“The atmosphere was fine and the plants on the wall were lovely. The monk fish was ok. The burger was good but substitutions are not allowed (I asked about subbing some greens instead of fries). You also can’t choose how your beef is cooked and I was fine with medium. It came well done, unfortunately. I like salty foods and this burger was pretty salty but I didn’t mind. The bacon was the best part of the entree.I’m adding an additional star in my review because they cook their fries in duck tallow which is much healthier and tastier than seed oils. Fries cooked in seed oils (most restaurants) contain trans fats because the frier cools and heats up over and over which causes the oil molecules to degrade down to trans fats. I’m glad more restaurants are starting to switch from canola and soy bean oil to animal fats. Ok, coming off my soap box.“

“Great take on Lu rou fan (minced pork and rice), excellent scallion pancakes and awesome dessert (Tian miantuan) that was like a sandwich of sweet fried dough, golden sesame ice cream and condensed milk (plus cilantro and butter dried peanuts)! Great beverages as well such as the slightly sweetened Jasmine iced tea and Sanzo (lychee & calamansi) sparkling water products!“

“We started off with some tasty cocktails: A Japanese twist on a margarita and an amazing whiskey-based pink one (the name escapes me but it was truly unique and delicious. We had their rendition of a Caeser salad, which was enormous. The deep fried burrata was also quite big… and truly unique and scrumptious. I could have drank the cheesy broth all night. The fried hen was nice. The black cod was as well. The sticky pudding with lime ice cream dessert was massive, but the two of us managed. Also - get the potatoes…. A great compliment to everything.“

“I absolutely loved this place!! The interior was so cute and felt like a great spot to grab a drink. We came here for brunch and got the Bread Basket for the table which was fire with the different spreads/honey butter. For y main, I tried the Eggs Cilbir which was surprisingly very filling. The yogurt flavor was delicious. I do think it could come with more bread though. Overall, really good experience. I'm sure I'll find my way back.“

“Great addition to the neighborhood. I got the sloppy po tofu sandwich and my husband got the chicken pieces. Personally, the reason it gets a 4 is because the sloppy po made the bread too soggy for my liking so it changed the taste a bit and made the eating experience super messy.“

“It’s such a pity, I really wanted to like this place but was let down for some reason.Ambience was great for casual dining, super hip decor, noises from tables reverberating around the small, cavern like inner room.Food was good as well. But it was so so slow. We wanted to order starters first, see how we feel before ordering mains. We were told it has to be all at once.Even though they took our orders from the start, we had to wait an hour for the mains to arrive (same for the table beside us). The service staff did come by and apologise twice, so I’m guessing the slow service is not usually the norm.“

We've been staying in the Franklin Guesthouse (hotel adjacent to Madre) for a couple of nights and decided to give Madre a shot - boy were we in for a treat! Firstly, shout out to Armando, who made us feel immediately welcomed with his warmth and energy! For food, we got the Frutti di Mare, Croquetas, Brussels Sprouts, Cornbread Madeleines (compliments from chef) and Chicken - massive MASSIVE props to Chef Bryan and his very talented team. To say that they cooked "well" would be the understatement of 2022. They absolutely blew our minds with top quality medley of ingredients, depth of flavor, and masterful execution in every way. Cocktails were fun and delectable, which added the perfect "pop" to the culinary rocket ship that Madre served up. Just when my wife and I were ready to call it a night, Chef Bryan and Armando were kind enough to bring out the Pot de Creme for us, which was the bow and ribbon on this very special dinner. My only regret of the night was not having enough stomachs to enjoy more of what Madre could serve up. We will definitely be back! Thank you, Madre!“

Happy to report we were VERY wrong.Chef Dan Gonzalez is making a really tasty and surprising menu! Every dish was thought out with care and so incredibly tasty. Each new item brought a surprise and delight.The Hake with celery was stunning, the cavatelli with lamb was exceptional, the salad was a star too - flavor in every component! We also opted for a special that was a pasta with uni and citrus with some peppers and it was truly a memorable, delicious dish.In addition to the amazing food, the service was excellent too. Knowledgeable, kind and low key. They were attentive but not overbearing or pushy. We had a late guest in our party and they were so sweet about checking in with us.The space is also cute, so really this is a 10/10 experience.Highly recommend and so excited to come back to try more of Chef Dans incredible food!“

The wait was not long to get a table and the service was prompt, professional, courteous, and didn’t leave us in want of anything. All of our needs were met. “Although the price of the tasting menu is on the higher side i believe the restaurant’s attention to the ingredients, menu, skills, service, restaurant decor and overall atmosphere aligns well with the positioning of a high quality restaurant. It is expected that you may or may not be as filled compared to eating a full meal however we went for a dining EXPERIENCE and clover hill definitely did not fall short. The ambiance was very intimate. It’s a good place to celebrate occasions. The music was definitely my vibe. Everything was delicious and presentation is beautiful. This is worth the experience. “Glad Blanca reopened and finally get to try. Interesting approach but not sure how I feel about it. It's very "internationally" inspired. Some random thoughts during the meal - Crab Empanada is the most generous in size dish that I've seen at any tasting menu joint. Tortilla Bread's texture was very interesting. The crust is much thicker and flakier than usual bread, I enjoyed a lot. Uni soaked in a bed of leche de tigre, and drizzled with hot sesame oil - not exactly sure how this creation came from but feel like it's random and didn't blend well, uni's flavor was lost. Seaweed Tortelli was tasty but couldn't taste seaweed. Korean Spinach suddenly got served? Feel like traveled the world in this meal but not in a cohesive way. Appreciate the creativity behind it though!“

“I wanted to love this place and waited over a month to get a spot for two. Unfortunately we found it a little underwhelming, although the spring onion dish was delightful. It was hard to hear and a little cramped which impacted the atmosphere. The staff was very friendly and brought a positive energy their service.Wheelchair accessibility: I think they would make accommodations for guests with a wheelchairs. However, the space is small and the tables are cramped together a bit.“

“Love the vibes here, the restaurant feels so homey and welcoming, and they have a lot of cool art on the walls. Our server/bartender was so friendly and ready with recommendations too. I chose the communal style dining and it was fun getting to know the folks around me. Given the quality of the meal, it was absolutely worth the price. Everything tasted fresh and delicious, dishes were artfully presented, and proportion sizes were good. Enjoyed everything I ate here but the star had to be dessert (that date cake with toffee sauce was amazinggg). Drinks were well crafted too; think I'll try to opt for the wine pairing next time. “We booked this place strictly off of seeing their viral Instagram post from @righteouseats and their affiliations with the Win Son restaurant across town. I thought Win Son was a 10/10 dining experience so of course I had high expectations. Service/Ambiance:We arrived as soon as they opened, and we were quickly seated in tables for two with stool type chairs it definitely was a tight squeeze as the place quickly filled up. There is really no where to place your coat if you're sitting in this area unless you walked about 10 feet to the bar are where there was a hook on the wall. Those backless chairs quickly became an issue for my 6'2" frame. Our waitress Sharon was excellent! She was attentive and super friendly and helpful making food recommendations, etc and definitely the reason I am giving 4 stars instead of 3. Food:Food was mid for me. The toast tasted oily, the ribs were overcooked AND oily. You def needed that sauce but I wasn't going to pay $7 for a sauce sampler. The once saving grace was the rice. It was flavorful and yummy and the chicken was moist and crispy as it should be. I probably won't be visiting again and stick with Win Son restaurant and bakery.“

“My beautiful Grand daughter studied for the GMAT there. We enjoyed a delicious sandwich. The bathroom was nice I washed my hands. My beautiful grand daughter took a shot of whiskey then rode a bus LOL anyhoo great time in Brooklyn for all it was also Halloween and this fun loving grandma dressed as a cat. Then I chased my husband Roger around for some fun LOL I recommend coming here during the day esp sundays very nice reminds me of Ireland and I have ancestors there“

We ordered the double smash burger, the salad, and the chimichurri steak. The smash burger was the highlight for me. Lohi also doubles as an event space as well. “Otis, My Man! - Animal House I planned out both dinner and show Friday night for my wife. I have the first reservation at 6pm but in order to make this all work she has to leave work a little early. She says it shouldn't be a problem but all I'm thinking about is their homemade breads. If there's an issue, I may leave late. Woman, set yourself on fire and run out of there! Once inside, this is a beautiful space in Bushwick. Bushwick always makes me laugh. If my grandparents were alive they'd say the rosary for me. Bushwick in the late 70s? As I see the subway across the street, I can see why in 2024 this is a popular neighborhood. Walking inside, there is a long beautiful looking bar that's stocked with some high end booze. I was about to order one of the great Scotch offerings but I see a smoky & spicy Otis signature drink called "Revenge Of The Line" made with Mezcal, Charred Pineapple and Habañero. Ah-mazing. The Otis Menu isn't broken down into starters and mains. The Otis team lists everything, figure it out and order. My wife & I made this work. Starting with the Burrata and the Roasted Beets. The Burrata was on top of this Sweet Potato and Tomato Jam. Once the burrata was cut open, delish! We slathered the cheese on the charred focaccia, soo good! The roasted beets with Ruby Frost Apples were another solid dish. What made it next level was the Crispy Quinoa and Candied Pecan bits. Highly recommended. Next, Lamb Meatballs and Braised Pork Pasta. We're sitting at the chef's table and watching these guys cook is crazy. They have 5 pans going at once and they are hustling to get food out. I see them take the Lamb Meatballs and put them on the grill to get that charred goodness. When they're finished the Lamb Meatballs are plated over a Tomatillo Tahini. This is a phenomenal dish, and the definition of phenomenal: very remarkable, extraordinary. Finally, the Braised Pork Pasta. This was something I never had before, it says miso but the underlying flavor tasted more like cinnamon. House made Gigli Pasta with Pork Shoulder which was cooked low and slow, fork tender soft and loaded with flavor. This dish was topped with House-Made Ricotta. Best described as a little heat with sliky tomato sauce, the Braised Pork Pasta is the best dish on the Otis menu. The desserts looked amazing but we were so packed I had to say No Mas. I am so glad we dined at Otis, I highly recommend Otis for Cocktails and Dinner.“

Josh & his team were so organized -- and the food and drinks (honorable mention for the house mead, which everyone raved about) were fantastic. “My wife and as New Mexican natives have searched far and wide on our travels for “real New Mexican food”. Santa Fe BK is unquestionably the best we have had. John and Melissa, the owners did their research and it shows in the food. The place itself is charming, especially the outdoor patio with “Betty” the apple tree anchoring it. When planning the trip, Colonie caught my eye so we decided to give it a try. I’m so glad we did, because it quickly turned into the absolute highlight of our trip and was an evening we won’t forget. Arrived around 8:30pm on a Thursday night and got seated about 30-40mins later for 2. They have a separate waiting list for the bar but requires you put a card down. The atmosphere and vibe is top notch and feels like an old school ish bar. I heard the burger was incredible but thought it was a very solid 4 out of 5. The chicken parm was incredible and not as heavy considering it doesn’t come with pasta. Cesar salad was super good! Worth giving it a try if you live in the neighborhood!“

“Such a great brunch spot! The portions are MASSIVE so you can definitely get a few things and share. Start with the biscuits for the table. The jelly is really good. I opted for the pancakes and while they were delicious, I wish there was a little less. Just felt terrible not being able to finish. One friend got the burger and the other the French toast. Both said they were delicious. Staff was incredibly friendly. I got there before my friends and they sat me while I waited for them which I really appreciated. I will be going back to try a few more things on the menu. Unfortunately the food was so good, I forgotto take photos but take my word for it!“

“I came here with my girlfriend to celebrate 6 months of dating. We were greeted by a wonderful hostess who seated us right away, even though we were a bit early. We were give. The table of our choice and then were met by our wonderful waitress Grace who began to share her thoughts on the menu and provide updates on which items were and were not available. The food came out in a very timely fashion and everything was delicious. My girlfriend ordered the Beet Salad, Parmesean Fries and we split the Brussel Sprouts. I ordered the Braised Ribs. Everything was made to perfection. We also had two cocktails each. Both drinks were made with premium alcohol and although they were strong, they didn’t overpower the flavor. I had a Chocolate Martini and she had the Blackberry Bramble. We finished up with a chocolate gelato and blood orange sorbet which were delectable together. The ambience was great and the decor was fabulous. We will definitely make a return visit.“
