“We went to our granddaughter's dance competition in April 2024 at the DeYor Performing Arts Center and had dinner at Avalon afterward. There was a line out the door to be seated on a Saturday night, but the customers waiting in line were friendly and assured us that the line moves fast - this restaurant obviously has a regular following. We sat at the bar and again sat among regulars. I had a Cabernet, and Ray had a beer. Heaven! I can't believe the menu here!!! It reminded me of my ex's Italian family recipes. I had the fried smelts and Brier Hill Pizza (just like my ex-grandmother in-law's homemade)! My husband had wedding soup - with homemade soup breads - another Youngstown staple! I make soup breads at home, but I have never had them at a restaurant. Impressive and delicious! My husband had a meat pizza and loved it. We ordered a potato pizza and cannoli to go. I didn't realize a restaurant still existed that served authentic Italian food. By the end of the evening, my cheeks were sore from smiling! What an experience!“

“AMAZING PIZZA! Called for reservations before the PBR event at the Covelli Center this past weekend and was greeted promptly and taken right to our table. I wish I would have gotten our servers name, she was tremendous! Very attentive and getting our refills quickly! The Moscow mules-DELICIOUS!“

Being in business for 15 years, still knowing the importance of customer service starting with the companys leader was unexpected. The inside of the building is amazing and it makes me feel like I'm in a sculpture I hope to be back asap!! let's not forget how good the food was! I ordered garlic Parmesan with Mac n cheese, very delicious. will definitely be back!“

“Never went somewhere where I enjoyed everything I ate. Absolutely amazing food! Got the rice balls for an appetizer which was so good! Spaghetti and meatballs with a breadstick 10/10 and then the chocolate cake was just omg, not to mention our service was amazing! Will be back !!!“

“Firebirds is one of our favorite restaurants and we’ve always had great service and great food. So, we were very surprised last Saturday when the food was not good. Three of us ordered medium rare steaks and they all came out dry and not even pink. The burger was way over cooked. One plate had 4 sprigs of asparagus that were not even the width of a blade of grass. That should never have been plated.Our server was fantastic and highly embarrassed. She also indicated that people had been unhappy with the food all night. Somehow the kitchen just fell apart that night.The manager was on top of the issues and took care of us, which we really appreciated.We will definitely be back as one bad night doesn’t overshadow all the great meals we’ve had.One additional comment, there were no choices for the vegetarian in our party. She ended up with 2 sides due to no dinners available for her.“
