“Lovely people, lovely place, incredibly delicious food! Ingredients are very fresh, often from the local farmers market. There are both very creative dishes and classics on the menu. The Queensboro is a special restaurant that not only cares about the quality of their food and atmosphere, but also sincerely cares about the community.Kid-friendliness: Roomy and fun space that is very comfortable for those bringing children. The staff is super friendly with children as well!“

“Enjoyed date night at the rooftop bar to catch sunset. Amazingly friendly and attentive service. Decent decor with fantastic views. Turns out it's not really a restaurant, they only have small bites of mixed quality -- think spinach artichoke dip, 10" pizzas and shellfish. Cute but not dinner. Super loud/terrible live music ruined the sunset patio, we moved to the other side for ocean views which were more serene. If they had a more full menu and toned down the live music it'd be a gem.“

“We came in by accident when we were riding a ferry from Manhattan. It's a great place. I really liked it here. Interior , dishes . The waiter served us quickly and advised us to try the fish, as I said that I love fish. Indeed, the food here is delicious, so I would like to recommend the restaurant to friends.“

“I have had this bar on my radar since I saw multiple posts about this place on Instagram in the past. I came in for brunch, and I think this place is super cute, and I got such a great view of the water while dining outdoors. Owen was my server, and he was very friendly. The service getting my food and drink was a tad slow, which was understandable as I saw the restaurant was having a private event inside. They have a decent sized menu with reasonable prices, and the Meatlover Omelet I ordered tasted really good. They also make a great bloody mary as well. I was surprised that I didn't have an issue finding street parking in this area as they don't have a parking lot. Overall, I was happy with my first experience, and I will definitely stop in again the next time I drive to the Rockaways.“

“I have been dining at La Flor since they first opened a while ago. Chef Viko is very creative and does a regular menu plus seasonal specials. He uses farmer’s market ingredients and is very generous with the portions. Expect to see very colorful and tasty combinations. The core of the menu here is Mexican food with French and Italian notes. The home made pastries and desserts are a solid plus to the dining experience. The wine list has Ben carefully selected and the moderate prices don’t sacrifice the quality. In all, La Flor is one of my favorites in New York City.Vegetarian options: Salads, seasonal veggies.Dietary restrictions: The chef is very knowledgeable and kind and is willing to accommodate special requests.Kid-friendliness: Family place and everyone is welcome.“

“CASH ONLY SPOT! A good summer/spring spot to hang out outdoors to have a nice beer with a nice view. Its self service, so you order your own drinks at the bar. Not a lot of seatings so I suggest getting here early if you want to secure a seat.“

“The food is always amazing. Today we had fried cheese curds, chicken bites and Brussel sprouts. For dinner, we had burgers and fish and chips. The drinks are terrific! You must try this. It's worth the trip from Manhattan. Service is impeccable!“

“Definitely lived up to the social media hype and no doubt best tavern burger in Queens. One can choose any burger on their extensive burger menu with a side of fries or onion rings for less than 20 bucks, it’s a deal I’m willing to sign up for every day.We went on a Thursday late afternoon and place was energetic and lively, just what you expect from a well-known busy tavern. I can only imagine what it’s like on weekends when they have live band.Donovan’s is the real deal.“

“Great brunch spot! Delicious drinks and food. The ambiance was nice- despite being small, it wasn't loud and didn't feel crowded. The arepas were nicely cooked and my sunny side up eggs were perfect! Loved my Bourbon Bee's Knees. Can't wait to go back and try more drinks and plates.“

“The Flying Fox Tavern exceeded my expectations. I just assumed it was like any other neighborhood bar. But this one stood out for its spooky atmosphere and excellent service. This place is unique in that it serves food and drinks with horror movie-inspired names and shows scary films on their TV screens. The decor is spooky and fun. I didn't try the food, but I have heard great things about it.“

“Great food, but posted hours may be slightly inaccurate. I came on Thursday at 11:55 PM expecting them to serve until 12 AM as advertised, but an employee told me they stop serving at 11:30 PM. They locked up and were out of the store at 11:58 PM. Great food though.“

“Dinner on 02/01/2024.I had eaten at Jackson Hole before in 2015 at the (now closed) Bayside location, and ever since then I have always dreamed of returning here to eat their amazing burger again. For me, the one from Jackson Hole is the best in the world: big, tasty, succulent, I love it!! Also absolutely worth trying is the chilli with grated cheddar on top, a delight. And then the environment: this is the real American diner!! If you come to the USA, this is where you absolutely must eat at least once. You are great!!“

“Great cozy spot for a cold Sunday beer and grilled cheese. We got the Fun-ghi and Figgy Piggy and it was a good mix of sweet and salty. The shop has tons of fine foods for gifts or appetizers, a long fresh cheese bar, and craft beer to go. What more could you need!“

“Yes Mama is one of the best discoveries of Astoria this year!Jessica runs the business all by herself and does a damn good job of it! Not only did she cook homemade Puerto Rican recipes, but she hires entertainment along with having a great selection of wine.I had the Carne Guisada (beef stew with white rice) and it felt like I was eating a mother’s cooking. Paired it with a couple glasses of Rosasera and a lovely Latin jazz band playing in the background and it was heaven. There were even some board games for us the play with while we waited on our food.Topped off the night by splitting a plate of the coquito flan served with the most adorable heart shaped spoons. It was so rich and decadent. If you live in or venture out to Astoria, please please please pay this place a visit! You’ll be so happy you did!“

“I came here for drinks and dancing on a Friday night. There was a $10 cover when we got there around 10:15. They serve food until midnight. Earlier in the evening, they had tables set up, but they were moving those out of the way when we arrived to create more space. It seemed like a drag show had just finished. They had a few bar stools along the walls and kept a couple tables at the back. We got chips and guac. The guac tasted fresh and the chips were nice and crispy. Good portion size as well. Their drink prices were very reasonable. I got a well drink for $9. They also had a few specials like a beer and a shot, also for $9. They had a handful of single occupancy bathrooms, which were relatively clean. The music however was disappointing. It was mostly house music. Decent beats, but very few recognizable songs that you could sing along to. It got decently full, but wasn't overly crowded. Folks generally seemed friendly. A good number of people were dancing. I might consider coming again, but would try to pick a day with a different DJ genre.“

“Loved visiting this place with a friend for brunch! The food was great for the price and it has such a cozy vibe. The drinks are a good price as well during brunch and I would love to come back again alone or with friends. It’s small and the seating is a bit tight but it’s a good place to hang out. Definitely give it a try if you are in the area! The brunch burger was delicious and cooked how I like it but the main star for me were the truffle fries.“

“I've now visited this restaurant twice and say it truly is a gem. The food is exceptional, and the portion sizes are humongous. The atmosphere is no frills, but that's intentional. They focus on what really matters which is delicous food. If you visit pay attention to the specials of the day. That's where the magic really happens.“
“Omg it was so good!!! I have been passing by this place for several years now and telling myself “I must stop by” but they close relatively early since Covid so it’s a bit harder to go. I finally went in today and got the meat burek and it was heavenly. We have something similar in Moldova but I honestly like this version better. Will be stopping by to try the cheese and the spinach and cheese ones. The yogurt is excellent too. Good service!“

“The Tuesday $10 burger and beer deal is the best around. You can get your burger rare, medium, or well done. The burger itself is fine but hey it's $10. Comes with thick steak cut fries, which weren't very crispy and weren't exactly my thing but hey it's $10. You can sub salad for fries which I'll probs do next time. You have the choice between three different beers: sek'end sun lager, sek'end sun ipa, or narragansett. If you don't drink you can sub soda and if you don't eat beef you can sub black bean burger.Tuesday nights as of this review are also mix tape bingo night. The music is low enough to talk while bingo is on, but after the music goes full volume so I guess Sek'end Sun might not really be a chatting bar, or even a screaming bar for those of us who don't have voices that carry or project. I was sitting in the back though, so unsure if the volume level is different at front at the bar. Cool, friendly vibe though with friendly service. Some Sunday nights they have salsa socials that include a lesson and they had a recent swing lesson and social a different Sunday.“

“Had a great night at Mar's! I have been a semi-regular patron for a few years but the other night was special. The food was excellent, the pre-dinner cocktails were very creatve and the staff was lovely to us. We had Steve as a server who was funny, attentive and gave great recommendations. My dining companion said the burger was one of the best she's had. I ordered the Salmon and it was really flavorful and tender. The wines that Steve recommended paired beautifully with our choices. It was a really busy night but didn't feel crowded... the atmosphere was elegant and friendly.“

“A short day and a half stay in Williamsburg/Brooklyn on the way to Berlin. Rolo’s was certainly my most anticipated spot on this tour after seeing their fantastic Eater video and it certainly didn’t disappoint.Their Double Cheeseburger with the $3 Bacon Addition was the most flavorful and wonderfully textured burger I’ve had in years. The pickled pepper made for an interesting off-beat accompaniment. The polenta bread was simple but delicious. A layer of polenta with olive oil and sea salt, could eat that all day.I also ordered a Strawberry Passionfruit Punsch, which was served in a small goblet. Nice blend of rum, strawberry cordial, passion fruit and lime tiki bitters. There are quite a few more dishes I’d like to try at Rolo’s. Unfortunately for me, Rolo’s in in a different time zone. But I’m glad I got a chance to try it.“
