“My biggest complaint with this place is they don't have any real dishes and they don't have any real silverware. I just do not like to eat with a plastic fork on pieces of paper. So I probably will only go rarely. I think if I gotta take out it would be cold and unpleasant when I got to my destination. The menu has attractive options and they have first class employees perhaps the best I've seen in Lexington at similar restaurants.“

“The lady you have working the drive thru window 4/21 around 10 am is always SO PLEASANT everytime I come. It’s hard to not smile when she talks to you even just to ask your order. “While we visited South Carolina, we dined at the Lizard's Thicket. This restaurant has so much to offer: cleanliness, an inviting atmosphere, hospitality, and delicious food. We purchased two four-veggie plates, one meat and three plate, and a fried chicken sandwich. Everything was hot, fresh, plenty, and delicious. In fact, it was so delicious that I requested to compliment the cook, Jermaine, before we left the restaurant. Jermaine is not only a talented cook, but he is also incredibly hospitable to the customers. Also, we appreciated our particularly attentive young waiter, and the friendliness of the employees who work together at this restaurant. (They were especially grateful that we paid in cash!) Columbia is blessed to have such a fine restaurant in their city, and Lizard's Thicket is incredibly blessed to have Jermaine bringing the customers back for more satisfying dishes!“

“Gorgeous hotel restaurant in the heart of Downtown Columbia features all you would expect from the Marriott brand. The food was perfectly prepared, and my cocktail was one of the best Old Fashions I’ve ever had. Waitress / bargirl was very attentive and friendly, atmosphere was low lit upscale classy. “I worked here for many years and although I am not a fan of Mr. Robert Williams as he is mean to most of the staff, I am a fan of all the other Williams!! I do like the customers and I very much like the food! I must still give credit to the cleanliness of the restaurants and the quality of the food. The food is absolutely delicious! So I will not take away from that. My favorites are Flounder, macaroni and cheese, cabbage, collards, beef stew…. Oh! The salads are amazing with the fried chicken and egg! Omlets are good, don’t really like the bread anymore, that is probably because I ate it from the age of 16-30 haha. Nice friendly atmosphere from the customer perspective and good service! If you ever run into Mr. Matt Williams; He is one of the kindest people I ever met! John Williams too! They are wonderful people.I would suggest if you are looking for great service and food do go here… if you have the pleasure of being waited on by Gloria, Marilyn, April, or Genie…. “5 stars, because the food is *chefs kiss” I picked up my to-go order during a lunch rush and when I got home I realized it was not what I had ordered. I called once I realized the mistake and Crystal (manager) was so polite and even asked ME how I wanted it to be handled. I completely understand how hectic it gets and sometimes things get mixed up. No biggie, I was able to go back and get my correct order with Crystals help. She even gave me a cookie. So with that being said…. 5 STARS.“

“I had an amazing experience with the crab legs – it felt like heaven! The Jamaican jerk butter was absolutely amazing – you have to try it! My daughter enjoyed the chicken tenders and fries, which were so delicious. Everything was seasoned to perfection! The service was fantastic, and everyone was super friendly and helpful. “Ribs had a nice, mildly sweet, smokey flavor . The ribs are not the most tender, they aren't smoked for long. Mash potatoes and gravy was tasty. Broccoli casserole is ok. They try way harder than most restaurants with the Mac and cheese. 3 sides, 4 bones of ribs, $15. And the plate is heavy! They're not stingy with portions. I will try their very affordable chicken baskets next time. Customer Service was good.“
