“absolutely excellent sushi in the Forest Hill neighborhoods, and the scallop Maki roll was the ultimate best. so fresh and bouncy and full of delicious flavor, and the wasabi is ready made so it is crumbly and has a very distinct texture, like you put it on top of the sushi instead of mixing it when the soy sauce, also had the Forest Hill roll and the Akio roll and would definitely recommend the restaurant“

“Sushi On Me is ALWAYS a good time. I have only ever been to the original location because it feels intimate and special, every single time. The chefs are wonderful, funny, and know how to help you have a good time. My husband and I are still talking about the experience, and the FOOD, days later. Don't sleep on this place!“

“I LOVE Ishi so much... This was my favorite omakase experience in NYC! Brought my parents here for their anniversary and their first ever Omakase. The ambiance is lovely. The interior is warm, inviting and intimate. Staff is very welcoming. The food is AMAZING and high quality. Every single piece was delicious and we were so impressed. I will definitely be back. There are so many great omakase places in NYC but this was the first that made me want to revisit even without a special occasion to celebrate.Thank you to the team at Ishi for such a wonderful experience!“

“The ambiance is stylish and comfortable, and the dishes are exquisite? We chose the ?$100 pp Omakase for 2 and also ordered a few appetizers and nigiri a la carte. The appetizers include a steamed egg—soft and smooth, with the sauce flavor just right—you can order it with added Uni.Since every ingredient was so fresh and sweet, we couldn't resist ordering more scallop, uni, and wagyu nigiri to satisfy our cravings~The cocktails were fruity and very professionally made?. The dessert's cheesecake has sesame flavor?Check this place out‼️“

“This omakase spot does a well thought out 14 course that includes everything - from apps to nigiri to desserts at an affordable price. What I really enjoyed about Sushi Yolo compared to other omakase spots in this price range is how it’s nicely paced with your entire meal spanning 1.5 hours (other spots are usually churning out guests within 1 hour). As I said before, all the dishes were so well thought out and the pieces that were presented were so beautiful. My absolute favorite was their steamed egg topped with ikura and uni - it was so warm, smooth, and custard-y with the ikura and uni providing the perfect umami balance. As expected, service was amazing and Alex, the host, was so thoughtful to offer me tea throughout my meal as I was the only one in my party who was not partaking in sake.Highly recommend for a date night or a fun outing with a group of friends.“

“Fabulous date night at Nami Nori. We both order the signature set which was phenomenal. Every piece was creative, so fresh and better than the last. We shared the tempura misto, wasabi cucumber tataki and the spicy tuna dip. The wasabi cucumber was a great choice and the green that we needed for the meal. Could have passed on the tempura. I loved the spicy tuna dip but my boyfriend said he rather grab more handrolls next time. We also got the mochurros and tbh, it's a pass for us. The WBurg location has a liquor license and the fun cocktails are not to be missed! Im not a fan of lychee martinis and my boyfriend ordered one off the menu and it was probably the best ones I've had. Attentive staff and such a beautiful venue. It's always so hard to get reservations but we saw plenty of open seats on a Saturday around 730/peak dinner, so definitely try walking in.“

“Found an amazing hidden gem in Astoria, Queens! It’s a secret speakeasy tucked away at the back of a poke shop. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried their 14-course omakase with sake for $98 per person, and also added the optional uni ikura don for $25. The quality of the fish blew us away - so fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the neighborhood.“

“Made a reservation for a Friday night and had an incredible meal here. Honestly, I don't want to tell people about this... that's how good it is. My boyfriend and I both did the premium omakase, which was $68pp (hospitality included). Right off the bat, you cannot beat that price for omakase downtown. What's even better is how good it was. Highlights were the marinated tuna, medium fatty tuna, squid, arctic char, yellowtail and eel. The quality was really there, and it's definitely one of the best affordable omakase I've tried. Just an amazing meal all around. Can't wait to go back!“

“We arrived to Kimura 10min before opening on a weekend and there were 3 parties in front of us in line. They opened on time and there were no issues getting seated, with no reservation, but we were seated in the backyard heated room. Our waiter and the staff there were polite and friendly. Everything we ordered was flavorful and delicious. Only complaint was I wish portion size was bigger. Haha. Beef tongue slices (5pcs) $14 - marinated grilled tender slices Yuzu Miso Salmon $15 - Includes fresh salmon sashimi topped with yuzu miso and sesame ponzu sauce, green onion and onion slices Hakata Motsu Nabe $27/person - Includes beef intestines, cabbage, leek, tofu, burdock, and sesame, chili sauce on the side. I would like to come back to try the of other nabe options.“

“Great place to stop by for a simple omakase lunch. Theres a small seating counter in the back for about 10-12 people. We had 10 pieces of fish with 2 rolls. The fish of the day was mackeral and fluke. Some of my favorites were the torched sable fish and scallop. Service was great and the staff were friendly.“

“Easily one of the best omakase in the city. The otsumami was fantastic, and I really the nigiri. The rice is very unique. Loved the flavor. It’s also a perfect ambiance. High end but relaxed. People talking and laughing. Not the silent / formal vibe you get at some spots in Tokyo and nyc. (Which I always find kinda weird)“

“I came with a group of 5 for my birthday dinner, and we each ordered a hand roll set which were all so delish. We also ordered three entrees: spicy dalkgalbi, donkatsu, and beef short rib. They were all outstanding. I highly recommend coming here for a casual night out with friends or even a date night with your significant other.“

“Omakase is pretty good for the price. Most of their fish are fresh and flavors are good. Their cod, uni, and scallop were great. Their amberjack appetizer was not as fresh. I suspect most restaurants try to mask their less fresh items with sauce and other flavors and put it up as an appetizer. Atmosphere was crowded and noisy. Service was fast, taking away our plates before we were even done chewing. Didn't mind it too much but it did feel a little rushed.“

“We walked in with no reservations on a Saturday night (we had just arrived in the city) and only had a 45 minute wait. The food is delicious, I had pork tonkatsu ramen, and my husband had a seafood okonomiyaki. We shared a soy and ginger beef appetizer and got their seasonal Miu Miu cocktail. The service was quick once we were seated and the staff was friendly. The only drawback is that the space is loud, and it is uncomfortable to try and have a conversation over your meal. That may not be a problem on a weekday though.“

“BBF was recommended by my Japanese colleague and they said it’s really authentic with outstanding flavor. We were craving for Japanese Bento so we decided to give it a try. There were also pastries available but we are not into Japanese pastries. We had their Katsu Sando and Burger Steak to share. The Katsu was fried perfectly but the toast was a little dry. I preferred the juicy and flavorful burger steak.“

“Good deal for the price ($69) but if you’re looking for the best affordable omakase it’s Tsumo Omakase ($58). It may be the same owners but it’s a nicer space (although not as intimate), and has an individual uni course. Exact same 13 course sushi except Tsumo has an uni gunkan and Shinn has a salmon-foie gras-truffle nigiri.“

“This place does not need more reviews but I feel the need to add another to show my support because I think Sushi Lin is the best sushi in Brooklyn. They're constantly improving their selections and the experience and they probably source from the same purveyors as all the top notch sushi restaurants in the city because the quality of the fish here is unparalleled. The first time I had sushi made by Lenny was when he was a sushi chef at Blue Ribbon. It's been more than 10 years since I've been dining with him, and there are several things that have been constant: the amount of care he puts into his food, how hospitable he is, his humility, and that he will always give his customers the best quality and value for what they are paying for.“

“I'm a picky eater and was very nervous about eating at U Omakase. I was truly satisfied with everything. I believe that every course was better than the one before it. The staff was great! They gave every detail about each dish and answered all of our questions. I highly recommend it. For those nervous, "picky eaters" out there, just go and take in all the flavors and enjoy. Thank you to U Omakase for such a fun night.“

“Sushi Goda stole my heart right as soon as I walked in. The futuristic entrance, cozy ambience, and nice jazzy music in the background make everything perfect. The food is hands-down delicious. We ordered fried rice, salmon skin salad, sushi tempura, and bruschetta. Everything tastes out of the world. The servers were super and they definitely did a great job in paying attention to details. I would recommend Sushi Goda to everyone who loves sushi and omakase.“

“The other day, I experienced omakase at TAKEDA for the first time. The space was as tranquil as ever. The light jazz music playing in the background stirred my heart more. The "appetizer" was salmon with dill oil. The orange dressing gently coats the salmon, which has just come out of the northern sea. The scent of the ocean and citrus fruits create an unexpected chemistry.Next is kampachi or Amber Jack sashimi. The elegant plum sauce is a light accent. As with the other items, the fish is directly from the Toyosu market in Tokyo. After all, the crunchiness is outstanding. The next dish, a bowl of soup, is very elaborate. Steamed silver cod on top of slices of zucchini. On top of that, there are steamed lotus dumplings, a local delicacy of Kanazawa. The accompanying red bell pepper's light bitter taste contrasts nicely with the dumplings. Then, the "first half" of the nigiri-sushi sequence begins. By the way, all sushi at this restaurant are served by hand, one by one, from Mr. Takeda. The only seasoning is the boiled-down soy sauce prepared by the chef, and customers are basically not allowed to add soy sauce from a small plate. The sushi lineup that day included Nodoguro (black seabass) from Tsushima,Nagasaki, Button Shrimps from Hokkaido (the rice grips are intentionally softened to enhance their texture), and salmon roe (a type of salmon roe called Sujiko, which is also from Hokkaido, and is at its best when it is out of season). Following was Kinmedai or Golden Eye Snapper(a non-migratory type of local Kinmedai called Jikinme) from the port of Choshi, Chiba, and the sushi section concluded with the renowned eel from Hamamatsu. After being bombarded with so much sushi, it was tempting to turn in a different direction. Perhaps sensing my mood, grilled sea bass appeared. I was relieved to see the harmony of the autumn taste of shiitake mushrooms and light sea bass.Soon after, the tuna, which had been aged for six weeks, was served. The taste of fermentation, almost like being marinated in miso, was quite an acquired taste, but it was a pleasant surprise. The next dish that shook our palates to the core was Matsugasa-age (fried sweet sea bream). A very Japanese dish is given a Western touch thanks to the balsamic vinegar, mashed potatoes, corn, and tomatoes that accompany it. Westerners may feel relieved here.Just when you thought you had been steered in the direction of the Western style with all your might, the second half of the nigiri-sushi sequence begins. Starting with sea urchin from Hokkaido, followed by horse mackerel (seared) from Oita, sea bream, and striped horse mackerel, it all comes to a close with snow crab soup. The kaleidoscopic variety of dishes makes one feel quite full, but the finale is a hand roll of Negitoro and dried bonito flakes, an elegant roll handed to me by Chef Takeda, and I am deeply moved to think that this is the end of the meal. The final dish of the day was the "Matcha Mousse with Brown Sugar Sauce. If you still have room in your stomach, you can order additional dishes after this.Great experience.“

“The restaurant is cozy, so expect to be close to others while eating. Their sushi, both raw and cooked, is really good, and if you see lobster tail on the menu, it's a must-have. “This seafood market is like the hidden gem of Park Slope, Brooklyn. The sushi here is delicious, fresh, and savory! It's also better priced than the restaurants, and whole foods sushi so you can't beat that!Pisces Fish Market also has a large variety of fresh seafood you can purchase to cook at home.
