“I stopped in the market this past Sunday and I came across this bakery by chance. The display caught my eye and I decided take a look and ended up ordering whoopie pies, lemon bars and butter cake. All three were AMAZING! I will definitely be making this a new stop when I am in the city!!“

This opening makes me grizzly excited!I didn’t look at the details carefully, but buying two scones, two muffins, a biscuit sandwich and two bagels totaled $23, which I thought was a good deal! There are also many types of pastries and bagels. Many of the items are vegan. I really like them. The pastries are delicious. Everything and the salt+rosemary bagels taste a little salty to me.“

“I’ve only ever had the best experience at crust!I have both ordered custom cakes as well as gotten some individual sweet treats here and there and I’ve always been met with kindness and the best quality vegan treats :) I took a picture of my most recent custom cake I ordered from them, which was beautifully made and delicious. Ordering a cake was easy and they were very communicative when I had any questions or wanted to express my ideas on the design.I will definitely be ordering again for my next special event and/or popping in for some sweet treats :’)“

“I lived in Seattle for almost two decades and will admit to being a bit of a coffee shop snob. The Nook hits so many of my high points. Extremely good locally roasted coffee (in-house!). Amazing baked goods. The cocoa coffee bread must be tried, but leave me a slice! Great staff. If I ever move out of the neighborhood, I'll journey to the Nook for a great cup and bite.“

“I’m obsessed! Found this bakery on too good to go & took a ride over (from jersey) I came home with 4 different flavors of the banana pudding & my 16 year old and I tried each one. I can’t even pick a favorite because they are all so good. The Magic flavor name makes complete sense when you take a bite because different flavors seem to magically appear in your mouth (peanut butter being the last to hit…) hard to explain but if you taste it, it will make sense! I got 2 large puddings in my order than bought 2 different small ones in different flavors & i regret not getting the 2 extra cups in large! Driving in Philly stresses me out but I’ve never wanted to drive back over there so bad! For more pudding! I will be recommending this bake shop to everyone! The guy behind the counter was super nice & welcoming and helped me pick out some favorites. It’s a nice Friendly shop with amazing puddings & I will definitely be back!“

“The desserts here are excellent. I think the pricing is a bit iffy, though. I think the loaf cakes give you a great value, but then other desserts which are much smaller are priced similarly ($7). Would love to see some more options in the $3-5 range. Better flavor than downtown, and the coffee is solid here as well, at a fair price.I think they need to be a bit more visual with their display, and have a board/menu inside. I actually didn't even know they had coffee until I saw their coffee machine and went over to their digital ordering system. I think it's weird that there's a digital ordering system setup but no menu yet. I get that prices and inventory can change and that the place is new, but I always feel kind of bad asking for the price of every single item in a bakery.Much much better than a certain other Brazilian bakery in the northeast. I wish these guys the best, and I just want to see the promotion be a bit more visual with a few more affordable options. I don't mind spending $20 at a bakery but I felt like some combinations of items would run up that cost and not be enough snacks for more than 2 people. I kind of hate being that person who only goes and gets the most cost effective thing at a store because everything else is priced steeply, but that's life in America I guess.“

“whenever I am in Chestnut Hill I always say that I am going to try this restaurant. Well today I did and It did not disappoint OMG…. The restaurant is quaint and cute. The service was excellent and the food was very good. I ordered the broccoli quiche with turkey bacon on the side. That quiche is like none I have ever tasted, flaky crust and the filling reminded me of soufflé but much taster. I also brought 2 cups cakes carrot and coconut to go. I’m sure they are just as good. I can’t wait to go back because I hear there is a different quiche each week. This is my new breakfast place for sure.“

“I was a bit skeptical because we wanted a vegan gender reveal cake. So there was a lot on the line to put our trust in. But everything was perfect! The service and the cake. It was delicious and beautifully made! No regrets! Will def be getting more vegan goodies in the future.“

Not to mention the moisture and flavor of the cake and fondant was superb. I will order her cakes for any occasion. “I'm very picky with desserts. I bake my own goodies at home because store bought never meets my expectations. I tried the lemon meringue cupcake. It was a perfect combination of flavors. The lemon curd was tart and sweet. The buttercream was smooth and delicate. I got the pecan cheese cake for my husband and he said it was the best cheese cake he's ever had.. which made me a little jealous because I have made him cheesecake for years lol. I will be coming back again soon!“

I order a cake for every celebration. I also love the slices. The Strawberry crunch and Chocolate Cake are my absolute favorites.“

“We ordered custom cookies in the likeness of our daughter’s dogs for a party. These doggie cookies were the hit of the party! Not only did the coolies look exactly like the dogs, somehow their personally was also captured! The cookies tasted delicious as well as looking great! I Would highly recommend this bakery! “There are not enough good things to say about Cathryn’s. My twin sister told me about the bakery. It truly feels like family every time I visit. They know which twin is which by now (LOL). I have referred family and friends to Cathryn’s. In fact, the last time I visited, I went to an event later that evening saw one of their cakes at my friend’s event. Professional representation always and wonderful aesthetic. And I agree with the comment regarding the packaging: very polished down to the details. They make Philadelphia proud!“
