“Bartender was great and very personable and was a great beginning . Bucatini pasta and oysters were delicious. Scallops were ok and as a chef the veal chop parmesan crusted was definitely a pork chop . I love pork but don't try to fool people, that is not ethical . As i said i'm an italian chef and the bone on the rack was definitely pork !! Not Cool , not sure what else to say but didn't expect this from La Grigila“

“I had my Birthday Dinner here tonight with family. Everyone LOVED their meal. We ordered a few apps - calamari over lemon risotto - wow! Grilled octopus - best I’ve tasted. We had salmon, truffle gnocchi, seafood, short ribs - all were amazing. Dessert- sorbet, cheesecake, crème brûlée, and pistachio tartuffo. This was is a gem, definitely coming back.“

“Had a 5:30 reservation for 5 on a Saturday night. Upon our arrival the table was ready and we were seated. This is a B.Y.O.B. establishment, keep that in mind. We ordered appetizers 1, fried calamari 2,fried mozzarella 3, garlic shrimp ?. They were delicious ?. Here is where the 4 starts came in. It took about an hour and a half between the appetizer and main course to come out. It is about the only drawback they have. I enjoyed a 14 ounce filet minion with a side of linguini in vodka sauce. It's outstanding!! Also enjoyed at the table was ravioli, a rack of lamb, pene with bolonaise sauce and a scallop dinner. Everything was enjoyed by all. As an investor in restaurants I'm very critical when visiting any restaurant and not often impressed even with well known critically acclaimed restaurants. It's very rare when a place has truly incredible food with every appetizer and entree as well as first class VIP vibes for service. You could literally taste the passion and care put into every plate with beautifully prepared flavorful abundant meals. In fact, it was the first time in almost a decade I brought home leftovers as the meal was delicious and easily sufficient for two people. Our entire table raved about their meals and the attentive but not obtrusive service was always there to refill our wine and assist without any of us having to look up for service. The food alone would have made for a great night but what truly made it memorable besides the great waitstaff was the manager, Eli. When was the last time a manager, GM or owner greated you at your table to share a polite, interesting and passionate conversation about the food and why they love sharing this experience with their valued customers? He made our entire table feel like VIPs and made perfect recommendations for wine and dessert. It felt more like we were in someone's home as we were there for close to 3-1/2 hours talking, eating, drinking and laughing. “Almost hidden on a small street in Belleville, Me & Tommy's looks like someone's house from the outside. Once inside, you are immediately treated as a guest in a friend's home. We received such a warm welcome, that my husband asked if I knew the staff. That level of service continued throughout the entire meal. The atmosphere is lively and boisterous. Not meant for a quiet romantic evening. Kinda like a loud Sunday family dinner vibe. For food: Smothered Rice Balls in Vodka Sauce, Stuffed Cubanelle Peppers, Pasta Volognese, and Artichoke Chicken. For me, the Rice Balls were my favorite dish. Generously portioned, the rice balls are a cheesy carb delight. The famous vodka sauce was creamy and plentiful. Highly recommend. The Stuffed Peppers were two very large, beautiful cubanelles (my personal fav pepper). My husband loved the stuffing, while I did think it was a touch over seasoned. The Volognese- cross btw vodka and bolognese) was enormous! It does lean more to the bolognese, but was tasty nonetheless. My Chicken Artichoke special consisted of three chicken breasts with mozzarella and artichoke hearts in a white wine lemon sauce over linguine. This was a very tasty and satisfying dish, and -you guessed it- generous. We shared an Affogatto with Bailey's liqueur for dessert which was a perfect end to the meal. Even my espresso was delicious. The prices are very reasonable for the portion sizes. We took home enough left overs for another meal! We will most definitely return.“

Leading up to the event we worked with the owner who was responsive and accommodating - answering all our questions. The day of we were blown away by the attentive service of of the wait staff - multiple guests of mine were singing their praises! The food of course was so amazing, my party and I got the tuna tartare, the prawn salad, the ragu, the scallops, and other entrees and it was all amazing. The second time we visited this place was because the Mexican restaurant next to it had a one hour wait. I'm not waiting one hour and we need that the food here was good. My wife ordered a Italian Stromboli and I had pasta and octopus. They were both exceptionally tasty, and always come out piping hot. In addition, everyone gets a really delicious bread basket with different types of Italian breads, garlic, bruschetta and baked bread. The owner is always cordial and you can see him mingling around talking to people.If you are in town I would recommend this place. They are fully accessible, and will move tables around for you if you need them to be moved. The bathrooms are also accessible and there are some accessible parking spots available on the street, or in the parking deck behind the courtyard restaurant area.
