“Located north of Radio city hall, there seems to be a new competitor coming up for Adel's famous halal. This place is run by Afghans and they are really warm and welcoming people to their food truck also the service is quick while the food is served hot and fresh.After reading some reviews here, I opted for a chicken chapli kebab platter. Chapli kebab is basically a ethnic Pashtun dish from the border region of Afghanistan-Pakistan. The minced chicken was good while adding the right amount of spices to give a succulent taste, for the first time, I had cumin rice and it tasted good and was a welcome change from the regular saffron rice available elsewhere. These people provided fries alongside salad and topped it with white sauce which had the right amount of thickness while their mint sauce was a welcome addition to this. I don't usually go for the spicy sauce as I'm not a big fan of it.Overall it's a great experience to try something for the first time apart from halal guys and adel's. The big advantage of the food is that it lacks food coloring like adel's and whatever prepared is done in the right way while also the wait time is very less compared to adel's and halal guys.“

“Love birria-landia in brooklyn and decided to come to the roosevelt ave location. This one definitely seems larger as they had a whole section for orders and things. Food is always good but i will say it did get pretty expensive. Downside is that parking in this area is difficult.“

“I'll keep this short and to the point: this is the best burrito I've had in the city hands down, and it's not close. Everything fresh and phenomenally seasoned, the lengua is succulent, the al pastor just the right spicy-sweet mix, I can't wait to try a few more meats. The staff is super friendly and the food comes out quick. As far as ambiance, getting in and out of there in record time is all you really want from a food truck. The best.“

“If you grew up eating chicken over rice at halal carts in the city only to go vegan later in life you've experienced the extreme disappointment that comes with ordering falafel over rice without white sauce. It's a tragedy and a reason never to visit a halal cart again. Not at Sam's. Here the falafel is king and the platter is a shrine to the balls of chickpea. The sides and sauces all pack a punch of flavor and keep you coming back for more. The guys who work the cart are really sweet too. These falafels occupy a place in my heart.“

However, wisp went above & beyond to explain the menu items to me, offered substitutions of rolls to make it GF friendly, and even labeled all of the GF items (including GF soy sauce that I did not even know existed)!“

“Being from southern California, I had high high hopes for this birria and consome and I was not disappointed! A great deal for 3 tacos for $12. Their mulitas were absolutely heavenly and that consome was cooked to perfection I drank the entire thing after dipping my tacos and mulita. We took these to go and sat at a nearby dog park to eat it. There was on line when we went (a Friday at around lunch time) which I was pleasantly surprised by! While we were waiting, another patron eagerly exclaimed that she had been looking for this food truck and wasn't aware that they had moved locations so it's evident this spot is beloved and sought out. Will definitely be returning in the future.“

“Just had an egg, cheese and Turkish sausage on a croissant with small coffee, light and sweet. This hidden gem (because it’s in a parking lot of a gas station, is amazing. “I always hoped for an excellent yakatori spot near Hoboken - never would have guessed it would be a dedicated chef working over red hot coals in front of the Starbucks on Newark. Bless this man.I ordered 2 mushroom skewers & one chicken. Was VERY VERY good. Like, I haven't had skewers this good since hitting up that Michelin star Yakatori spot in the city (I do hope they still exist, its been a while).Admittedly, I've passed by him MANY times before making a purchase. I was always either on my way to a lunch with someone in the city or on my way back from one. This time, funnily enough, I was coming back from having handrolls at a nice place. You'd figure I'd be Japan'd out - nope - there was capacity and I had put it off long enough. Was very much worth it. Don't make the same mistake I did, just go for it.It does take time for him to do his magic - he suggested in the future that I could get the order going in advance by sending a message on Instagram. “So, I had Terry and Yaki outside of Metro Hospital, and it was so good that I questioned why anyone would eat at the fast-food spots or the expensive hospital food. For $12, I got a big bowl of rice and chicken, and it had the perfect portion of sauce and vegetables. “Decent halal food here with good portion sizes. The halal itself was older meat and bit more expensive than normal, but the pita bread was pretty well done. The Gyro was mainly lettuce too. Still a good spot for Halal though and there are many different options. The lamb could be better though, felt like it was warmed up in a microwave, but we did eat it at 3PM so ti could have just been some leftovers.“

“Damn. I should have gotten a picture but THAT’S HOW GOOD IT WAS. We got chicken tacos, an al pastor quesadilla and an asada quesadilla. Everything came with a bunch of guac, was freshly cooked, with good portions, and very (and I mean very) spicy salsa on the side. Al pastor was my fav, but that’s cause I’m a sucker for the savory/sweet. Get anything here and I’m sure it’ll be good.“

“I’ve been going here for over a year whenever I’m in the neighborhood, a solid go-to place for a quick snack or meal. So many arepa options, the corn shell is sweet, warm, and puffy. The passion fruit juice isn’t too sweet, the papelon con limon is very refreshing. The guys are incredibly nice, very generous and personable to their patrons. “This is quite a unique halal food cart. They use different types of spices and ingredients to add their own twist to the halal food cart scene. I ordered the chicken platter with white sauce and hot sauce. The meat was very flavorful and delicious! The spicy rice is also very good, especially when added with the sauces. They pack a lot of food into the container. More than enough for what seems like an entire day worth of food or almost enough to split between two people. The service was great, the staff very friendly and responsive. The price was great for how much food you get.“
