“I smoke brisket. I know brisket. I have tried brisket in TX, GA, OH, KY, SC up and low country. Chris’s brisket at Roy’s is the ONLY restaurant brisket that I have tried and then went back again later for more. We are all trying to achieve his brisket on our smokers. I don’t write reviews often but his food deserves recognition and you deserve to try it, and then try it again.“

“I had been wanting BBQ and have always enjoyed Maurice's. It was busy but certainly not full. I got a Jr. Pig plate so nothing needed to be freshly prepared. It took over 20 minutes to get the food out. It was warm and a good portion but the rice had a lot of crunches.“

“Their food was catered for a church event. It all tasted very good. Everyone was served a good portion; other catering served small portions, Cox made sure they had enough food to go around. The people were friendly.Kid-friendliness: My small children enjoyed the food and ate everything on their plate.“

“Sunday Sunshine and BBQ today in Cola..I have had City Limits on my list to visit and today we had the pleasure of having an amazing lunch there. Don't let the line discourage you, it's more than worth the wait. Robbie did not disappoint with everything we had. We arrived about 45 minutes after they opened, and unfortunately the large group in front of us cleared out the chopped bbq and spare ribs...but the sweet guys managing the front gave us the last two ribs and a few slices of pork belly to try. We got the brisket dog, made in house of course,Sally's style with jalapeño coleslaw and brisket chili. We also got shells and cheese, Frito Pie, Brunswick stew, and a Pork Belly Banh Mi. I think I will probably dream about that pork belly. It was cooked perfectly and melt in your mouth tender. The honey cornbread literally tasted like dessert. I can't say enough great things about them and we can't wait to come back on Saturday to try all of the different bbq. They are only open Saturday and Sunday so come early before they run out!“

“There's no doubt in my mind that it's some of the best barbecue available in South Carolina. The side dishes are amazing as well usually you don't find sides this good their coleslaw could be some of the best I've ever had. It's basically a takeout. They also do catering I think. I've just never had anything from there that I didn't think was five star.“

“One of the best restaurants in the area. They have helped make Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner a painless process for my family for the past several years. The staff is great and always nice and professional. The food is beyond amazing.“

“First time here and I will definitely be back. All the food I tried on the buffet was delicious. I didn't try the fried chicken because I was too full! Buffet is a little more limited than some other places but it had enough variety to please almost anyone. I loved the hush puppies with a touch of sweetness. I also appreciated they had fried pork skins.“

“Went with the 3-meat plate. The brisket and spare ribs were a premium choice with an additional $2 each, but absolutely worth it! The brisket, specifically, was so tender and smokey. The surprise standout was actually a side, the Sweet Potato Casserole! I didn’t realize sweet potato could be so good. It was topped with a brown sugar crust and pecans and I could have, and should have, eaten 3-4 servings. Would go back just for that.Service was so quick. Make your order at the front, pay, and they brought out the food within minutes. I have come to the South a handful of times and it is not quite known for speedy service, but Maurice’s is an exception to that and I couldn’t be more impressed by how quickly they had the food ready.“

“Maurice's offers pretty good for at really reasonable prices. I had the pulled pork, wife had the wings. We also split a slaw dog. Food was all good. You get what you pay for here. Cheap, decent BBQ! I'll definitely make this spot a regular.“

“Both my wife and I simply loved the flavors. We got brisket, ribs, and smoked sausage. The french fries were out of this world. The baked beans were wonderful. The choice of sauces added to the great tastes. Because the servings were larger than we expected, we took some home and had a great lunch the next day as well.“

“Overall, had a good experience here! We got sat quickly (Sunday night around 7) and the staff was friendly. You could tell our waitress was very busy and stressed but she was still very nice and thanked us for our patience throughout the night. My husband and I both got their bone in wings and they were very good! We really loved the ranch and wing flavors. I got the garlic parm wings. They did have a weird smell but tasted very good! I also really liked that they give you wet wipes to use after your meal. I wish more wing places did this. Good experience and would recommend checking this place out!“

“Updated April 2024.Simply awesome!Picked up some ribs and pulled pork today. So incredibly awesome. Best flavor and no sauce needed! Though the mustard and vinegar sauces are very good.Consistently some of the best barbecue, ribs and hash in the state of South Carolina. Consistency is the key word here, they never have an off day and the food is always terrific.“

“Always a favourite of the wife and myself . The hash in rice by far is the best I ever had . My favourite part of the BBQ is the rib cut . Wow. Dynamite . Nice smoky flavour , chewy shin and thick meat . For me it is the best cut of the pig . The ladies up front are super friendly and helpful . My go to for BBQ occasions . FYI everything is a mustard vinegar base . The fellow reviewer with the plain mustard comment is seriously wrong and must be one of those sweet KC sauce people .“

“I was finally able to catch this place! They were off Bull Street one day for lunch. I went a little bit before lunch was over, so I expected a lot to be out. However, it wasn't bad. Customer service was good, and the gentleman and lady that were working the truck were very nice and straightforward. So their lunch menu is different from their dinner menu. I ordered the pork plate, ribs, baked beans, and fries. That plate also came with my choice of barbecue sauce. I don't know where to start. The beans maybe? They were so delicious! The ribs were on point. The pork was tasty too. It accompanied the barbecue sauce very well. The fries were standard. I can't wait to catch them for dinner, either in Irmo or Blythewood, to try their macaroni and cheese and to reunite with those beans.“
