We were all dressed up for Thanksgiving dinner. It’s like an IHOP inside which is weird and we didn’t know it previously because the hotel is nice. When we got our plate of food, it was cold. Then I got a bite of my collard greens- (we didn’t want to send it back cause the service was lacking and figured they would do something to it)- I got a huge piece of black resin, plastic, kitchen mat- something in my mouth. It was bigger and thicker than a quarter size. We both lost our appetite after that. Being that it was only 630 ish and we had only taken a few bites of food- we asked if we could order a burger or something with room service later. They said nope we are only doing this dinner. We obviously didn’t want to eat that so we went back to our rooms, all dressed up for a dinner that should have been thrown in the trash. They did comp the whole meal and packed desserts to go from somewhere else but we had no Thanksgiving dinner, no way to get food in the hotel, and other places were booked up.

We are staying in the historic Francis Marion Hotel, looked at the menu and knew we wanted to eat there. Our daughter lives in Goose Creek and she made the long drive to join us, we told her the menu looked wonderful and to expect live jazz. We arrived at 730pm and were greeted by the hostess, this hostess was insistent we “needed” a reservation because they had 5 tables arriving in a few minutes but she could seat us at 8pm. Okay I understand if is needed a reservation so we went to the bar. The hostess with blonde hair (she never introduced herself) told us our table was ready at around 1940, we went to our table. My daughter and I ordered the She Crab soup and we all ordered our entrees, the she crab soup was ice cold so we returned it. The No name server (another worker that couldn’t be bothered introducing herself) brought us the soup again, again it was ice cold but this time was over loaded with Sherry and ice cold, completely inedible. The No name server didn’t apologize, instead she blamed us for not knowing how that soup is prepared. It is now 2025 and all we have eaten is a piece of very tasty corn bread. My husband went to find the no name server to find out what happened to our meals, my daughter ordered a Caesar salad with grilled shrimp and we ordered the tenderloin RARE with the scallops. My Husband saw the surly blonde hostess without a name, her response “ your ticket went in at 747 and just came up, now you say you don’t want it”. No apologies, I don’t know anything about the food except for the ice cold she crab soup and the 3 little pieces of corn bread, I do not recommend this place because of the trying to be a snob blonde hostess telling us how lucky we were to get a table in an empty restaurant because it appeared none of the reservations showed up. We had planned on breakfast there but will never go to that restaurant
