“Pig Beach is a massive BBQ place in Astoria. It may be the biggest BBQ spot in all of NYC. Not only is the indoor dining area huge, but there is a large outdoor dining area with a projection TV screen too. This is the perfect place to take a large group on a warm day. And the food is decent too. The best deal here is the sampler platter, which can feed three people. For $40, you will get your choice of a large side, ribs, pork shoulder, turkey and beef brisket. The brisket was the best and juiciest meat in my opinion. They also have an amazing happy hour special. If you come Wednesday to Friday from 3pm to 6pm, you can get $1 wings and $5 beers. While I have had even better quality BBQ elsewhere, the food here was flavorful and good quality. This is a good and laid back place overall.“

“I frequently visit this place with my girlfriend since it’s down the block from my house. I love the food and the service is great Christina and Kristen are amazing. Jackie is kind of rude so that’s the only downside and I tend to avoid the place when she’s bartending or hanging out with her friends there. Other than that I love coming here. Try to Mac and cheese get it well done and order some of the sliders and you’re golden!“

(Sneak Preview of the Jennifer Lawerence movie, "NO Hard Feelings" Very funny !! We went to play pool & have a couple adult beverages. We had more adult beverages than pool games. LoL. “I don't know how Korean food can be better than this. I have been to Seoul and the taste is pretty authentic to me. Very surprised to find that kind of restaurant in Astoria and not in Ktown. “We had the VFW in Astoria booked for a celebration of life for my mom and brother. We waited and waited and no one showed up to let us in. A crowd began to gather and still no word from the VFW. My wife and sister searched the area and stumbled up The Local. They explained our situation and the bartender was more than accommodating. We were able to use the outside area which was quite spacious and bring our own food!!! All they asked was that we bought some drinks(which were amazing!!!) I will definitely visit the Local whenever I'm in Astoria!!!“
