“Wandered in here at 2:30 in the morning when everything else was closed. Got the mapo tofu and some dumplings and it was fantastic. Service was great too. I have quite literally never left a review for any restaurant before, but had such a positive experience I wanted to spread the word.“

“I was in New York City to visit my parents in January 2024. Obviously, I then had to meet up with close friends that I don't normally get to see every day. One of my foodie friends and I decided to meet up. We always try to go to a new place that we both haven't tried - and we ended up here at Cheli. Cheli is a Chinese Restaurant (specifically Shanghainese) located in East Village (Manhattan) and Flushing (Queens). My friend, his girlfriend, and I went to the Flushing Location. According to their website, Che Li presents a distinctive dining experience, weaving together the rich tapestry of Song Dynasty banquet culture with the authentic and sophisticated flavors of Shanghai cuisine. Their culinary philosophy is deeply rooted in the heritage of Jiangnan--a region known for its delicate beauty, culinary finesse, and the origin of Shanghai's gastronomic excellence. Characterized by its subtle yet profound flavors, meticulous preparation, and elegant presentation, their cuisine pays tribute to this heritage while celebrating the refined communal spirit of Song Dynasty feasts. We were all super excited to try! Between the 3 of us, we tried the following: - Wine Soaked Chicken - Crab Meat and Pork Soup Dumplings - Sweet and Sour Crispy Eel - Nine Spiced Rabbit - Hot Stone Braised Rice (mushroom) - Sauteed Water Spinach - Black Sesame Sticky Rice Balls - Rose Lemonade Super fun and feels like an authentic experience. My friend had to order in Chinese - and I obviously pointed to the menu to order since my Chinese skills are limited. Never been to China but I would imagine the decor is pretty representative. Food, service, ambiance were A+. ENJOY!!“

“The second I walked in, the aroma of the restaurant was telling me that the food would be good. I showed up on a 9 PM Saturday and it was almost a full house! Very busy. Lots of spicy food here! Be sure to wash it down with some coconut milk.I got the Flounder Filet with Spicy Garlic Sauce, which was truly INCREDIBLE! Tender milky fish, with minimal vegetables. The garlicky sauce was so flavorful and not unbearably spicy. I could eat the sauce alone with rice because it was so tasty! I highly recommend. This was a huge portion, but I almost finished it by myself because it was so addicting.“

“Great hotpot but I think it’s more worth it to go to AYCE. Spent $66 per person here and I wasn’t even that full. Beef is definitely less fatty and fresh here though! The free ice cream was delightful. And of course, service was amazing, especially with the performances.“

Trust us, its so yummy and a deal you don't want to miss! With their beautiful and spacious restaurant, Xiang Hotpot is the ultimate party destination!“

“I came here due to a recommendation from a friend. The spicy dumplings are good, but are not spicy. I wish they had more od a kick. Besides that, they are really good and they give you a good portion for the price. I would go back, but I ask to make them spicier.“
“Meat on skewer is one of the best late night snacks. This food cart has a variety of skewers to choose from. I always go with the bbq one. They recently added grilled cold noodle to their menu: I like the texture of the noodle, but don't really like the sauce. They take cash only and open from late afternoon to around midnight, near grand ave station. You can wechat them to order in advanced so you don't have to wait for them to cook in the cold.“

“Food was amazing! They're so delicious. Great portion too, especially for the affordable prices. Service was nice. They were understaffed, but the staff that were there had great attitude. The ambience is just like your typical neighborhood restaurant, feels authentic without the extra fluff. It was overall a nice experience.“

“Liuyishou Hot Pot is a pretty laid back spot for some really good hot pot options. They have many meats and vegetables as well as different kinds of soups to try for your pot(s). This restaurant also has a really solid number of appetizers, snacks, and sauces you can create and plate then add to your table. A very wide selection with fried chicken, pig ear, dough with dipping sauce, etc. The hot pot was very tasty and all the meats we tried were great, and the price was not too bad either. Service was excellent.“

“As you walk in the Restaurant, you immediately get a homey atmosphere in this place! The food was served very quickly. The Authentic Taiwanese Beef Noodle Soup is excellent as the broth is very thick and flavorful. The beef that they use is half tendon half meat, which is the best combo that a merchant can use when preparing this dish! Overall, the food is excellent! I would definitely come back again! As a bonus, their pickled cabbage and peanuts side dish are excellent too!“

“If you are looking for a warm bowl of goodness on a cold day, this is where it's at. I'm a big fan of rice noodles over wheat noodles as they are lighter and doesn't put me in an instant food coma. Decided to give this place a try vs my usual spot (Ten Seconds Noodle) and it did not disappoint. In comparison, the broth felt more healthy and nutrient at Deng Ji Yun Nan with the added herbs. The menu is quite large but well presented with plenty of photos for reference. I liked how spacious the interior was with all the light wooden accents.“

“Been here a few times, and so glad that this place continues to offer Uyghur food in the heart of Flushing. Mostly have come here so far for their beef/lamb pockets in the setting of a Food Crawl and it's always an interesting fun moment for everyone. While the most recent time we went the meat was not the most tender, it's kind of like an empanada with middle eastern and Chinese flavors combined into one. It wasn't spicy at all, and the onions added a nice touch. The workers are nice and it's def worth a stop because who knows where else you'll be able to find food like this? Definitely want to come back to try the rest of their items. NYC beats other big cities in that we offer a ton of diversity, represented in our food culture and the fact that we have Uyghur food is a blessing, so take advantage of it.“
“I'm from Hong Kong and have lived and traveled all over China, and there's not a better Chinese restaurant than this. My son and I have been going there almost every Saturday lunch for 3 years, and we're sooooo sad they're gone“

“Best thing here is the wontons, which is obvious given the name of the place. The other stuff is just okay but still quite a gem to the neighborhood . We need more Cantonese comfort food !! Have only gotten takeout so I cannot speak on dine in service but food was always made in a timely manner.“

“Delicious food with good portions and a reasonable price! The large basa fish with add on of beef slices was enough for 3 of us. The signature broth was so good and so was the cucumber appetizer too. The service is fast and they have a cute robot that helps carry the food. Highly recommend!“

“Cash only. There is a parking lot in the back of the restaurant. This is my go to spot for Taiwanese pork chop over rice when I'm in the area. I've done both take out and dine in and the food is consistent. Pork chop is crispy; add an egg. Besides the Taiwanese pork chop over rice, the Stinky Tofu and the Clams with Basil were good as well.“

“En route to a Mets game grabbing assorted eats-to-go in downtown Flushing. Entered the spacious New York Food Court and spotted Lanzhou Hand Pulled Noodles. Recalled that Lanzhou cuisine was similar to Xi'an and have been a fan of Xi'an Famous Foods since they opened years ago in Manhattan. With noodles potentially a difficult item to eat in the Citi Field stands, decided to order a $7 Lamb "Burger," also recalling Xi'an's tasty cumin seasoned ones. Similarly spiced and pieces of meat vs. a formed burger, Lanzhou's was absolutely flavorful, but the stiff bun, which reminded me of an extremely dense, untoasted English muffin, fought the meat. (See pic.) That being said, would definitely come back to try next time Lanzhou's hand pulled noodles.“

“They are opening more stores here (new one in tangram) because they are so good. I usually get the handripped stewed pork (not spicy) and its always great. I recommend this place to anyone visiting NYC, you have to try it at least once. The stewed pork/lamb burgers are also top notch.“

“We are running 2 mins late at 7:02pm before they close. The owner and the sister are so gentle and friendly that they reopened the crepe iron just for us when they theoretically cleaned up everything; the foods are delicious and I believe it well worth my time driving 2 hrs from Hartford here just for the crepes! Recommend Wangzhongwang crepe and garlic ham crepe with seaweeds and eggs“

“My go to spot when I take a trip to Flushing. Yes, the food does need a little salt but I enjoy the sweetness of the ingredients that I do not add any. They also have the plastic take out containers now, so I'm able to stock up on the soups. Great spot for nourishing soup that reminds me of how grandma used to make it (with herbs and all).“

“Great chinese food. Much better than the average takeout place, for only a few bucks more. They charge extra 1$ for rice unlike alot of places and dont give any sort of crispy wontons to start which would be nice but the dishes taste very very good and for that reason i keep returning.“

“Last summer, my friends and I dropped by here for breakfast. We got the hong kong style milk tea, soy sauce fried noodles, sliced fish congee, secret peanut sauce rice roll, dough stick rice roll(炸两), pork liver with chives rice roll, and curry combo. The sliced fish congee was thick and not too watery. I really enjoyed the mixed peanut sauce rice roll, dough stick rice roll, and curry combo which came with fish balls, squid, and pork skin. It seemed everything was made fresh to order. The pork liver rice roll was very silky but I wasn't a big fan of pork liver. I will try different rice rolls next time.“

“Went to eat at the first Crab Bao on the left?Yellow croaker and crab roe soaked rice in golden soup-?23The portion is really big, even two girls can’t finish one portion of the rice (you can take it home and continue eating)Jiangsu Nannan really likes to eat vegetable pickled rice. This pickled rice can be seen everywhere with crab roe, plus minced vegetables, tender fish and soft soaked rice.Understand the gold content of this bowl! There are a lot of pickles, vinegar and shredded ginger on the side of the soaked rice. It has a unique flavor when eaten with soaked rice!?Crab Roe Noodles (Extreme Edition)-?27.55I was stunned as soon as it came. A big bowl full of crab roe + crab meat. I took a scoop and put it in my mouth. The salty and delicious fragrance filled my taste buds. I was so satisfied after thinking about hairy crabs for two years! However, the portion of the Supreme Edition is too large, and girls generally cannot eat it.?Pure shrimp spring rolls-?2.95/piece Crab roe and shrimp spring rolls-?3.95/pieceThese two spring rolls are also worth talking about. Even though each one is expensive, every bite is full of shrimps and crabs! Served with spring roll wrappers, this bite is extremely satisfying!Recommended to go there next time!“

“Here's the low down - This is the best wonton in downtown Flushing. Yes, better than Maxi's (which is good too!) and here's why. Maxi's wonton is all shrimp and gigantic so why is this one better? In my opinion the 'big land fish' 大地魚 incorporated into this wonton is a better flavor profile. It's not TikTok famous but it doesn't have to be because the locals know.“

“Known as "Party BBQ" in English: Located on Broadway, between 45th Ave & Whitney Ave., in Elmhurst (in front of the Asian Supermarket which has its own parking lot). This BBQ lot has been here for years and has quite a large following. There's always a line of ppl patiently waiting for their BBQ goodness! On this Tuesday evening at around 7:30pm, it was no exception; there were about 8 ppl on line. But don't let that deter you from ordering your BBQ Skewers! The line moves surprisingly quickly. This is a one man show and he was hustling! Kudos to the hardworking gentleman making our BBQ Kebabs, and don't forget to tip him!On this visit, we tried their Beef and Lamb Kebabs ($1.75 each). We asked for the kebabs with cumin and extra spicy. These were so flavorful and delicious! My only complaint is that some pieces were very fatty but very good nonetheless.I will definitely be looking for this cart the next time I'm in the area. Looking forward to trying their other skewers! (See my photos for their menu offerings).“

“Always been my go to place for indo-chinese food. It is a cash only place so keep that in mind but that is literally the only downside. Been here almost 10 times over last few years and the food always tastes the same. The food has right amount of spice in it and wont leave you complaining.“
“Pretty good Fuzhou cuisine restaurant. Come here for your typical peanut noodles, Fuzhou wonton and fish balls. Price has increased but still reasonable overall. They’ve been around for a very long time. Now it’s newly renovated. There are no bathrooms. Pretty much can’t find parking in this area.“

“Came here on a Wednesday night around 7pm and didn't have to wait around for a table. In fact, it was actually pretty empty but quickly filled up the later it got. My friend and I were greeted by a friendly staff who offered us hot tea and took our order before offering us complimentary side dishes. (They're unlimited btw). We ordered the beef tripes and pork belly along with a dish of glass noodles with vegetables to balance out all the meat orders. Much to our surprise, they were all actually pretty good! The staff are quite attentive in that they do come by every so often to make sure your meat is cooked. (All cooked via charcoal) Best of all, they offered complimentary fried bread with a side of condensed milk! Pricing was a bit high and kind of shocked us when the bill for 2 came to a bit over $100 (with tips). We didn't order that much but I guess it added up quicker than we had thought but you're paying for the quality and service!“

“Ordered in last night and the food was really great. Honestly I don't know how they were able to deliver the soup dumplings so hot. Those usually don't travel well, but these were hot and light & delicious. Chicken and eggplant were also hot and fresh and tasty. Special fried rice, scallion pancake and dumplings in peanut sauce were great as well. The best part was no MSG as I often get a headache from that. Friendly delivery person as well!“

“The sky was grey, the day chilly, my stomach begging for something filling and warm. We walked past this place and oh did the fragrance of the soups beckon! It was love at first sip. Simple and plain. The wife got the chicken and fish maw special, I the bone soup with beef.Is it the best around? No. Is it the cheapest around? No. But I don't think you can get such nice soups and serving sizes at this price range anywhere else.Give it a try, I didn't regret it.“
“The most fun and engaging Omakase you'll ever experience. Talk about fun, raunchy and in your face . One hour experience without having to worry about behavior, matter of fact, the staff wants you to be loud and let loose. I've been to many Omakse around the $100 range but nowhere is this much fun. If you haven't experienced Sushi On Me then shame on you. I applaud the staff there for coming up with a party Omakase concept and I can't wait to be back. In closing, forget your mild mannered Omakase and just let it loose here or at their Brooklyn location.“
“Dumplings were really good. The skin is on the thinner side which imo shows more expertise but also is less filling. But healthier because less carbs? I think it turned out to be like $1/dumpling or something which is on the expensive side. They also charge 50c for their chilli oil which I thought was just okay, LGM is good enough. Also, other dumpling places give out the chilli oil for free...It was a cold snowy day and this was closest to me, but if it was a nice day, I'd probably venture further out for cheaper dumplings.“

“The service was top notch! Came on a Saturday for lunch and it was surprisingly not too crowded. All the dishes were super authentic Beijing cuisine. If you get the duck set, they would offer to either deep fry the carcass or make it into a porridge. We picked deep fry and loved it. The desserts also all look cute and interesting while tasting great. We were trying to hit the minimum for special seating, but the portion was very decent, so we took home enough leftovers for a second meal.“

“This place is a bit of a walk from the main hub of Flushing, but it was definitely worth the trek. Came here for a weeknight dinner. We ordered two entrees and an app to share. The app we ordered was the pumpkin mochi cakes, and they were hot and delicious - we were so excited to try them that we forgot to take photos! The entrees were also very flavorful, especially the sliced cured pork with dried string beans and dried radish. I was afraid that a dish with those ingredients would be too salty, but they were able to balance the flavors just right. Would absolutely order that dish again. Service was quick and friendly, and you definitely get value for money at this resto. Would recommend if you are looking for delicious Hunan food while getting away from the usual crowded spots in central Flushing.“
“Although there was a bit of a language barrier, staff seemed friendly, inviting and tried their best to answer my questions. I tried their "fried" potato dish that was a little too spicy for me & not what I expected at all. Along with potatoes it had cilantro, peppers, mushrooms and other veggies. On the other hand, their Lo Mein won me over! Served in large portions and being inexpensive, it was a yes for me.“

“Dim Sum was great! Service was good too. The staff talked minimally to us, but they were quick to take away finished plates and replace tea without us asking. Staff started speaking to me in Chinese, and I'm not fluent but it was no issue communicating in English - whether I asked for specific dishes (then the staff called over the person with the cart) or asked for more napkins. Disclaimer: I didn't order any ala carte dishes, so I can't speak to those. But the food we ordered from the carts were really delicious. Even the tea was great! I liked how many of the dishes came with 4 pieces, as many places just have 3. (An even number is easier to share and more common as dining parties I think!!) Even the sticky rice in bamboo comes with 4 separate pieces, which makes it easy to portion out with larger groups. I'd say the turnip cake (luo bo gao) was not fresh and at room temperature, so I'd recommend getting the dishes where you see the steam coming off; are kept in the carts that are heated. Great food and service!! Will definitely be coming back.“
