“We ate at the Crab Shack twice during our visit to Folly Beach. The first time was when we first arrived and were waiting for our rental to be ready. It is a dog friendly restaurant, but all the dog friendly tables are high tops which I personally do not like. The first visit I had She Crab soup and my wife and I shared a seafood trio. While the soup was good, it was not what I expected since the crab soup i have had in the north is a tomato based cajun style. The trio was very good. The fish were fresh, cooked properly and had good flavor since it was fresh. Our server was great and very helpful. Our second visit was without the dog so we sat at a regular table. My wife and I shared the largest fish boil which had crab clusters, oysters, shrimp, corn and potatoes. Except for the fact there was only a third of a piece of corn, the portion was satisfactory for the two of us to share. The fish was fresh and well prepared. The sauces on the side were good. The service was attentive. The meal can be a bit messy and maybe a bib should have been provided, but, they did give you wipes and had a roll of paper towel on the table. The Crab Shack was one of the better restaurants we ate at while in Folly Beach and highly recommend you try it.“

“I had walked past the night before and the place was packed. We went for lunch the next day. It was quiet and the food was good. I had a hamburger with a nice crisp outside. The fires were cooked just right. My wife had shrimp tacos which she was pleased with. It was one of the better eateries we went to in Folly Beach. It is dog friendly.“

“First things first.. ice water tasted very clean, they bring out waters as soon as you're seated. Lady who waited on us was very nice and helpful. Our food was pretty good. My mom got the veggie burger, she said it was one of the best she had ever had. Everyone else really liked their food too. Sweet tea was super good.“

“So absolutely a great great place. I loved the food the service and drinks. Honestly one of the best spots on the beach in my opinion. Would recommend to anyone Haley and jj are great managers. I had a slight mishap with a chair and the chair won but they made sure my experience was amazing. They comped my food the first day but we came back the next day just because how great this place is. 10/10 will always come again lol.“

“Had lunch today-superb! Had fried avocado-shrimp appetizer and shrimp tacos. Both delicious! And as good as the food was, it was far surpassed by the service and hospitality we received from Elizabeth! She made our time there very special and memorable! I hope the management at the Blu knows and recognizes what a jewel she is!“

“OMG the food is amazing. Simply a cut above. Everything we had on the two nights we went - yes we went twice because the food was so outstanding - was simply wonderful. The fish, seafood and oysters were so fresh and were combined with flavors that just made them sing. The black bass tempura with the soy beurre blanc sauce melts in your mouth. My husband loved the raw oysters. The fried oyster roll with dill tartar sauce and freshly made chips is soooo amazingly good. The chili garlic shrimp was such a fantastic combo of flavors and the shrimp were so fresh. The blue crab tagliatelle was a scrumptious pasta dish with leeks, asparagus and trout roe that had a creamy, lemony flavor that was balanced with the salty roe. I'm not generally a fan of roe but it was just what the dish needed. Staff is so friendly and nice. The recognized us the second night and made us feel so welcome. You have to get in line 30 to 45 minutes before they open at 5pm to get a table and on the second night we were prepared to stand in the rain to get in. We have had some great seafood in Charleston but this is by far and away the top of heap.“

“This is a down home funky southern restaurant serving primarily oysters and fried chicken in a converted garage. So for that reason they get 5 stars. The food was good, the roasted oysters were great, beer was cold, sides were enough to share service was attentive. They don’t take reservations for party less than six so you can expect to wait if you go at prime time. It a pretty popular place.Parking: Primarily a residential neighborhood so parking can be sparse. They do have a free parking lot but it’s small. Neighborhood not the best so be aware walking at night“

“I would have given this restaurant 5 stars for the food except for the preparation of the garlic shrimp…the taste was spot on but the texture was a little mushy because of all the delicious sauce (the bread dipped in the sauce with lots of capers was a revelation). Maybe there is a way to have the majority of the sauce on the side so the shellfish doesn’t suffer. Caesar salad was among the most unique and delicious I’ve ever had. Really solid meal and the service was superb. Prices were reasonable as well.“

“We've been wanting to try Nico's ever since we ate at Laura's in Summerville. Both are excellent! Menu is terrific and varied. From a cheeseburger that our daughter had, to the gnocchi I had, all was great. The waitress was great and helpful with everything we needed. Nice dining area and outside area. Although it was very loud inside which can detract from the great food and service.“

“This was the final restaurant that I ate at with a group of friends while we were on Sullivans Island last week. This very well may have been the best restaurant that we ate at. It’s definitely hard to get a reservation here so act early. For good reason because the food is excellent as is the service. I enjoyed the seafood curry dish. Located right off the main strip. We rode bikes up there and had Aab experience. Overall five star review.!????♂️“

“We were looking for a place for happy hour and oysters and have enjoyed the Bay St location so we thought we would give the West Ashley spot a try and so glad we did. We sat at the bar by the shucking area and learned more about oysters from Doyle than we thought possible. The oysters were all excellent and you must try the char-broiled oysters for an app. They were fantastic. All of the staff were very friendly and attentive and we really liked the home town, neighborhood atmosphere. If you're looking for a great place for oysters away from the tourists this is the place. Sit on the right side of the bar and visit with Doyle. You'll be glad you did.“

“We've been wanting to come here for a few years and we're so glad we did.Not only was this the best brunch I've had in my whole life, but it's just some of the best food in general. The atmosphere is perfect. It's cute, cozy, and accommodating. We ate on the upper outdoor deck and really enjoyed being there. Our server was so friendly and attentive and she made really helpful suggestions as well as made sure we were constantly taken care of and enjoyed ourselves. (I'm awful with remembering names, but the sweet blonde girl with the great lash extensions Sunday, we love you!)The biscuits and coffee alone were heaven and it was in the moment I took my first sip of that amazing ready to drink temp coffee and that first bite of that soft fluffy biscuit with whipped honey butter that I knew how I wanted to die.(It's with that coffee and biscuit.)We got the pimento cheese fritters for a starter and they were market and fried too perfection, but the star of the appetizer was that bacon jam because holy cow! Flavor explosion. The heavy and biscuit was too sour for and the bacon was cooked to perfection. The chicken and waffle was the perfect balance of savory and sweet with perfectly fried chicken and a thick fluffy waffle with amazing packed and just the right amount of syrup.I got the banana pudding pancakes and let me tell you, best in my life ever! At first when I saw this dish was pancakes and not French toast, I had my reservations about it. (How dare they? French toast is superior!)I'm a pancake hater. They usually get soft and mushy and I'm extremely picky about a pancake. This pancake was PERFECT! Slightly crisp edges, but still soft and fluffy. The pressing filling was the perfect sweetness and it had just enough syrup, too. Just wow! I streamed about it last night.Portion sizes were generous enough to fill up s competitive bodybuilder and her very hungry husband to the brim. Our brunch dates mean a lot to us and this experience was incredible. We can't wait to come back.“

“Our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at Red Drum was truly exceptional, and I can't praise it enough. Every aspect of the evening exceeded our expectations. The manager went above and beyond to accommodate our requests, making us feel at ease throughout the entire event. Words can't express how pleased we were with our experience. Red Drum has certainly won us over as lifelong patrons, and I'll confidently recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience.Parking: Not a ton of parking at the restaurant, but plenty of on street parking in the surrounding neighborhood.“
