“A group of four, we ordered chicken tikka mughlai, chicken saag, lamb bhuna, and aloo bhindi (potato and okra). The last dish was not on the menu but my wife asked for the combination and they quickly obliged. All the dishes were very good. My favorite was the chicken tikka mughlai. Service was good and very friendly.“

“I believe it was the owner that took care of me and my baby today. He was super kind and attentive. The food was also amazing and I didn’t think the nine month old was going to even share it with me. He was so excited. We will definitely be back. The garlic naan was also delicious and we also had the raita“

“Went Sunday for the buffet, which was terrific. The place indeed is a bit worn and definitely could use a refresh, and there is little service, but the food is very tasty. My favorite was the Gobhi Manchurian, a fried cauliflower dish, but everything I tried was delicious. The buffet was replenished often, so the food was fresh and hot. I look forward to returning.“

“The food was really good! It's definitely a cozy fit with the group I went with but we all enjoyed the food and variety of flavors. It's also awesome that you can choose the level of spiciness. As someone who love spice, it's a great boon to the experience.“

“Absolutely loved the Chicken Tikka Masala at this local Indian gem! The Chicken was tender (thin sliced, not large chunks) and cooked perfectly, covered in a creamy, rich tomato-based sauce full of spicesThe balance of flavors was spot on - level 3 was spicy but with just enough kick to keep it interesting. The basmati rice was fluffy with buttery garlic nan on the side that was perfect for scooping up the sauce. If you're ever on UC's campus you must stop in and try!“

“My husband took me to Aap for what I'm pretty sure was my first time & I wish he had taken me sooner. The exterior is very unassuming - a good example of don't judge a book by its cover - with convenient parking available. We were greeted by a pleasant host who sat us promptly & took our order. A server quickly filled our glasses with water & brought us a couple Cokes. We both ordered the chicken tikka masala ($16.99) & shared an order of the paneer naan ($4.99). I chose a spice level 4 out of 6, while my husband sprung for the 5. Both of us were very happy with our choices, as we were provided just enough heat to get our noses running, but not an overwhelming heat that took over the flavors. The sauce was so smooth & rich & seasoned with the perfect amount of cilantro. The rice looked deceptively plain, but was prepared & seasoned well & was the perfect accompaniment to the velvety sauce & chicken. The naan was stuffed with a house-made cheese & plenty of fragrant herbs, making this delicious bread a welcome side to this decadent meal. This has easily become a top favorite for both of us as far as Indian restaurants in Cincy. Go check it out - you'll be glad you did.“

“Very enjoyable food, and very polite service. Danewad, Mr Kamal. The vegetable mango is good but be warned that it is fermented, so this curry is a bit sour and doesn't taste like fresh, sweet mango or even under-ripe mango. The basmati rice was cooked to perfection. The Lentil (dal) soup was delicate and enjoyable.I also had aloo (potato) paratha (baked wheat flatbread). The crushed potatoes were very mildly flavored with spices that I could smell but not taste because it was served late and the vegetable mango was, sadly, strong enough to completely block the flavor of the spices in the aloo. If you order this, aloo samosa or another with mildly spiced potatoes, make sure to eat this first or dip it in sauce.Public, 2-hr parking is to the side, and their parking is in the rear, adequate for the small size of this restaurant.Vegetarian options: Some items can have coconut milk substituted for milk.Dietary restrictions: LactoseParking: Public, 2-hr parking is to the side, and their parking is in the rear, adequate for the small size of this restaurant.“

“I've been dining at Ambar India since freshman year of college. That is admittedly over a decade ago ?.In all that time, the food has been top notch and the service excellent. I have never had a complaint.I really enjoy bringing a date here in the evenings, but it is more of a third date kind of place. This is definitely the more classy Indian restaurant in the area.Vegetarian options: This establish serves meals friendly to those with a variety of palettes.Parking: Parking is favorable to those familiar with the area. Bring a friend!Kid-friendliness: This is not the best place to bring young children. This is out of respect for the other patrons and is in no way a negative.“

“This was the best Indian food I've ever had!! And it's because they're unique. Their food won't taste like the usual Indian place. Some folk give 1 star cuz it's not what they like, but I'll be coming back again and again!! Definitely recommend chicken Korma and chicken 65.Their chicken is so tender! Idk how they do it.Warning: Their food is always a least a bit spicy. Lowest they go seems to be like a spicy level 2 or 3 at other places.Atmosphere and service makes it feel like you're there to relax. The slower pacing (but not slow!) makes me feel like I'm eating at somebody's home, not a restaurant. Some folk give 1 star cuz they want the hyper-speed of US culture. This place is an oasis of a slower, more humble culture.I'm so glad Ravi's took the risk and did something unique, rather than pandering to the masses!! Perhaps I'll start looking at other 3~4 star rated places to find the best food.PS - Haywards 5000 is one of the best beers I've ever had too. And I've had a lot.“

The food is delicious and if you like it spicy they got you, if you don't they got you. The service is great, the workers are welcoming and friendly. Also, the ambiance is warm and inviting. “We went on a weekday afternoon because they still have a buffet while our preferred venue, Tandoor in Montgomery marketplace does not. Good selection of dishes including chicken, breads, veggies, potatoes. Pretty much all you can eat. Some spicey, some not. All hot and tasty. Quiet comfortable dining room. Attentive service. Free parking. The carpet could use a good cleaning or replacement but otherwise the sanitation as fine.“

The momos, veggie platter and chow mein were delicious and perfect for this chilly weather. This place is highly recommended and deserves more love. Couldn’t take pics as we were quite occupied savoring the food.P.S. Will update with pics the next time we visit“

“This is an Indian restaurant in downtown Cincinnati near UC. It kind of focuses on like Indian street food as opposed to some of the fancier ones with the big menus and fancier dishes. There was a lot of good here as the restaurant looked very nice and the staff did a mostly good job (it took a while for them to cook the food but unless it's ridiculously long I don't complain about that and won't here either.) I went with my favourite Indian which is Lamb Vindaloo which is chunks of lamb (or whatever other meat you prefer) with a tomato based sauce with lot's of spices. I got mine a 4 out of spicy instead of my normal 5 because I had never been to this restaurant and didn't know how much they would spice it. I could have definitely gotten the 5 as the 4 wasn't all that spicy. It had some pretty good flavour and the lamb was cooked perfectly and was in pretty good sized pieces. Their naan was quite good as well which is vitally important at an Indian restaurant to soak up all of those sauces. I probably should have tried their street food which is their specialty but there will be a day for that. What I had was good but not great Indian food. When I come back and try the street food dishes I will reevaluate. I'd rate this about 6.5 out of 10.“

“Delicious food and great service. Great for quick lunch and the garlic naan is wonderfully crispy and chewy.“
