“We ordered take out from here for the first time and the food was so delicious! We got the Kani, Mango and Seaweed salad, Pepper Tuna Takaki,steamed Shumai, the Fire Island roll and Godzilla roll. Everything was fresh and the presentation was nice (even for takeout) we can't wait to come back and dine in next time!“

“My husband and I stopped in for dinner, and both of us were very pleased with our entire experience. We were seated upstairs, and it was wonderful to be able to actually hear each other and have a conversation. Our waiter, Jesse, was very attentive and personable. We had the hibachi shrimp, which was outstanding and served with whipped potatoes instead of rice for a nice change. BTW...the large hot sake is double the size of anywhere else. We will definitely be returning.“

“I’ve been going here for years and it really is the best sushi place on Long Island. The sushi is always delicious, the staff is friendly, and we never wait to be seated. I’ve gone to other sushi places and think, “I wish I just went to kabuki instead” it’s amazing. I recommend the Godzilla roll or the Rock and Roll, but anything you get will be great.“

“A Large restaurant with a lot of bar, table and hibachi seating. Nicely decorated in a modern style. We had a hibachi dinner that we really enjoyed. The portions were generous and the steak was very tender. Excellent shrimp and lobster tail. We had the tempura banana for dessert. It was a real treat.“

“The food was absolutely great. I had the Bakuto pork ramen and it was absolutely delicious, flavorful and rich broth and tender pork. I particularly liked the mushrooms included in the ramen. My friend had the spicy cold noodles which were also tasty. The service was great, we did have some issues with the waiter mishearing us, ordered chicken bun but got a shrimp bun, but the waiter was quick to comp us for the shrimp and put in the order for the chicken bun. Both buns were good but the chicken was better than the shrimp. The dumpling were solid but nothing special. A nice atmosphere, there was a mini Spock photo hidden in a tea cup which was cute. A great restaurant for a nice dinner!“

“Staff here is very friendly. I got the chicken katsu bento and it was...just ok. Chicken was perfect, but the rice was super mushy. The miso soup was obviously from a ready mix and had those tiny little completely uniform freeze-dried tofu pieces. Ebi Mayo/rock shrimp was better, but tiny portion. Kani salad had more lettuce than crab and didn't have crunchy panko on top. They're also really cheap with the sauces here. Overall it'll satisfy your cravings, but don't expect to be blown away. I honestly feel they're overpriced for the quality served.“

“I got a paper in the mail saying this place was opening, my wife and I are sushi lovers and decided to give it a try, I can confidently say that this is THE BEST sushi place I have been. The food is just amazing (try crazy dragon roll and rainbow roll) the plating is creative and different every time, they have a lot of sake and drink options. All you can it is totally worth it, they serve small sizes so you can try different options so make sure to order at least 3 options in your first round. I wish I remember my server's name, he was attentive and nice.“

“One of my go-to sushi spots for a few reasons. The price is a huge driving factor, especially in this economy sheesh! I'll keep it brief though, this sushi spot is right off the service road on the I-27. It may look a bit awkward on the inside because they share the location with a chinese take-out spot so both establishments are essentially connected at the hip. I love their lunch special here: Any 3 classic rolls & either soup, salad, or soda for under $15. They stuff these rolls too so I can never finish my meal in one sitting. I will say you pay for what you get however, this sushi is tasty but it definitely isn't the best sushi available. It is the most convenient and affordable though and for those reasons I will continue coming here when I need a quick sushi fix.“

“An under-the-radar gem, Dake Korean (it's actually a Korean eaterie, not a sushi place) is a must visit and probably the best Korean food I've tasted on Long Island. My son was in the know about the place, and took me there for a belated birthday dinner. Started with excellent banchan and an amazing seafood pancake, then a dish of phenomenal squid and pork belly, all washed down with yummy soju. Loved Dake!“

“I had to update my review because I got some of best tasting chicken chow mein that I've had in a long time.there was plenty of chicken pieces and it was very flavorful. I also ordered some wonton egg drop soup that was full of flavor hot and delicious. their fried rice was cooked perfectly and my order arrived promptly and was piping hot. “We were looking for lunch and came across this Asian fusion restaurant. There is street parking available as well as a small parking lot behind it. There is a 2 page lunch menu and plenty to choose from. All the dishes we ordered were very good. We shared a sushi lunch order as an appetizer. Portions were generous and the hot dishes were tasty. Service was friendly and efficient. The decor was very nice. Will dine there again next time we're in town.“

Sake is family owned , and as with so many small Asian restaurants whose proprietors hail from China's Fujian Province , the pride taken in service is ever p;resent here ...... With the unfortunate closing of Ruby Buffet after the Sunrise Mall fire of January , 2021 , Sake by itself fills a much needed South Shore niche . As with my favorite little Italian haven , Seaford's Il Baceto on Jerusalem Avenue , don't let the unprepossessing location fool you : Garden City holds nothing better !“
