“I had the most unusual experience. I've never actually had a situation like this before. It was something almost out of a movie, a romcom I'd imagine. I guess that made me John Cusack or Jack Black? My friends made a reservation and had the screen shot of it as proof even, but when we got there they didn't have our reservation or even know about it. They made it right by seating the four of us promptly at the MAIN table, a table for 8-10 people. It was very nice to have the extra space and a bit more light. The atmosphere is very quaint, almost like a speak easy. Lots of wood, a large bar for a small area, and very simply decorated. It can get a little loud in there, but that might just have been the table of ladies in the corner that wanted to be heard by the politician sitting with his wife across the room.We ordered appetizers, stuffed mushrooms and the beef tips. Both came out in a reasonable amount of time. The beef tips were amazing, tender and the "gravey" was thin and almost felt healthy. The mushrooms were ok. The stuffing in them had an obvious vegetable presence, corn and something else, something leafy. Not too much flavor maybe, very light as well. The issue was, on maybe my third or fourth mushroom, all of which I cut in half, I had what I thought was an under-cooked leafy vegetable. I couldn't rip it apart in my mouth, but I started to flatten it out, unroll it on my tongue. Growing as I unraveled it, I had to pull it out of my mouth, because part of it started to go down my throat. To my party's shock, as I pulled it out, I probably looked like I was a bad clown entertainer. It seemed bigger in my mouth, no jokes please, but it turned out to be a sheet of plastic! Balled up, clear plastic, like you would find shrink wrapped around a quart of mushrooms at the store. I don't think I swallowed any, at least not in that mushroom. I'd eaten enough, and they were good, so I ate the last one, very cautiously, probing like, and cut up, even after my discovery. Clean plate club I admit. We told the waitress, so that they could troubleshoot to make sure no other customers would have the same issue. We proceeded with dinner. My apple salad was good, different then what I have had elsewhere, not better, not worse, unique. I liked it. My salmon was great! Just not enough. The best part was the vegetables that came with it. Brussel sprouts and a mixture of a couple additional vegetables. If there was any problem with my main course, it would have just been the, maybe 3 oz piece of salmon. Everything tasted great. I had a local micro brew beer, and my friend had a couple over priced cocktails, our wives had wine. The chef/owner? Is a very nice and polite man. He came out and apologized in person for the plastic wrap. He also said that he comped our appetizers and my drinks. Everyone was so nice about the situation I felt bad when I actually had brought a Foody Card for a bit off my bill. I didn't feel bad when I saw that my wife and I still had a large bill though. I didn't know the price and portions going into the restaurant, that was my bad. I definitely didn't expect to find a surprise in my appetizer, that was their bad. The place is nice and we had great food, sans my surprise ingredient. It just seemed not right, spending that much after getting so much discounted and then having to go home and eat some frozen pizza slices because I was still hungry. I'd suggest more salmon on the PL8, or at least a lot more of those tasty vegetables.I'll probably go again, because the food WAS great. I just hope this was an odd, one-off occurrence, and that there is no sequel to my romcom movie.“

“Absolutely confused why they closed the location on Reynolds Road near Maumee a few years ago. Loved that one and missed it dearly. Visited this location hoping it was still a home run and my goodness it’s even better!! The Memphis Mac is a 10/10 must have and they have bottomless fries!! $13.99 for a huge delicious packed grilled cheese and bottomless fries is incredible!! Only suggestion I would make is please open more locations because this place is too good!! The service was fast and friendly!!“

“This place fired in all cylinders and and all the food was super fresh the cooks and servers were all on the same page and definitely delivered exceptionally. Drove about 50 minutes for this and it was worth every second especially since the pricing was amazing although high prices are hitting in all walks of life today, this is still the best option in receiving great customer service, awesome food Quality, and a cool and collected environment to enjoy a late night or an early bird special.“

“I had the pleasure of dining at The Brim House in downtown Toledo at the Renaissance restaurant, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. From the moment we walked up to the restaurant, we were greeted by a very friendly face, despite arriving late and potentially going over their closing time. Paul, our host, warmly welcomed us and escorted us to our table, offering us drinks along the way. While it was dark when we arrived, we truly appreciated the ambience the following morning during breakfast. The restaurant boasts a stunning view of the river and the bridge, creating a picturesque setting. The overall atmosphere of The Brim House is warm, inviting, and exudes a sense of hospitality. Friendly faces were everywhere, making us feel immediately comfortable. Our waiter, Connor, greeted us with a genuine smile and proceeded to guide us through the specials of the day. He took the time to explain the origin of the wine we ordered, as it was from France. It was refreshing to have a server who went beyond the basics and provided us with interesting details. Connor's recommendations for our meal were spot-on, and we decided to order everything he suggested. It was clear that he had a deep knowledge and passion for the food. The quality of the food at The Brim House exceeded our expectations. We didn't anticipate such remarkable flavors and attention to detail in a restaurant located inside a hotel. Each dish was cooked to perfection, with the right temperature and an exquisite blend of flavors. The price we paid for such outstanding quality was truly a bargain. In fact, I would have gladly paid a higher price for the level of taste and presentation we experienced. The customer service at The Brim House was second to none. This dining experience ranks among the best we have had in Toledo and many other places we have visited. The staff treated us with the utmost respect and made us feel welcomed and valued throughout our entire meal. Their friendly and welcoming demeanor added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience. In conclusion, I highly recommend The Brim House at the Renaissance restaurant in downtown Toledo. The food quality, the reasonable prices, and the exceptional customer service make it a standout choice. Whether you're a local or a visitor, The Brim House is a must-visit destination for a memorable dining experience in Toledo.“

“We came here for dinner and sat in the bar. The server we had was excellent and the burgers were perfectly cooked. Love the cold slaw too. However there was a shrieking kid behind us and I wasn't aware that children were allowed in the bar. The evening would have been more pleasant without him. We are here for a long weekend and the hotel recommended that we come here.“

“Went with a few people on a Saturday evening for dinner. The food was awesome. Tried the bruschetta, Pierogies for appetizers. Was really good. I had the fried chicken sandwich. I have to say it was probably one of the best chicken sandwiches I’ve ever eaten. I had a Manhattan and it was on point. Very good. It was really crowded. I guess that’s a testament to how good it is. The service was good considering how busy it was. I would recommend to try this place out.Parking: There’s a parking lot on the premises. Seems to be plenty of parking. And seems secure.“

“Very crowded on a Friday evening, still found a table without having to wait. A nice people watching spot along a sidewall. A lively somewhat older crown. Did not wait long for someone to take our orders. My drinks were generously strong .The appetizer pretzels were soft, and the beer cheese tasty. My Jack Daniel's burger was perfectly done and very juicy the fries crunchy and salty. My daughters BLT was enormous and she said was very good. Great experience. Looking forward to coming back during the week and trying thier prime rib special.“
“Reservation was a breeze on a Saturday night, though they were packed. Promptly seated, server was very attentive and knowledgeable. We had bread for starters, lobster bisque and french onion soup. Of course we gotta try the steaks.. we ordered three 16 oz ribeye steaks cooked to medium rare perfection, well seasoned with onions and mushrooms on the side. NY strip steak was tender as well.. The Chilean Sea Bass was delish! The meals were satisfying and filling we didn't have room for crème brûlée.. perhaps next time. Happy tummy once again!“

“I LOVE diners. And this one ticks all the right boxes for me: clean, inexpensive, tasty, and friendly. The owner is the chef and one gets to watch him create magic in a well-choreographed routine at the grill. There's limited seating (about 6 stools and 3 two-top tables) and a relaxed atmosphere, so don't think you'll get seated fast or served quickly. There are phone orders galore. They take only cash. The staff are as busy as the chef, but during the whole time we were there (about 1½ hours) the atmosphere was relaxed and everyone was cheerful and interactive. Lots of laughter. So different from places where everyone is on screen, and no eye contact.Kid-friendliness: Don't“

“First let me say that I was skeptical about this place. I've driven by it many times and never thought to go inside then one day I decided and I was impressed, by the food not the actual inside of the place. The sandwiches are huge and each of them comes with fries. The chili sauce is meh but I'm from Detroit so I could definitely be bias. They never answer the phone but the service is quick even if you want in and place your order.“

“In honor of Pi Day, I figured I should check out why other Yelpers have been raving about Jo Jo's... They're something to rave about or at least their small meats pizza is rave worthy. The serve was quick and the ambience gave me a oldies "OG." I would totally return for another pizza Pi.“
“Brie has done a fantastic job turning the place around, and making the necessary changes needed for success! The products they serve are delicious, and the property/building are evolving as well! This family knows how to feed you delicious food. And it looks like it’s Bries turn to add frozen desserts to that bill. Congratulations Briean!“

“Lovely restaurant! We went on a Saturday and had to go on a waitlist. Wait was about an hour, went to another bar then came back. The food was good! But it wasn't the best steak I've ever had. I really enjoyed the spinach dip and they brought some more chips for us to be able to finish it up.“
