“I was in Linden for a funeral and got to the train station an hour early. I'd never been to Linden, so I walked down to Wood Avenue in search of lunch and happened upon Big Blue Subs. I'm glad I did. The first thing that hit me was how sparkling clean the place was. The second thing was that they had Italian hot dogs, a delicacy unobtainable in Brooklyn and one I hadn't had in over 40 years. For the uninitiated, an Italian hot dog is a deep-fried beef hot dog (two if you're ordering a double as I did) smothered in grilled peppers and onions and topped with 1/2" thick deep-fried potato discs all nestled in a pillowy-soft pizza roll. I ordered a double and was told to take a seat at one of the sparkling clean tables and it would be brought out to me. My first impression was that this is one huge meal. I started in on the potato discs. The were nicely crispy outside and soft and nearly creamy inside. they were, despite being deep-fried, decidedly not greasy. Once I got through them, I started to eat the double dogs smothered in onions and peppers in that soft, fluffy roll. Despite being famished when I walked through the door, I couldn't get more than halfway through my perfect double Italian hot dog before I had to throw in the towel. I've had more than a few Italian hot dogs in my mis-spent youth, and they were usually soggy, greasy, delicious messes. My Big Blue Subs Double Italian Hot Dog was absolute perfection, It was not greasy, it was not soggy and even the potatoes were perfectly fried, but not greasy. If I'm ever back in Linden, I will definitely return!“

“This is a 5 star review not because of the food (even though my sandwich was good) it's mainly for the service. It was a Saturday mid day and the line was the longest I've ever seen. These 3 youngsters were tired and drained but still kept their composure. They were a well oiled machine taking the orders inside the restaurant as well as the extensive online orders. Kudos to them because they CLEARLY needed help! From the young man taken the orders, the young lady on the grill and the young man putting the sandwiches together AND ringing them up you have my respect and will be the reason my family and I return!!“

“Tried Ronnie's sandwich shop next door to the 122nd police precinct here on Staten Island yesterday. Got a Pastrami ruben sandwich and an Eggplant Parm sandwich. The pastrami Ruben was real good but the eggplant parm sandwich was a little on the salty side but still good anyway. Overall the place was pretty good and also pretty reasonable. Service came with a smile. Looking forward to trying their other stuff. Now my go to place for hot sandwiches.“

“I had a pork roll with eggs and the eggs were cooked perfectly for a breakfast sandwich; jammy and just a little runny. Not enough to make a mess of my hands while I ate, but enough to sauce up the roll. Super delicious. They're also arranged on the sandwich so you get a bite of egg yolk in most bites, which is the optimal bite of a breakfast sandwich, imo.It's a cute little restaurant, too. Not a ton of seating inside, but the funky art on almost every surface of the walls gives you plenty to look at while you scarf down whatever tasty things you decide to order. I'm pretty confident it's all delicious, if the other food is anything like my breakfast.“

The taste was good, rich with protein, but was not cooked due to a closed grill when i was there.The place is very old fashioned and like other places like subway.If you like and sandwich in a bun with a loy of condimented meat, you will love it.The quality is the high point and the quantity. They really matter to have an giant sandwich.The price, for me is above than other for the experience and quality.“

“Great place owner is pretty cool . I had a reuben and a Italian sandwich. The Italian sandwich was my favorite more than the reuben very fresh. Parking is very hard to find I would recommend calling in advance and placing an order. For two Reuben’s and a Italian sandwich came to $39. I would definitely say give it a try!“

We wanted to do a staff lunch for ourselves, but weren't entirely sure what the best approach would be, so I spoke with John and he suggested a few items that were their most popular, which made it so easy.We got the Chipotle Chicken sandwich, Ham & Brie sandwich, Prime Rib sandwich, and the ABLT sandwich-- all of which were incredible. We also ordered an Apple Salad that was otherworldly. The blend of flavors and textures was sublime and we made short work of it.The star of the show, however, was the crookie. Half chocolate chip cookie, half croissant= all delicious. “Best deli in Hudson County. Great, family-owned neighborhood joint. Great food, better people (... actually the food is just as good as the people). I highly recommend the chicken salad. There is a seating area if you are looking for a dine-in experience.“

“If you want old school Italian, this is the place for you. My family heard about the Belmont Tavern and decided to drive 40 minutes to check this place out. We arrived early on a Friday night, around 5:45PM. It is in a little bit of a rough area and finding parking on the street can be a challenge. The interior does not look like it's changed since it opened. Red and white checkered table cloths, wood paneled walls, and even a phone booth that lights up when you shut the door! All of the customers are all locals. The Tavern is known for their Shrimp Beeps and Chicken Savoy. My recommendation is the Shrimp Beeps over spaghetti. If you order more than one serving, it is served family style. Some of my family members ordered the Chicken Murphy and Chicken Savoy which are more like chicken parts rather than chicken breast. They both thought it was on the dry side. The service is good although we did feel a bit rushed since it was getting busy.“

“The two gentlemen behind the counter were very pleasant. They have a decent menu selection. For the most part, it does not matter if you get a half or a whole sub because you’re not getting a deal by getting the whole sub. Example: most half subs are $7.99 whereas the whole sub is $15.99. There are a few where the whole sub gives you a $.50 savings. Today I did get a cheesesteak with extra provolone cheese, onions, hot peppers and a special hot sauce that they make. I’m glad I got the extra cheese because it definitely needed that and the condiments that were on there were very good. The meat itself didn’t taste like anything special but it wasn’t bad. It seems all of their cold cuts are Thummann’s which is high-quality. I do believe that the cheesesteak sub needed more meat. The meat itself did not even cover the bread end to end. One one end of the sub there was nothing but the bread by about 1.5” and 2” of nothing at the other end. So about 3.5 inches of the 16 inch sub was just bread. In all reality, I believe you are better off going with a half cheesesteak and double everything so you get a full sandwich with half of the bread. I cannot speak for any other sandwich as this is the first time I was there and the only item that I did purchase, as far as the entrée goes. I did get a small thing of potato salad, which was some store-bought stuff just scooped into little containers that was just meh. My meal of a cheesesteak, small potato salad and a Diet Coke can came to just over $20.“

“I went to Just Subs to place an order for a gathering involving a large number of people. I had reviewed the menu and had come up with a figure of $300.00, which by my calculations would provide enough subs, salads and sides for all involved. Probably with some left over. Joe the owner and his employee Desire questioned me about the number of people I wished to serve, and at that point told me that I was ordering too much food! Upon Joe's advice, I ordered a menu which came to a final total of $215.00! Everything was delicious, and there was some left over, just as Joe supposed there would be. It was a nice, professional gesture on his part, and a good way to treat a customer.“

I don't eat meat and there are a few options already on the menu to pick from which is wonderful and considerate overall 10/10Vegetarian options: Lent special and you can create your own panini they also have a caprese panini and I'm sure other things, the menu is extensive.“

“I saw the advertisement on IG reels. Thought to myself give it a try. My travel has taken me over the globe and I always seek a Pastrami or Corned Beef sandwich to compare to Katzs deli. Which is A1 in NYC.To my surprise I give this Pastrami Sandwich #1 In N.J.Bypass the old landmark store downtown Newark that sells Pastrami on Halsey st.There is a New King in town it's Abbys Deli. Just do it!You won't be disappointed the Pastrami and Rye was absolutely a delight to eat.This sandwich was delicious. Take my word for it.“
