Two day unplanned layover, my first time in beautiful Charleston.Thankfully, California Dreaming was within walking distance of my hotel, and recommended by the front desk.I'll get right to it: last night I had the roasted salmon. Wonderfully seasoned, perfectly cooked, thick fillet; the side of roasted Brussels sprouts with bacon was just superb. The food overall was just ok, we ordered the calamari as an appetizer and it was a little over cooked. I got a salad with my entree and the lettuce looked like it sat out for a day as it was pretty wilted. I only took a few bites, the croutons also tasted old. My entree was the pork chop, which was not to bad, a little salty. But the peach jalapeño jam kind of balanced it out with the sweetness. Overall, not somewhere we would be going back to.

I used to love California Dreaming. Tonight, I was barely spoken too, food took forever, and the food tonight was mediocre at best. In fact, the last time I had food at Applebee's, it was better than CD for half the price. Not sure what has happened, but it seems management has "checked out." I'll just get fast food next time...same difference quality wise and a little less money.
