“I had an amazing time at this speakeasy! My group of 4 had a reservation.I think the expectations are pretty clear- if you expect to walk-in to an exclusive speakeasy, go early; if you're wish to go later, get a resy. People will be turned away if they're at capacity, especially if a big reservation is booked. It doesn't matter if your friends are inside- they have to follow code. The vibe is REALLY fun- it feels like a swanky house party with awesome music and drinks. I think the service was great for how busy it was. I only drank is beers, but my friends had fun cocktails and shots. Everyone is so friendly. They also put a gratuity charge on larger party's bills, so that's helpful.I love speakeasies. Cannot recommend RRLIC enough!“

“Definite GEM in Astoria. Mature crowd, great cocktail lineup and craft beers along with really good bar bites. Before mentioned is the perfect recipe for a great local establishment. Parking around the area is a bit difficult but nonetheless definitely worth a trip, or two, or three.“

“I have had this bar on my radar since I saw multiple posts about this place on Instagram in the past. I came in for brunch, and I think this place is super cute, and I got such a great view of the water while dining outdoors. Owen was my server, and he was very friendly. The service getting my food and drink was a tad slow, which was understandable as I saw the restaurant was having a private event inside. They have a decent sized menu with reasonable prices, and the Meatlover Omelet I ordered tasted really good. They also make a great bloody mary as well. I was surprised that I didn't have an issue finding street parking in this area as they don't have a parking lot. Overall, I was happy with my first experience, and I will definitely stop in again the next time I drive to the Rockaways.“

“CASH ONLY SPOT! A good summer/spring spot to hang out outdoors to have a nice beer with a nice view. Its self service, so you order your own drinks at the bar. Not a lot of seatings so I suggest getting here early if you want to secure a seat.“

“This is such a great local bar! It has everything. During week nights, the bar has a casual atmosphere where you can bring a date or grab a drink with friends. It's dimly lit and the string lights hanging up above offer an intimate and cozy glow. During certain time of year the host events, such as a weekly movie nights throughout the winter. On weekends, typically after 10 you'll find a dj and a packed bar area. If loud bars with lots of people is your late night going out jam, the ditty is a great one to add to your list. If you're like me and that's not your scene, opt for a week night or before 10/11 on a weekend. My one area of improvement for the ditty is their cocktail list. They don't offer a huge variety and it feels like the kind of bar that should. If they added 3-5 more craft cocktails to their menu I think it would be a huge improvement.“

“Pata Paean is well known for having the most delicious boat noodle in NYC!!! Let's me tell you all, it is deserved its reputation. The tastes is very original, The moment that I sipped the broth from Numtok noodles (boat noodles), I felt like it already took me to Thailand. Not only that Tomyum noodle soup also other favorite one. I can't have enough those noodles. Also the service is in timely manner. All worker there are very friendly and attentive. I always love the music that they played as a background. Also the decoration represent the noodle shop in Thailand.10 out 10!!!!Recommend to all who love Thai's food and noodle. Also I recommend order the small bowl of boat noodles to experience more authentic version of boat noodles because in Thailand bowl noodles usually served in small bowl. Don't worry you can order more and more of course. I always order like 3 bowl. Very delicious, and wonderful dining experience.“

“Came on a Friday night and it was not too busy. We ordered the volcano momos and the goat curry set. Enjoyed the variety of small dishes that accompanied the goat curry and rice, including the potatoes, papadam was amazing, pickled radish and the yogurt dessert. The momo fillings were nice, we hoped that the volcano soup is more hot and spicy.“

“We were in the area and decided to search for bars. This came up on a “Hidden Bars” list and we were just steps away. It took us a while to find it though but once we figured it out, it was a spectacular experience! The owner Lee was great. We talked, had drinks, laughed and enjoyed everything thing about it!“

“Great brunch spot! Delicious drinks and food. The ambiance was nice- despite being small, it wasn't loud and didn't feel crowded. The arepas were nicely cooked and my sunny side up eggs were perfect! Loved my Bourbon Bee's Knees. Can't wait to go back and try more drinks and plates.“

“The Flying Fox Tavern exceeded my expectations. I just assumed it was like any other neighborhood bar. But this one stood out for its spooky atmosphere and excellent service. This place is unique in that it serves food and drinks with horror movie-inspired names and shows scary films on their TV screens. The decor is spooky and fun. I didn't try the food, but I have heard great things about it.“

“Awesome spot for a casual or semi-casual date night or lunch. There's a bar and many food-hall style restaurants to choose from. My favorite is Täim, but I've had food from almost all of the vendors and they all have good options.Vegetarian options: Taïm has great vegetarian options (build your own bowls and pita sandwiches), super flavorful food. There's also a pizza place that has vegetarian options, a good juice bar, and I think nearly every other spot has at least one or two vegetarian options.“

And the owner is super cool and inviting.“

“Come visit New York. I want to eat mixed fermented pork. Someone just recommended this shop. So I ordered several menus. I have to admit that the fermented fermented pork at the restaurant is very delicious and the Thai salted egg salad has a perfectly mellow taste, but.. the papaya salad with crab and fermented fish and the Tam Mua are a bit too salty. Reducing the saltiness would be very good. But overall it's okay.“

“Went there on a chilly rainy dull weekday night and oh boy did the place lift up my mood! ? A large beer selection (plus ciders and wines) at a great price and hearty German food. My husband and I had a big appetite and ordered a giant pretzel with cheese, 3 different bratwursts with sauerkraut, purple cabbage and a side of potato salad. By the end of our sumptuous meal we were so full that we almost had to be rolled out. All staff were very kind and professional and gave us excellent recommendations. I would go back just for their hofbrau original and classic brat (and well, yes their potato salad too).“

“Gottscheer Hall is a fixture of Ridgewood and has been for decades. It does an excellent job at bridging the gap between the old neighborhood and the infusion of the new crowd in a way in which everyone feels welcome. The food is excellent and reasonably priced and their selection of German beer pretty much guarantees something for everyone. The bartenders are also the best in the area, friendly, personable and great to chat with while sipping on a cold one. I've made many memories and friends in that place from all walks of life. I recommend it to everyone. Easy 5 stars. Check it out!“

“I came here for drinks and dancing on a Friday night. There was a $10 cover when we got there around 10:15. They serve food until midnight. Earlier in the evening, they had tables set up, but they were moving those out of the way when we arrived to create more space. It seemed like a drag show had just finished. They had a few bar stools along the walls and kept a couple tables at the back. We got chips and guac. The guac tasted fresh and the chips were nice and crispy. Good portion size as well. Their drink prices were very reasonable. I got a well drink for $9. They also had a few specials like a beer and a shot, also for $9. They had a handful of single occupancy bathrooms, which were relatively clean. The music however was disappointing. It was mostly house music. Decent beats, but very few recognizable songs that you could sing along to. It got decently full, but wasn't overly crowded. Folks generally seemed friendly. A good number of people were dancing. I might consider coming again, but would try to pick a day with a different DJ genre.“

“I really like sandwiches, especially the classic Italian ones you get at places like Sal Kris and Charlie’s in Astoria, where I’ve lived for most of my life. When I see new, trendy spots popping up, I’m often skeptical because I wonder if they focus more on looking cool than making tasty food. So, I walked into this new place on a Saturday afternoon and ordered my usual – an Italian sandwich. To my surprise, they had some unique options on the menu, like a ramen sandwich and a couple of Texas-style BBQ ones. While waiting for my order, I noticed a lively brunch crowd with music playing in the background – a nice vibe. The guy taking my order was nice too. When I got my sandwich home, it was bigger and looked different from what I’m used to at the typical Italian deli. But that was okay because it was genuinely unique, and I hadn’t tasted anything like it before. They did a good job combining different styles and putting their own spin on it. I think the aioli was made it extra special. That being said… I recommend giving it a cry. I’m curious to try more sandwiches from there in the near future!“

“I've now visited this restaurant twice and say it truly is a gem. The food is exceptional, and the portion sizes are humongous. The atmosphere is no frills, but that's intentional. They focus on what really matters which is delicous food. If you visit pay attention to the specials of the day. That's where the magic really happens.“

“came to myrtle pub in Ridgewood with a few friends after work and this low key pub is cool. Place has a retro weird funny decor vibe going on but any bar serving hot dogs and popcorn when you order a drink is fine and dandy with me . Plenty of space to lounge about as I grabbed a seat near the back space as my boys sat at the bar drinking and gabbing it up . Even if you don't drink much , this pub is still worth the visit to chill with your peeps and relax a while . Nothing fancy , no bells and whistles and that's ok .“

“Still delicious Trini spot with Indian/chinese based Caribbean food. My personal favorite is the stewed chicken roti in a bust up shot and their epic doubles. Don't forget to add a bit of pepper sauce, tamarind sauce and cucumber. There's also a variety of sweets and drinks to top off your meal.“

“This was the first time I had been to Rippers in eight years and it is still as good as it was in 2015. The burgers are so flavorful and juicy and came with a special sauce with cheese, lettuce and tomato. It tasted so good. The Fries were topped with salt, pepper and spices. They really have a great flavor and really don't need ketchup. The one thing is that they give you a very generous portion and are perfect for sharing. The view of the shore is amazing and it is nice to hear the waves crashing while you are eating. It puts you in the mood and you can just relax.“
