The ink risotto and the sea bass with gnocchi are both wonderful—the gnocchi is so crispy! And for dessert we had the orange cake, which is packed with citrus flavor. Atmosphere is relaxed and friendly.“

“I have been a fan of Souvlaki GR for many years . Prices are reasonable and food is excellent. Our favs over the years have been lamb chops, lemon potatoes , meatballs , Greek salad , and of course pita wraps. Today, after our meal, on the way out, I asked them to get me baklava as take out . I got home and I am stunned to see how small the portion is for $12 bucks . I know inflation is hurting everyone but I think this is such a shame . Very disappointed . Nyc restaurants are increasingly becoming obnoxious . Please be better .“

“We had the pleasure of dining at Eleni's Saturday night and it was a wonderful evening. The hostess Sren started the evening on a high note because of her warmth and friendliness. Unfortunately, my reservation had been lost when I did it on Google, but she could not have been more accommodating. She gave us a table that we could spend two hours at without being rushed. The grilled calamari, octopus, and appetizer of dips were all exceptional, as was the waitress we had. Both the waitress and Sren made a point of coming over during the meal to ensure that we were pleased with everything. The ambiance is lovely and is very inviting. The branzino was was charred perfectly, retaining the perfect flakiness and moistness of the fish fillet. Cap it off with baklava and Turkish coffee. They won’t rush you here. “I stopped off here as a matter of convenience--it was right down the street from the McKittrick Hotel, where I was going for another stab at the soon-to-close "Sleep No More." This restaurant is mostly Greek, maybe Greek fusion. They have a whole section of smash burgers (feta zest, Swiss mushroom, American bacon, cheddar pepper), as well as sandwiches like baby back rib-wich and fried chicken. They also have lamb chops, skirt steak skewers, moussaka, pasta Santorini, and a section of "ocean bites," or halibut skewers, eight-hour octopus, calamari, and coconut shrimp. I chose the Hellenic BBQ from the entree section. This dish is pricier, 52 dollars, and is served with either steak, lamb chops, halibut, or jumbo shrimp. It is accompanied by grilled zucchini and cauliflower and Greek fries. I chose the steak, medium. While a little fatty, the flavors were AWESOME! I don't know what kind of seasoning they used, but it was delicious and unusual. The cauliflower and zucchini were grilled perfectly. And while I am not a shoestring fry fan, these were seasoned well and were REAL Greek fries. They were more than just fries with feta thrown on top. The food: excellent. The drinks weren't the best I've ever had. The basil gimlet was a little sweet. The mastiha mint was essentially a mojito, but not bad. The Prosecco crush was pretty good. I am not regretful I had these drinks, but come here for the food and atmosphere, save the drinks as an afterthought. Service was impeccable. I was sat in a quiet, sexy little space with faded wood and pretty blue curtains. I had a view of the outside courtyard, in which others were enjoying their drinks and conversation. My server was soft-spoken, attentive, and lovely. I wish I knew his name, but it's not on my receipt. He was working on 4/15/24 and I was cashed out at 6:23 PM. He also provided me with a complimentary desert, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce, and some type of small chocolate cake, almost like a fig cake. It was a much appreciated gesture, above and beyond! I don't go to mid-town/Chelsea often, but if I ever find myself back in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to come here. Great mood, great service, a vibe, a mood.“

I come here sometimes with my baby and everyone is very nice to us and they’re very accommodating with space for my stroller even though the location is somewhat small. The food is delicious, you cannot miss the spreads. They are AMAZING. The vegetarian bowl and chicken souvlaki are also delicious. If you order coconut water they serve it fresh from a coconut. We started with their tzatziki and horiatiki, followed up by Greek potatoes, honeyed saganaki, and gigantes bean stew. The best part of the whole establishment is the owner, Illy. He treats every guest like a close personal friend because he genuinely cares about your experience and his restaurant.
