Original Presto's

This is the worst establishment in West New York, NJ and really needs to be shut down ASAP. 1st offense- 2019: One of my first experiences with the owner, he decided to humiliate me in front of all of the quest after he accused me of stealing two slices for $5.00. As if I wouldn’t have preferred Whole Foods instead and can’t decipher the quality difference- he was closer and along my bus route down the hill. After an unnecessary debate, not only did I loose my appetite, he made himself look like a fool when he learned I did in fact pay for my purchase after he called the clerk. After I boycotted the franchises’ cheap, food for months, I decided to “live a little” and gave the shop another chance because I couldn’t find a local Whole Foods nearby. 2nd offense- 3/5/2020: I walked into the restaurant, saw my options, got permission to wash my hands and no later than a few mins. I was greeted with violent, aggressive slams on the opposite end of the restroom door, by no other than?- the owner himself as he repeatedly tried to barge his way into the restroom and force me out. Aware of his unprofessionaIism, I had no intentions of backing down this time and from the opposite end of the restroom door we both engaged in a shouting match as he forced me to finish up before I was done. Once again he remained too ignorant to comunicate with the cook as he would have known, I was already given permission to use the restroom before I decided to place my order. After I decided I was done in the restroom, I walked up to the counter and placed my order. The chef described the wait time and the owner decided to interrupt our discussion a couple of times. I tried to bat him as much as possible from my view in efforts to avoid his face as I insisted, I wasn’t talking to him. He then got in my face and shouted: “I’M the OWNER! I’M the OWNER!” To which I replied; “I don’t care who you are.” He then ordered his staff to dismiss my request and refused to serve me. Hungry, violated and upset, I decided help the owner understand his mistake. Therefore, I called the police on him and filed for harassment. Hopefully now the owner will finally learn aggressive, unjustified, violent, behavior from a man towards women will not be tolerated. Not to mention, yet I will- The store is a health code violation waiting to happen. Lets start with the pink soap container in the bathroom that looks as though it hasn’t been cleaned or changed in decades. The black dirt engrained all throughout every crack of the white lid, is nauseating! All of the money he earns from that store and he can’t even spend an extra $4.00 on a decent sanitary experience. I’m pretty sure there’s a dollar store nearby. The cooks act like you need a kidney transplant from them when you request they wear gloves when handling the food (your paying for) and the owner is nothing short of a low-class, abusive, chauvinistic, poor excuse of an organism, who he really thinks he’s happening. Anyone who can distinguish poor quality would know, he’s not... The space needs to be re-established by real owners who know how to appreciate their quest because without anyone’s service, The Original Presto’s would not exist. The place is a waste of a decent experience and he is a DISGRACE to the heart of the Italian culture, which is such a shame because I really love Italian food even when it isn’t that great. I was so over people, I refused even my best options and settled for sunflower seeds for dinner instead. -Disappointed Consumer
