“The ambiance is stylish and comfortable, and the dishes are exquisite? We chose the ?$100 pp Omakase for 2 and also ordered a few appetizers and nigiri a la carte. The appetizers include a steamed egg—soft and smooth, with the sauce flavor just right—you can order it with added Uni.Since every ingredient was so fresh and sweet, we couldn't resist ordering more scallop, uni, and wagyu nigiri to satisfy our cravings~The cocktails were fruity and very professionally made?. The dessert's cheesecake has sesame flavor?Check this place out‼️“

“Found an amazing hidden gem in Astoria, Queens! It’s a secret speakeasy tucked away at the back of a poke shop. The staff and owners are incredibly friendly and welcoming. We tried their 14-course omakase with sake for $98 per person, and also added the optional uni ikura don for $25. The quality of the fish blew us away - so fresh, flavorful, and delicious! Highly recommend checking it out if you’re in the neighborhood.“

“Best Omakase in NY, period!I’ve pretty much tried every Michelin star (including Masa) Japanese restaurant in NY. They don’t come anywhere near the quality of food and service to Koyo. We’re here every month now. Hope they get a Michelin star soon!“

“Sushi chef was heavy on the fish. Staff were adorably kind. Place is small and neat. Most decent sushi place in the entire neighborhood.I got the salmon dinner and an uni sushi. It comes with a side of either miso soup or salad. I could not finish it and had a cute little to go box for my leftovers.Price is a bit steep since I chose a moderately expensive dish plus the uni which was market price. There are more affordable options on their menu.“

“The food was amazing, especially given the price for such a menu outside of Japan and the quality of the products. The service was also very friendly and the sakes are a steal.Seating at the counter and having the chef handing you the different courses was amazing. The service was discrete but very friendly when we opened to them.It was our last night in New York and a great way to end on a high note for a very reasonable price in the western hemisphere.“

“Came for lunch omakase $65 for 12 pieces, really great set and fresh! They showed us photos of some of the fishes and the names which was nice. Located inside JacX&Co on 2nd floor, there were other food vendors downstairs and a bar. Service was nice and attentive!“

“Sooo good! It felt so homey in there and they had so much variety. Service was fantastic and timely, I came with some friends and we had so much food to go around. The appetizers came first and we were warmly surprised by the amount of food we had go around. All the flavors were on point and my fav was the drunken noodle, flavored to perfection. Super chill in there and would definitely go again!“

“This is a small little restaurant right at the heart of Astoria and out of such a big melting pot of cuisine. JJ's Fusion stands out as having amazing food that is always very fresh. I personally love ordering their sushi along with some other courses. I have never been let down by the food, the staff, or the establishment whatsoever. Highly recommended. “Katsuno is a true gem of a place. It’s easily my favorite restaurant of my life. I love everything about it. The food, the service, the aura of the place, the jazz that plays while you eat. The food is authentic, good quality and made with skill and love. The menu is quite traditional and simple made with beautiful technique and feels like you are in Japan. I am so happy this place exists in Queens.“

“Delicious kimbap! Perfect for an affordable lunch, picnic, etc. Think it's my current fav in Flushing. My third visit - picked up the mushroom, Princess, bulgogi kimbaps today and they were all excellent. The rice is the perfect texture and I so appreciate the older woman who makes them. She's a kimbap veteran for sure and it's great to be able to support a local small business!“

“I came here for my 3 year anniversary dinner and was not disappointed! The cowboy roll was amazing, definitely the best sushi I’ve had in Ridgewood ! (I’ve lived here all my life - 20 years) Both the NY strip steak and filet mignon were amazing also. Everything was well cooked, seasoned , and plated and all the ingredients were very fresh! We also had hibachi fried rice which was delicious as well and the tempura green tea ice cream did not disappoint. We ordered a lot and really enjoyed everything we had. The service was good and the ambiance is cute for a date or outing with friends. Definitely will be coming back and ordering takeout soon!“

“Great little spot! A Dimond in the rough here. Walk in, and 2 things right off the bat will impress you. The place is very clean, and the smell is of fresh sushi. There Alot of so-called sushi restaurants that may mask the sushi smells or just not try and come off of bad fish. This shop is not one to mask anything they are doing a great job of keeping the food fresh on a daily ? basis. Based on smell and cleanliness alone, they get 5 stars! The lemonade is made fresh and squeezed right in front of you, but ... yes, there's a small, but here, ask for extra sugar. You will thank me later. I'll be going back again very soon.“

“I ordered delivery through Uber eats last night and I was definitely impressed with presentation of food.. chirashi was beautifully presented as you can see in the picture and fishes were very fresh.. they could provide bit more rice though.. this is the smallest rice I ever seen in chirashi. Also, I ordered spicy salmon maki but they sent regular salmon maki which wasn't a huge deal but still bit disappointed.“

“Sushi yoshi was one of the only spots open before noon so we gave it a shot! Everything was fresh - exactly what you might want from the spicy rolls and the eel avocado was definitely our favorite. Don’t sleep on the Korean fried wings - the texture was crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside. We were hoping for the spicy wings but got original instead I think - either way they were quality and delivery was fast.“

“This is my second review on saying a sushi place is top 3! And by far, they have some of the BEST sushi anywhere I've ever been. Their sushi was the first time I ate sushi all those years ago, and it has been INCREDIBLE every time. The workers there are so kind and so respectful, and the dine in presentation is amazing. An example is the teriyaki chicken's presentation that you don't want to miss.“

“My first experience with Yetnal Tongdak and the original fried whole chicken was very good. Crispy skin and moist meat. If they’re able to maintain this consistency, I’m sure they’ll stay in business for a long time. I added both mayo and sweet spicy sauce on the side. They were kind enough to send a small amount of sliced onion that normally goes with their mayo sauce chicken. Their pickled radish is just right for my taste. Not too sweet and not too bland. Can’t wait to try their jokbal next time.“

“I took my girlfriend here on a whim, she just wanted sushi. Ended up being the best sushi she’s had in Queens. The $60 omakase was so good we actually went back maybe a week later, which is really saying something cause we always try to go somewhere different. If you’re looking for a good meal at a place that doesn’t get crazy busy in the Astoria area - definitely worth it. Also the chicken katsu is awesome, it’s like two huge chicken pieces cut up.“

“Food and service was outstanding. We tried the fresh tofu and edamame for our starters. The fresh tofu came in a jar and was served with scallions, ginger and soy-dashi sauce. I have never experienced tofu like this and it was amazing! We proceeded to order 5 different sushi rolls starting with the panko-crusted eel roll off of the special list. It was incredibly crunchy and the ingredients were fresh. At the conclusion of our meal, we were offered dessert and then complimentary hot tea. The ambiance was upbeat and chill. We noted that the music selection included Pink Martini. Would definitely return!“

“The service is great, the food is delicious and the presentation is even better! I ordered their lunch chicken teriyaki Benton box . A plate like this would cost $35 plus dollars in Manhattan but in Jamaica NY it was less than $20.The picture doesn’t include the Thai tea I ordered and the salad that comes with the bento box.The place is clean and the food presentation is exceptional.“

“The owner is so nice! Since my partner and I are both teachers, a lot of the time we get there late and miss the ordering window. Instead, the owner told us to call him whenever we wanted sushi and he'd have it ready for us! Not only this, but the sushi always tastes and looks amazing! Highly recommend paying this business a visit.“

“Everything was fine the place was busy on Friday night. The only thing I don't like is that they don't bring all appetizers at once and also the entrees. It is weird if you have a party of 5 not to be served at once. The same was actually with drinks. They brought 5 drinks in 3 separate trips. Otherwise it was fine.“

“Food: we got tonkatsu ramen and some rolls— both great! The ramen broth was kind of creamy (in a bone brothy way) but very light. My favorite roll was the spicy salmon— it was so flavorful!!Service: this may be because we had an early dinner, but the staff was exceptionally attentive, friendly, and sweet— I think that’s what really took our experience to the next level!!Atmosphere: we sat outside with our dog (we called first and they were welcoming of her!!) and loved the individual booth style. I feel like it’s very rare that you have privacy when dining outdoors these days, and it was just the cherry on top. There’s about as much outdoor seating as there is indoors + I saw a private room/event space in the back of the restaurant! It’s such a convenient location near the waterfront. We will definitely be back :))“

“Unfortunately my favorite sushi spot closed near my job so I have been on a hunt to find a new sushi spot for lunch. My coworker recommended this place so I placed an order for pick up. Although it is not as close as I want to my job, I still made the walk. I order 3 rolls for $18 which is way more than I used to pay for at my previous sushi spot. I ordered their spicy crab, futomaki and eel avocado roll. The rolls were made beautiful and were not small. The rolls themselves were absolutely delicious and fresh. Although I won't be ordering from here as often as I would like due to the price, this will be my new local sushi lunch spot.“

“The only place in the area it was busy with take out orders when we stopped in on a Monday evening. We had the Mongolian beef with fried rice... not bad but a bit salty. The salmon naturo roll was good, I just prefer it made smaller. I enjoyed the salmon tempura roll very much.“

“I love this place. Ordered the sashimi bento box. The fish was fresh and awesome! I ate way too much. The box had dumplings, sushi rolls, salad, seaweed salad, rice, and soup. All for $25. This place is small, with seating for only 7-8 people. It is right off the 52nd St. station on the 7 train line. If you pay cash, they give you a discount.“

“One of my favorite local sushi spots. They offer the most generous portions at affordable prices. Always get their $55 Party Platter that you can pick 6 different rolls. Other places could easily charge way more. The owners are super nice. Will always be my #1 takeout place for home events.“

“Amazing food. To be honest, I am not the type of person who eats raw food but this restaurant still keeps me hanging out with my friends, most of them like to eat raw fish. “I went for their lunch special of two rolls for $11.95. It comes with miso soup or salad. I opted for the miso soup which was passable. I ordered the tuna avocado and salmon avocado rolls. They were good but wasn't the best I've ever had. The fish was fresh, no fishy smell or taste, and just the right amount of rice around the seaweed. The avocado added an element of creaminess that complemented the soft fish. The rice was a touch hard, however. The service was good. The waitress was attentive. The inside was neat and dimly lit for atmosphere. Not bad for a quick sushi lunch if you're in the area.“

“Pros: Hostess and waiters were helpful and very attentive! Good and fresh sushi. I also had the rock shrimp appetizer which was really good. The drinks made without sake are good.Cons: The hot chicken wings was not much effort. It’s just fried large wings with Tabasco sauce on the side—if you want wings avoid $12 here and get the Chinese restaurants honey wings instead from any Chinese spot in the area. The drinks made with sake are not well balanced.“
