Your word is your bond......straight forward and simple......just not @ Bowie's. Traveled 613 miles from FL to give my son, who is already a paid professional singer, to perform @ Bowie's. We got there early and he put his name on the list for open mike and secured the second spot. We were then told it was starting an hour later than normal so we agreed to come back, after he sang at a far better small town venue. So we did. The singer/band in first position failed to show so he was first up. Unfortunately, the band did not know many cover songs and so they were going to play two and then he would join the band with Drive by Incubus or Creep by Radiohead. The first band finished and suddenly another band comes on and my son was told he would sing after this band did three songs. I personally watched him shake hands with the manager in charge of open mike. That band finished and he was shoeing the next band on and my Son again asked him why he was not going and received many absurd excuses. My Son had had enough of the abject failure and it was time to leave. We mentioned our sincere displeasure to the waitress and she attempted to engage a male manager, who may have been part owner, and he merely shrugged his shoulders and demonstrated no concern for this outrageous treatment. The waitress was still concerned and grabbed a woman in the back who was likely the wife of the owner and she attempted to bring a resolution. The original buffoon manager suddenly and nervously arrived in the conversation offering excuses, but failing to admit that he had failed to manage the talent appropriately. The woman manager/owner attempted to back her manager saying the band didn't know any of his songs. My Son cut her off and said that's funny because they had two ready to go actually. The management was only interested in having a circular conversation and made no real attempt to address our concerns. The waitress was excellent but David Bowie would not be impressed by the poor services and lack of cleanliness in his dive bar. This management will not survive even if Bowie's does which appears unlikely. If you like thrash metal maybe this is your place. Avoid @ all costs. We had a much better time @ Kid Rock's bar a few blocks over.

Don't go to Open Mic on Wednesday nights, clown who runs it is a total Joker! Doesn't follow the sign up list like professionals at other establishments do. This Clown tells people on the list their next, but then let's his buddies cut the line! Terrible food as well. It will most likely close soon!

Great live music! I ordered a Bowie's burger with fries and these fries were amazing! They were hand cut waffle fries that tasted fresh and so freaking delicious! ?

Visiting Nashville for a week, took time to plan a stop into Bowie's. Must have called ten times, no one ever answered the phone at all. Got there early Wed. for supposed Open Mic, signed up as number two on the chart. Unprofessional long haired 20 yr old guy running this, which was most of the problem. 15 people in the place, which was not a good sign, since it is quite large inside. Did I mention very dirty inside as well. First performer a no-show. Suddenly the guy running its buddy gets to go next (was not signed up on list) I inquire and he says after his buddy goes he can do a song with me. Suddenly a band shows up and his buddy leaves. I inquire, "I gotta let the bands go first" he says. Then another band lines up entering from a back door. I inquire, same line about the bands gotta go, even though none of them bothered to sign up. Needless to say, I never was allowed to sing. Old man and lady are owners, she is also the short order cook and I heard a few folks complaining about the gross food. Owners were unhelpful when approached about young guy not following the sign up list. They questioned him and he made up a slew of lies saying I didn't know any songs, which he previously had stated I could do either of the two songs I mentioned. We left, never to return and found two great Open Mic's not far from Bowie's. This place will close soon and it will be a good thing, because it has nothing to offer anyone. David Bowie must be rolling over in his grave...

Worst place ever, got food poisoning! Wednesday night Open Mic is run by a useless 20 year old who doesn't follow the sign up chart (like normal venues) and let's his friends in bands cut infront of other folks. Management appears useless, I was told the place was failing and this was last ditch effort to keep it open. Stay away, many better venues run by adults not inept child boy at this Joker joint!

I sat at the bar and ordered a beer to watch a band play. I was enjoying the band and my beer. After about 10-15 minutes, I was rudely told by someone who appeared to work there to get off my seat, as someone else was already sitting there, despite no evidence of the latter. This was appalling, and I felt embarrassed. Will not go there again.

Bowie's is AWESOME! Always great live music, fantastic staff, full bar upstairs and down and the food is really good! Even stepping outside for a breather is cool. Loads of people walk by. Music City Stones is a must seek band! Contagan is a great 80s hair metal cover band, catch them on their rare appearances for sure! And Payton is the most fantastic bartender!

Loved this place! Owner is awesome. They have a rockstar bartender who took care of us all night. Servers were great. And by far had the best band. Loose lips. So much fun. Reserve a table ahead of time on their website!

One of many stops in Nashville. Saw some excellent rock bands. Great service - never went long with an empty glass.
