“2 fish & 5 loaves were fantastic. I planned a huge going away/birthday party for my daughter when my caterer had a family emergency. Kevin and his team had catered an event at work and did an excellent job so I called him frantically 5 days before the party. Not only was he extremely accommodating, but we put together a great menu. Had fried chicken, ribs, oxtails, shrimp skewers, plantains, rice w pigeon peas, mac&cheese and corn bread. I'm cuban so wanted something w some Caribbean feel though they are not a typical Caribbean place. Oh my goodness!!! AMAZING! EVERYONE RAVED!! I have had many parties but I have never had everyone flip out over the food like this. The delivery was perfect, the food was hot and fresh. Perfection.“

“Let me just start by saying the food tastes amazing!!! ? Authentic carribbean and soul food at best. The portion size is great for the price. I couldn't finish my plate in one sitting. It's a little hole in the wall spot. I appreciated seeing the little bit of seating that was there just in case you wanted to eat inside.The only downfall I didn't appreciate was the debt and credit card fee. I used my debt card, including putting in my pin, and it increased my bill to use my card. It was my first time there. I guess it's the price of being a customer these days.If you go, definitely bring cash. I will be back because the food is definitely worth it ??“

“The after church crowd was here on Sunday and I completely understand why. The food was every thing it needed to be & then some. I ordered the shrimp & grits with a side of eggs. They serve breakfast all day and have a vegan menu. The restaurant is connected to an apartment building so be careful not to pass when looking for it. It has a black & white striped triangular umbrella hovering over it. The staff were kind and the atmosphere was extremely down to earth, but not ghetto. This is a great mom & pop shop that you should fed check out. Be sure to try a flavored lemonade or iced tea. They are tall and one was more than enough. I didn't notice any ASL speaking staff, it wasn't needed, but there is space for wheelchairs. There is also street parking so be mindful. Only downside, our table wasn't exactly clean when sat down, but it was obvious they were busy. Overall, this is a great place for brunch or Sunday takeout dinner.“

“I live in Pennsylvania, but my friends ordered from here and now I'll drive all the way back, 80+ miles one way just to get this food. I've had so many different kinds, but this is the best place I've ever had food from. Obviously, we didn't try everything, but they're so super nice and the dumplings with that sauce omgosh can I please buy that in a bottle?Never usually liked those sauces, but it's banging!!!! I'd put that up against any other sauce. Super sweet and the soup damn I'm so hungry. Overall everything we ordered was the best we've ever had. “I took food to my job and they loved I brought a pan of yellow rice cabbage and a $20 pan of potato salad and took it to my job cause we had a birthday party for a coworker. They loved the food they never had it before I live in South Amboy but I’m from Newark work in Matawan at the nursing home, and they never had the flu before they loved it. Good job, kings.“

However, the person cooking was really unpleasant when I returned alone one day, and I nearly decided not to return even though I was really craving it. I returned to give it one last try, and I'm glad I did because I visit this place nearly every week. The individual I interacted with during this interaction was really kind and supportive. “I’ve eaten inside and ordered delivery. The quality of soulll food at Bradford’s Barr is top notch. The stuffed shrimp, salmon, wings, waffles, tootsie bread, broccoli, mac n cheese, drink and everything is BUSSIN (that’s Ebonics for delicious/ out of this world). “Place is a gem. Food is good. Unfortunately, when I was there and there was a VERY LOUD party of 17 people. We couldn't fully enjoy the meal. That being said, had the weather been nice we could have eaten in their lovely courtyard. I will definitely go again. I Will probably check out their $40 buffet on Saturday or Sunday.“
