“Lane is the best server I've ever had. Everyone else there is awesome, too, but her hospitality comes with its own unique charm. She could upsell anything, and doesn't let people push her around. Always friendly and never afraid to tell you what she wants you to hear. Come in and give her your money and compliments.“

Toxic Brew Company Brewery • $
431 E 5th St, Dayton

“What a spot. Came here after dinner for a beer with co-workers and had a hard time choosing due to the wide selection (this is a good problem to have!). Ended up going with an IPA and was not disappointed. Staff was friendly, prices were reasonable and oh gosh the artwork!! Phenomenal! So many beautiful pieces, both for sale by local artists and just embedded into the decor (such as the seats on the stools outside). It's evident that these people love their spot. Would absolutely come back.“

The Shroyer Inn Bar • $

“Cozy little spot with a generous beverage selection at a great price. Staff are always friendly. Darts, pool, the works. Probably not your local "hangout" if you're afraid of COVID so proceed with caution. Also, while the "ribs" sandwich is a great value....I'd skip it. Would recommend for a brew with friends.“

“Exactly the kind of place you want to go. This is a fine, colorful, family oriented local establishment that survived covid and continues to stack up victories when it comes to food. It's the food that matters. This place isn't going to win any Architectural Digest Awards, but I bet if they spent a bunch of money on the building everything would cost a hell of a lot more. Baked Italian is 100%, Smashburger is 100%, I keep hitting those over and over because they're just that good. That stated, you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Go to Hank's Local. Just go. Now.“

“I came in for dinner tonight and it did not disappoint. The building, both inside and outside, is very pretty. I never got the chance to try the building's former Mexican Restaurant occupant but the warm colors and wood accents in the redone space are fabulous. Our waitress, Destini, was amazing all night. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive all evening. We tried the French baguette with house made butters and the Julius Caesar salad for our starter. The salad (with house made dressing) was delicious and huge, we were able to split one. The bread was warm and crusty and so good with the different butters. The garlic and strawberry & cream butters were yummy but I especially liked the cinnamon. The main courses we ordered came out next and were huge. My dinner date had the shrimp scampi. It had so many huge shrimp as well as yummy, sweet chunks of garlic in the white wine sauce. So good! I got the chicken and waffles and it was amazing. The hot honey was a little too much for me so I'm glad I got it on the side. The waffle was light and fluffy and paired so well with the huge piece of golden fried chicken breast on top. It was yummy! We topped our meal off with some house made baklava for desert. Yum! The dinner was fabulous and we had a great night. I can't wait to go back and try their brunch.“
