The atmosphere is great, it's a cozy, quiet, little restaurant, perfect for a calm dinner after a long day! We ordered the peking duck and a couple soups, as well as steamed shrimp dumplings. The dumplings were amazing and so were the soups! We got a whole duck for $70, while a bit pricey it was worth every penny! I absolutely adored this restaurant and it will definitely become one of my family's go to Chinese places! Can't reccomend enough!“

“This is one of my favorite no frills hole in the wall spots! It's a mom and pop shop run by a mother and her son. They make Chinese food that is more Southern style (I believe they're from Yunnan) and are consistent with their quality of food. They're cash only, super old school since they don't do delivery or have a phone number and are only open on certain days of the week (at the time of writing, 4 days a week). So be sure to check the posted store hours before you go! If you get any of their noodles it always comes with a side of their homemade chili oil and it's so fragrant and flavorful! It has a little hit but isn't too spicy. It's one of my favorite parts of their noodle dishes and honestly they should probably bottle and sell it. They have a few types of noodles: regular noodles (wheat), knife cut noodles (much thicker and they have an irregular texture) and mixian (rice noodles). Their mixian is very smooth and a good option if you want a slightly lighter noodle. I opt for the knife cut noodles when I want some texture and something heavier. They also have a few vegetable dishes that are simple but give you some balance if you like veggies with your meal. My go tos are the spicy noodle of my choice with the meat sauce or the non spicy version with meat sauce. In our most recent visit I got the spicy mixian with meat sauce and my partner got the mixian with meat sauce with an added egg. You'll see the chili oil pictured as well. I also included a picture of the stir fried cabbage from another visit! Though a bit out of the way if you're not in NJ, I've now managed to introduce the spot to two of my friends and they liked it as well! I'm always happy when I come here and we'll continue to frequent Lucky Foo. I'm so glad they survived Covid and still seem to be doing well. We'll keep coming back as long as they're open!“

“I'm not a vegetarian myself, but the allure of Veggie Heaven can't be denied. They make all the classics and more with completely vegetarian / vegan sources of protein such as soy, seitan, mushrooms, etc.I've been here a number of times and a must try are the chicken nuggets with their signature sweet sauce. They nail he texture and taste.Restaurant is massive, so there's almost always walk-in seating available. I won't rehash what everyone else says regarding that, everything on the menu is very good.But one dish in particular I will add is awesome: "the inflation special" (my own name label). It's braised pork sauce, rice, vegetable, and an egg for less than $10. You can add Taiwanese sausage if you want for $3 more. This is a such a steal in this insane economy we're in right now.It's a really good quick easy lunch or dinner option. I've gotten it when I'm lazy or just want a dish that isn't too heavy. Get it! Cheap and tasty.“

It was busy, so can’t blame them, but would have been nice to know it was going to be a wait. The inside is clean, but standard setup. Chicken Lo Mein was great! Kung Pao chicken seemed to have more vegetables than Chicken, but still tasted great!“

“I ordered pork fried rice and chicken wings and BABYYYYYY I've never had chicken wings so good and crunchy from a Chinese restaurant. The rice was fresh. I really enjoyed. They also had great prices. I had and eight wing combo with the fried rice, and one order of eight wings which came up to 22 dollars! And they were big bulky pieces of chicken. Definitely worth the whole experience. Yes, I would order from here again“

“So - I have a lot of allergies and eating issues- I was LATE to eat anything and late to pick up my order. They said it was ready - and let me tell you how much I appreciate these people. They served it when I walked in. My rice and beef with broccoli were hot. And stayed hot while I finished my errands. No MSG (I’m allergic and it hurts :/ ) and I still have more left over for today. It’s close to where I run my daily errands. They’re really great and patient!“

“Gem Bistro in Kearny, NJ, deserves a solid four stars from me. While the suan cai yu (pickled fish soup) fell a bit short in terms of broth and flavor, the crispy pork scoop and the fried fish filets stole the show with their excellent taste, especially the cumin-spicy flavor. The diverse menu featuring many traditional Chinese dishes adds to the appeal. With a mix of hits and misses, Gem Bistro is a gem for those seeking a variety of authentic Chinese flavors.“

“Me and my son had a chinese craving so we ordered here. Never been before. We shared and it was actually enough for us. We got the chicken lo mein which was sooo good. Not too greasy either, like the right amount of flavor/sauce. Beef with broccoli was also very tasty. They gave a good amount of beef. The broccoli was not soggy at all. Still had great texture. The almond cookies were also tasty. I also felt the price was good since I ordered on Uber eats. Definitely going to order here again.“

“An expensive but very good choice for Chinese.Recommend the Peking duck and the Xiao Long Bao, the water spinach with preserves bean curb.Staff are friendly and helpful.However, unlike almost all Chinese restaurants I have experienced, they charge you for steamed rice. The prices they charge could easily cover some plain steamed rice.The Half Peking duck comes with 10 pieces of pancake. Be warned that if you need extra you better order at the same time as take about 15mins. Also the additional order is only 5 pieces for which they charge and is ridiculous they don’t inform you of this.Overall- great chive but you are nickel and dimed which is off-putting.“

“The food at No. 1 Wok's is very good. I've gotten take out from there over 20 times and was happy every time. I never had gastrointestinal issues after eating it because everything was fresh and properly handled. You get a lot of food here and a few times the food was even 5 star. The owner is very friendly to me and that makes me feel good because I work on the road alone most days and it's nice to have a friendly encounter of this nature.“

“Honestly this is NJ CHINESE FOOD! It’s absolutely delicious! I order lesser common food such as hot & sour soup (DELISH!) Crab sticks (best I’ve had) and the Egg Foo Young BEST IVE EVER HAD! “New Man Hing has been my favorite Chinese restaurant ever since I moved here 4-5 years ago. Their staffs are very good with special requests and they make sure your food comes hot and delicious. One of my personal favorite is the boneless spare ribs with the lo mein. They know what makes the ribs good.“

“We have been looking for a great soup dumpling place and this does not disappoint! Started with the scallion pancake, which has a hint of 5 spice powder. Really wonderful flavor and nice crunch on the outside giving way to a chewy inside. Also a nice refreshing start was the cucumber and garlic. Good cool crunch and nice flavor. The Shanghai Pork Soup dumplings came out next and in my zealousness to try I burned my tongue but that is on me. They were totally delicious. On a roll, we ordered the dumplings in spicy sauce which had a nice 5 spice powder flavor to it. So good! Will definitely be back! My favorite thing is the pork dumpling cam in the restaurant where they have a loop of how the dumplings are made.“

“Wow is all my whole family and I can say after eating here. The food here is incredibly authentic and delicious, but you need to order the right things. I don't know how good the "americanized" dishes are, but the authentic chinese dishes were amazing and flavorful. I admit I do not know the specific names since my family did the ordering, but some of my favorite dishes included shrimp with cabbage, some long clam-like shellfish dish, and a beef tripe with celery cold dish. The mapo tofu and cold pork with garlic dipping sauce were also great. It is *very* difficult to impress my family but my family unanimously raved about the dishes. There is a huge selection of dishes from different chinese cuisines and they nailed all of them. Even my grandmother who grew up in the region that this food originated from loved it. This is truly a gem and honor to get a real taste of china, and I'm grateful I got to get a taste of my grandmother's childhood. Also they had some killer homemade pastries with red bean filling and purple yam filling. They weren't too sweet so my grandparents loved them too. The venue and tables were also very clean and spacious. While some say the service may be on the slower end, it really wasn't that slow and it was 110% worth it. I highly recommend this place if you want a real chinese experience.“

Yummy, island mai tai was what I ordered to drink and we were served Chinese crackers, duck sauce, and hot mustard to start (complimentary). That mustard will clear your sinuses, perfect temperature for me! We ordered a poo poo, which had egg rolls, shrimp toast, spare ribs, etc. not only delicious, but visually appealing as well with a large flame! I had the hunan beef for an entree.
