The ribs was falling off the bone and the turkey was not dry. The sides are good, wished they had more options. The sausages were flavorful. The staff were so nice and let us sample some food while ordering because it was our first time. Forgot to order some pies to try but will definitely be back in the future.”

“Terry Black's is a must when visiting Austin! Don't be overwhelmed by the long lines, it moves very quickly and is set up cafeteria style which is brilliant for a restaurant that is in such high demand. The brisket was my favorite part of the meal, it's so juicy and tender. I also tried the ribs and they were great. The red labeled sauce was my favorite as well, I regret not buying a bottle to take home with me. I loved the Mac and cheese as well, but my Austin resident friends agreed the green beans were having an off day. They were a bit crunchy and not very flavorful. I know how good they usually are so I won't hold it against them. Can't wait to go back!”

Well cooked and presented -- the lemon/onion beautified basmati was excellent. The sticky date cake is killer good!”

I’ve been coming here since late 2022 and always try different things (pretty much everything on the menu by now) Great atmosphere and study/work place!It’s rare to see a café place with two-stories! This place used to be the Wells Fargo bank like 20 years ago lol and my dad was one of the managers here when it was a bank back in the 2000's!”
“I travel a lot for work and loved coming here whenever I was in town! The tree inside is beautiful and makes it a really unique atmosphere. Tara makes THE best espresso martinis, she’s so friendly and always made me feel welcomed. Had some less positive experiences with some of the other staff so I pretty much only came here for Tara. Didn’t see her last time I was in town, I really hope they didn’t lose her because she really made this place stand out from all the other options nearby!!!”

“Went to visit my brother first time for myself and my mother the vibe was great. The waitress was nice just didn't like she kept taking things (plates) away without notification or asking if we were done with it I understand the place gets packed and need to move along the parties but my brother wasn't done with his marinara sauce and a few bites of his appetizer, and my son was still playing with the dough ball that was given to him to keep him busy, I still had a few bites of my pizza left when the waitress came by while we were talking and took it. But overall food was good.”

“The BEST coffee in Austin. This is the only coffee I drive across town for, and I think my subconscious literally knows to wake up early on Saturday just to get her when they open. Brown sugar miso latte and choco cloud are out of this world. The team here is so friendly and the line moves quickly so don’t be intimidated.”

A nice high end but low-key spot right near the iconic Austin music spot, Antone’s.The kind crab was perfectly cooked. The braised greens had the subtlest kiss of Serrano pepper. It is seafood with a whisper of the south. The chef is James Beard award winning MASHAMA BAILEY of Savanah, so that makes a lot of sense.The vibe was relaxed but high-end.They bill this as a southern spot. I think it is more a seafood place with a whisper of the South (not to be confused with “Texan cuisine” a cousin but something entirely its own thing.)The restroom is hard to find - it is in the hotel lobby but they do not have good signage. It is buried in the back of a second elevator bank area. They have a neon sign in a different spot announcing that it is NOT the restroom - but nothing of its equal to show you where you should go / where it is.They set up shop diagonally across from Eddie V’s (seafood and chop house) which has been there for decades.Vegetarian options: This was the one area of real opportunity: there were very few options for a vegetarian / vegansDietary restrictions: Greedy for keto and gluten allergy folks!Parking: No garage. “Wow! Another great spot in this part of Austin. Great beer, great food, beautiful art, and fun times ?Our group tried almost every beer and everyone enjoyed what they had. I tried the Hazy IPA and the Rice Lager and enjoyed them both. I did try a Jello Shot with the group but yuck, not for me!! HahaFood-wise, so many options. And they have food inside and some food trucks outside. Hard to go wrong.I also really enjoy that they show local artists paintings that are for sale. Fun to walk around and look at the various artwork. Didn’t buy anything yet but maybe someday!Overall, if you choose to visit, I think you’ll find something you enjoy. Have fun!!”

I normally just come for breakfast and get an almond croissant - mainly because I wake up from having dreams about it lol!! Also, shoutout to Kim and Shae!! “I’ve been sitting on this review for a while. I’m definitely not one to tarnish any 5 star ratings!! My experience was mixed. In part by the fact that I’ve spent countless moments at midnight trying to get reservations with no luck. When I finally snagged my first res, I was shocked to be sitting next to a guy that had been multiple times (even in the past week). Most of the others also had the good fortune to be “frequent patrons”. There was one other person who said she’d been trying to grab a reservation for a while. TBH, really didn’t sit right with me.As we all know, these reviews are opinion based only. I can only give my honest assessment of my experience.The vibe seemed catered to a younger crowd for sure. I definitely felt out of place. The “F” word was used quite liberally by the staff. No big deal, just kind of off pudding when you’re paying so much. Again, I realize this may not be a popular opinion. Unfortunately we also got on the topic of church camp and “those types” which stung quite a bit since I have a strong faith base. Not really the fault of the staff but she was very much in agreement to the conversation. I am not suggesting that the chef participated in any of these convos because he didn’t.Yes, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. I got the extra cocktail menu where we get a fun drink paired with some of the courses and also participated in the extra course which was way too fishy and slimy for me. All in all, my bill was slightly over $400. Since I just didn’t have the best experience, needless to say, it was too expensive for me.My biggest suggestion would be to not go solo.Parking: Very difficult to find.”
“A Tropical Escape in the Heart of the City If you're craving an escape from the ordinary, Tiki Tatsuya is the place to be. From the moment you step through the door and walk down the stairs, you're transported to another world, surrounded by jungle like decor and exotic vibes. Reservations are a must, so heads up here! Also parking is very limited, we had to do street parking and walked 5 min to the place. No big deal. Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show: the drinks. Each one is a masterpiece of creativity, and depending on your choice, you might just get a full-blown performance alongside your cocktail. While these concoctions are on the pricier side, the experience they provide is truly unforgettable. I ordered the Strip 'n go Naked $15 and it came with no performance - just to give you an idea on the pricing! I loved my drink, so delicious - tropical and sweet. Would've probably ordered a second one but glad I didn't because the food wasn't as filling. The food is decent but limited in options. If you're famished, you might find yourself spending more than you anticipated. There were 6 of us and we ordered a "Pu Pu Platter" to share and it felt like an appetizer, when it was advertised as an entree. It's a lot for one person, perfect for two, beyond that I'd consider adding another platter but then again, $$$. So because we were still hungry my husband and I placed an order of a Kalua Pork and Taro Tots and it that was better for just the both of us. We loved the Taro Tots but the portion was very small. The Kalua Pork was decent - you basically made yourself pork shoulder lettuce wraps This place is definitely more about the drinks than the dining experience. With only one cocktail each, splitting up the platter and the extra items we had, plus tip and all, we spent $125..and we weren't full full and we could've eaten and drank more. In summary, Tiki Tatsuya is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and immersive drinking experience. Just don't expect to fill up on the food alone.”

“Our first visit but won’t be our last!After a LOT of research we made our way to Interstellar on Sunday. We had read that queues can be long and that sometimes when you get to the front items have run out, so we decided to do the waiting earlier in the day to ensure we were sorted.We arrived at 9am and were first in the line so were able to have some great chats with the staff (in particular how they had weathered the storm the previous night ensuring all smokers were tended to so that we could eat today!).It did not take long for others to arrive and by 11am the queue was LONG and the anticipation was building! Once the doors were opened (by John Bates, no less!), we ordered Half a pound of Brisket, Peach Tea Glazed Pork Belly, Half a pound of Pulled Lamb Shoulder, Smoked Scalloped Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Jalapeno Slaw, Banana Pudding and Mexican Chocolate Rice Pudding.From the first bite we knew why this restaurant is currently Texas Monthly’s #2 for the state - it truly is next level!The brisket is amazing and the pork belly bites well, let’s just say I will still be talking about those for some time - they were that memorable!! And the sides and deserts were also in a class of their own. In particular, the potatoes are not what you’d expect at a standard barbecue joint, they were creamy and seriously so delicious and the Banana Pudding - I just wished we’d ordered two so I had even more to take home!Whilst we were eating we were visited by the man himself, John Bates, and he genuinely was interested in how we liked our meal and also discussed our travels. I thought it was a nice touch that he said hi to all his customers and took time out of his day to do so.With very full bellies and our leftovers packed up, we left having absolutely no doubt that we will return one day - although I expect the lines will be even longer next time!”

The coffee isn't the best, but it's not terrible in any way at all. More important, the Baristas that give great recommendations and make each beverage with love.-They do require a purchase to access the wifi but I mean it's a business. The cheapest drink is the rainwater I think. Maybe a drip coffee.Also, they're open 24/7 WHICH IS HUGE. The only late night study spot in Austin and this makes them really stand out.Great spot easy 5 stars.”

“Walked in it was a bit messy kinda scary messy. It was only two people working there that day so the one guy he was on the grill he was cooking. He was doing his thing. The music was live. It was nice. I enjoyed all the music. The food was alright, my soda had an oil film so I changed to a TO GO cup, my hashbrowns were over fried a little hard, my waffle wasn’t fried crispy enough for my liking, and toast was not toasting enough. Overall, I will be back due to the music. Give it another chance maybe it was an off day. Also the waiter he was cool. They need a person everyday that enjoys keeping the restaurant clean. I say this at my place of employment all the time you need to have 1 day a month close down have a thorough cleaning and then another day of close down for all your employees to get proper training and in sanitation. Waffle House has been around forever so we need to always keep this historic place running smoothly and professionally, and I believe by changing a few things around will allow this company to stay in the rotation of moving forward into the future future also if you treat your employees correctly and fairly giving them the proper PAY Will always keep employees.Vegetarian options: I say get in touch with the corporate office to see about them changing some things on the menu that will be held friendly as well for those that like waffles so that way you can have the best of both worlds without feeling not includedDietary restrictions: It will be nice if they would incorporate impossible breakfast sausage for those that don’t eat meat. I am a person that is on the journey of no meat eating, but it is what it is. “Experienced the best ever service !! Made my day….arrived 6am and certain circumstances prompted me to hang around to 8:45a. Placed order, ate, and after couple of rounds of coffee had never been so glad to have had breakfast here being served by the most gracious and hospitable Norberto Gonzalez and not just me! I was seated in a booth close to register and witnessed every single/party walking in and being served with such sincere hospitality as Norberto displayed. Lived long enough to still be able to see genuine and excellent customer service- even if it’s something you don’t see in the food industry too often these days - pay Denny’s on Ben White in Austin a visit and see for yourself if you’re lucky to be served by Norberto “G.O.A.T.” !!”

I wanted the lasagna but they didn’t have it so I opted for the bourbon bacon cheeseburger instead and my friend ordered the bacon avocado cheeseburger, and she said it was delicious.We also noticed the cheap plastic partition out and it made the entire dining experience much more pleasant and enjoyable.In terms of the staff, they have always been professional and attentive.”

There are a couple machines in the Austin Airport and usually at least one is working if the other is down.I like this robot machine becuase it doesn't usually have a huge line. The Austin airport used to have local only businesses, and we liked that. 15 years after starting here, they have become money hungry and theres multiple Star*ucks instead. I used to be happy to direct visitors to the Fara Cafe (now a wheelchair seating area. The owner of Fara is a great guy.) or Austin Java instead.Anyways, Costa Coffe is good. It is a novelty, kind of, to see a machine making your drink through a window, and having the robot arm whizz it back and forth, but I like it.I usually get a hot Mocha, but I was happy to find a Milk drink (no caffeine) for when I need a late night treat. The costs is similar to most other coffee shops. It remembers your settings when you swipe your card so you don't have to enter your name and pin that releases the drink from the automated door.I have tried the Caramel Machiatto and a regular coffee as well. The system lets you adjust all the items in the drink (sweetener, flavoring, milk type etc) as long as its stocked.Walking past the 20+ deep line at the other places while already holding my Mocha is just a bonus to me, as the coffee is just as good.”

The jerk chicken, was extremely flavorful and it had the right amount of spices. If you like coconut curry, you must try the tilefish! The coconut curry was amazing and the crispy kale added some texture that made it fun to eat. The wild boar was good and the pieces just melted in my mouth. I would've liked the sauce to be a little thicker so I could dip my roti in it. The ceviche was light and flavorful. I love that they had dragonfruit in it. We had read that queues can be long and that sometimes when you get to the front items have run out, so we decided to do the waiting earlier in the day to ensure we were sorted.We arrived at 9am and were first in the line so were able to have some great chats with the staff (in particular how they had weathered the storm the previous night ensuring all smokers were tended to so that we could eat today!).It did not take long for others to arrive and by 11am the queue was LONG and the anticipation was building! Once the doors were opened (by John Bates, no less!), we ordered Half a pound of Brisket, Peach Tea Glazed Pork Belly, Half a pound of Pulled Lamb Shoulder, Smoked Scalloped Potatoes, Mac & Cheese, Jalapeno Slaw, Banana Pudding and Mexican Chocolate Rice Pudding.From the first bite we knew why this restaurant is currently Texas Monthly’s #2 for the state - it truly is next level!The brisket is amazing and the pork belly bites well, let’s just say I will still be talking about those for some time - they were that memorable!! And the sides and deserts were also in a class of their own. Also parking is very limited, we had to do street parking and walked 5 min to the place. No big deal. Now, let's talk about the real stars of the show: the drinks. Each one is a masterpiece of creativity, and depending on your choice, you might just get a full-blown performance alongside your cocktail. While these concoctions are on the pricier side, the experience they provide is truly unforgettable. I ordered the Strip 'n go Naked $15 and it came with no performance - just to give you an idea on the pricing! I loved my drink, so delicious - tropical and sweet. Would've probably ordered a second one but glad I didn't because the food wasn't as filling. The food is decent but limited in options. If you're famished, you might find yourself spending more than you anticipated. There were 6 of us and we ordered a "Pu Pu Platter" to share and it felt like an appetizer, when it was advertised as an entree. It's a lot for one person, perfect for two, beyond that I'd consider adding another platter but then again, $$$. So because we were still hungry my husband and I placed an order of a Kalua Pork and Taro Tots and it that was better for just the both of us. We loved the Taro Tots but the portion was very small. The Kalua Pork was decent - you basically made yourself pork shoulder lettuce wraps This place is definitely more about the drinks than the dining experience. With only one cocktail each, splitting up the platter and the extra items we had, plus tip and all, we spent $125..and we weren't full full and we could've eaten and drank more. In summary, Tiki Tatsuya is a must-visit for anyone looking for a unique and immersive drinking experience. Just don't expect to fill up on the food alone.”

Money is well worth the night you will have here.Two things to start off with:1) Pay the extra for the add-ons and the booze accompaniments if you can stomach it. I am a tiny woman so I did not add in the alcohol but added a wine for my meal and added one "add-on" to a dish. If you are paying a large amount of money for food - might as well go all the way. It's times like these I curse myself for having a small stomach.2) Book in advance and when you book our chefs said if you book the LAST seating they are sometimes able to give extra bites for an additional cost (again - if you have a big appetite this is a no brainer!)Let's start off with the location. Our Uber dropped us off and the driver along with myself and my husband had no idea where to go LOL. Who would've thought it'd be in a home! Super cute and once inside it is a really cool dining experience. You approach the hostess who asks if you'd like to add-on to your sushi pieces - we added black truffle to one and then presented us with a complimentary cocktail a grapefruit and rosemary spritz which was actually delicious which was surprising to me as I am not a grapefruit girl! She then had us wait in the lounge area for the rest of our dining group!Once inside the room I would compare it to a Michelin dining experience as you are treated with the utmost respect, the restaurant is spotless and these sushi chefs know what they are doing. The care put into their work is mesmerizing. It is actually BETTER than Michelin dining because it's laid back and full of laughs and conversation. It was a two hour meal of fun! We got to know the chefs and the other diners. The time flew by!This meal was 17 courses and we found that there were only 2 we weren't HUGE on. Majority of the bites were a 90% wow and there were I think 5 that were 100% popping eyes out of sockets WOWZA's. The fish are shipped in from parts of Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand to name a few. Everything was so fresh and vivid. I just find omakase to be an out of body experience. The different textures, flavours and the knowledge these chefs have to plate items together to perfect flavour combinations is mind blowing.I won't describe EVERY bite because this review is already quite lengthy - HOWEVER; I would love to write about the showstoppers. The Shima Aji (striped jack), the Chu toro (medium fatty tuna), the Japanese Mackerel, the OTORO (Fatty tuna), the A5 wagyu and the unagi which was the last bite with bone marrow and I am sorry - it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. Our chef said it is kind of a cheat code because it's fat on fat but oh my days was it ever HEAVEN ON EARTH. Not only were these bites OUT OF THIS WORLD but this wasn't the end - there was a green tea with ginger sauce and it was the best tea I had ever had. Even more promising was the fact my husband, who HATES tea (weirdo, I know) said the tea was outstanding. Please tell us how to make this tea or where to buy it! It is life changing! It was a great palate cleanser and great digestive aid after all of those bites. Lastly, we were surprised with a dessert. I have never gotten a dessert in my two other omakase experiences and it was honestly just unlike any dessert I had ever taken. This was a Michelin dessert through and through. It was a black sesame seed ice cream with meringue and a lemon curd and it had some seeds or something. I don't even know. I think I went deaf when they were explaining the items to me because I just was in my own Lala land of mouth pleasure!The only bites we didn't care for were the everything bagel bite - this felt too Americanized for us and totally overtook the fish flavour at the end. We also felt the sea bream was a bit bland. But 2 dishes out of 17 with a dessert and phenomenal tea are not going to stop us from coming back again! Please treat yourself. It is something every sushi fan MUST try.”

“First off, I want to say that Apt 115 is a super interesting concept, the staff is very friendly, and the service is top tier. Easily 10/10 service. It also wasn't incredibly expensive for fine dining ($90 after tax and tip). Apt 115 is hosted within a cozy, 1x1 apartment building, where the apartment kitchen is the kitchen they use. There's no backdoor kitchen or anything. There's one chef and he makes everything using everyday cooking appliances like hotplates and microwaves. The theme that day was grapefruit, and almost everything, including the bathroom soap (which smelled really really good) had a hint of grapefruit. We started off with oysters, which were super creamy and very smooth. No fishy flavor at all. Next, we had fatty yellowfin tuna covered in some homemade sauce that made it explode with flavor. There were some crunchy onion crisps on top that added to the texture. Probably one of the best dishes I've had, period. We then had shrimp and some cocktail sauce, which was okay but not anything crazy. Afterwards, we had a duck leg, which was flavorful but a bit tough--I wonder if it could've been steamed for longer. Once we had finished, our server brought out a basket full of bread and a cutting board with three different cheeses on top. Now, I'm not really a cheese person, but these cheeses were so good. The strawberry jam that came with it was practically heaven in a dish. I would've paid for just the jam. The last dish was a grapefruit brûlée. It had a crispy, thin layer of melted sugar coating the top. Underneath was the sweet and citrusy fruitiness of the grapefruit. Very well done. I should note the flowers and most of the decorations were edible and actually tasted pretty interesting. I wish the shrimp and the duck leg were a bit better, and that there were larger portions (I had to eat another meal afterwards to feel full), but overall I'm satisfied with what Apt 115 had to offer. I would definitely recommend this place to someone else, but would know that you probably won't be full after your meal. A very very high 4 stars from me.”

Someone frequently came down the line with menus, water, and to take drink orders. By 12:30, we had our food and easily snatched a table outside.They only have brisket on Saturdays so we got the sliced beef (+ extra) and beef barbacoa (Sunday special) with the Kale Caesar Slaw and pork hash and rice. The pork was not what I was expecting and not my style, but my husband enjoyed it. The slaw was very good! We loved the sliced beef - it's one cut below brisket so it doesn't fall apart, but is still super tender. The barbacoa was good, but we wouldn't order it again.We also got the L&L burger and it was fabulous with an amazing pepper crust.Probably my favorite part about this place (aside from the wonderful service) is that they source their meats locally ❤️”

I definitely felt out of place. The “F” word was used quite liberally by the staff. No big deal, just kind of off pudding when you’re paying so much. Again, I realize this may not be a popular opinion. Unfortunately we also got on the topic of church camp and “those types” which stung quite a bit since I have a strong faith base. Not really the fault of the staff but she was very much in agreement to the conversation. I am not suggesting that the chef participated in any of these convos because he didn’t.Yes, the food and drinks were absolutely delicious. The other entrees appetizers and sides were equally well prepared. I did have two disappointments. The menu indicates that steaks can be ordered by the ounce. When I tried to do this our served informed me that steaks were only served family style and that the smallest available was 30 ounces. A little hefty for one person. I then asked for coffee with my dessert. Another surprise. Coffee is French pressed and can only be ordered in a four cup pot. Of course one doesn't have to eat New York strip or rib eye, and there is always Starbucks. However the menu should be clearer.”

They seemed particularly taken with the fries which one of them said were like steak frites fries. We had the artichoke appetizer which was delicious. But, food wise the piece de resistance was the lemon meringue dessert which was so light, delicate and tasty I can't even describe it. Two of us had a mocktail made with seedlip (which I had never heard of before) that was quite tasty and interesting. But, the best part to me was that the servers seemed to know how to serve. For instance, the wait person, appropriately cleared our flatware after the appetizer and brought us new. When we go out for full service meals part of the reason is for the luxury of it all. The vibe of the place was "young" and upbeat, the aesthetics and quality of the finish-out very pleasing. We totally enjoyed ourselves. Don't forget that pie!”

It's hot-smoked salmon and it was tasty.The salads were very expensive if you want protein, so I opted for the breakfast plate. That was a big mistake.The HUGE let down was the breakfast plate. The wild boar sausage was very dry. The potatoes were so over-seasoned that they really ruined the palate for the rest of the food. For the cost of the plate, it should come with a biscuit. Super cute and once inside it is a really cool dining experience. You approach the hostess who asks if you'd like to add-on to your sushi pieces - we added black truffle to one and then presented us with a complimentary cocktail a grapefruit and rosemary spritz which was actually delicious which was surprising to me as I am not a grapefruit girl! She then had us wait in the lounge area for the rest of our dining group!Once inside the room I would compare it to a Michelin dining experience as you are treated with the utmost respect, the restaurant is spotless and these sushi chefs know what they are doing. The care put into their work is mesmerizing. It is actually BETTER than Michelin dining because it's laid back and full of laughs and conversation. It was a two hour meal of fun! We got to know the chefs and the other diners. The time flew by!This meal was 17 courses and we found that there were only 2 we weren't HUGE on. Majority of the bites were a 90% wow and there were I think 5 that were 100% popping eyes out of sockets WOWZA's. The fish are shipped in from parts of Japan, Indonesia and New Zealand to name a few. Everything was so fresh and vivid. I just find omakase to be an out of body experience. The different textures, flavours and the knowledge these chefs have to plate items together to perfect flavour combinations is mind blowing.I won't describe EVERY bite because this review is already quite lengthy - HOWEVER; I would love to write about the showstoppers. The Shima Aji (striped jack), the Chu toro (medium fatty tuna), the Japanese Mackerel, the OTORO (Fatty tuna), the A5 wagyu and the unagi which was the last bite with bone marrow and I am sorry - it was one of the best things I had ever tasted. Our chef said it is kind of a cheat code because it's fat on fat but oh my days was it ever HEAVEN ON EARTH. Not only were these bites OUT OF THIS WORLD but this wasn't the end - there was a green tea with ginger sauce and it was the best tea I had ever had. Even more promising was the fact my husband, who HATES tea (weirdo, I know) said the tea was outstanding. Please tell us how to make this tea or where to buy it! It is life changing! It was a great palate cleanser and great digestive aid after all of those bites. Lastly, we were surprised with a dessert. I have never gotten a dessert in my two other omakase experiences and it was honestly just unlike any dessert I had ever taken. This was a Michelin dessert through and through. It was a black sesame seed ice cream with meringue and a lemon curd and it had some seeds or something. I don't even know. I think I went deaf when they were explaining the items to me because I just was in my own Lala land of mouth pleasure!The only bites we didn't care for were the everything bagel bite - this felt too Americanized for us and totally overtook the fish flavour at the end. We also felt the sea bream was a bit bland. But 2 dishes out of 17 with a dessert and phenomenal tea are not going to stop us from coming back again! Please treat yourself. It is something every sushi fan MUST try.”

“I was on my way out of Austin when I had just the right amount of time to indulge on a breakfast. Boy was my belly happy to leave Texas with this as my last meal. I ordered the fried chicken with the biscuit and the biscuit was so perfectly done. The chicken crispy (and felt like more skin than meat but as a whole it was still good) and although it didn't come with it, I dipped mine in the hot sauce that the empeñada came with and it was delicious. The empeñada was yummy and the deep fried hash brown muffin concoction is pretty epic. Our server was 10/10 loved her energy and recommendations. She was all the things we need in the service industry and grateful we had her! All in all, if I'm back in Austin, I'd definitely make a pit stop here again!”
“We came and had brunch here a couple years ago and decided to come for dinner this visit. It did not disappoint! Every single person that worked there were so kind and took time to talk to us, including the sous chef that happened to be at the oyster bar, the host that greeted us, and our wonderful server named Chip. We had the Cadillac oysters from Maine, which were one of the best we've ever tasted. Their drinks are always the best, and everything we ordered was divine. We ordered the Ahi tostadas and they were excellent. We also ordered th the crab wedge salad, which we split because it was huge. The crab is sweet and no fishy taste whatsoever, the dressing is dynamite... Just the best. We ordered the snapper and the potato crusted Seabass - Fresh fresh delicious. Perlas deserve a 5 out of a 5 on all levels. ”

“I'm not a huge BBQ fan, but when in Texas, right? I REALLY liked the crispy boar ribs. I got the short rib for an entree which was WAY too big, I kid you not it was the size of my arm! But it was delicious. Again, not a huge "slab of meat for dinner person". I think I probably could have just ordered the boar ribs app and been just fine! Oooh, the red snapper ceviche was fantastic! I love the atmosphere, classy and a little dark- we came on a weekday so no live music. The only BBQ place I could find that was open late and takes reservations”
“We decided to stop here to do some sort of activity on our vacation and it quickly became the highlight or our trip. We booked ahead of time and got a nice room that we shared with one other group, it was the perfect mix between going out but not being overwhelmed by the crowds. The drinks were amazing, the food was tasty and great for sharing.We were pleasantly surprised by the replays and pictures that we received while we were playing. I also tried a couple of their frozen margaritas: avocado and coconut, but both were liquidy and felt like I was drinking cottage cheese. They need to use more ice or fix their margarita maker.”
“In Austin, was feeling some fancy cocktails and snacks one night. Decided to come to the RR and definitely happy we did. No reservation meant we had to sit in the upstairs bar, where the cocktail list is a bit smaller (though still significant). There was a bachelorette party when we went and it was very Texy, but overall the spot was dark, classy, diverse, with foreign films being silently screened on the wall. I love the bar's aesthetic--hip and classy but casual--and the extensive cocktail list includes a number of historical drinks through the ages as well as house creations. I opted for the Roosevelt Room Old Fashioned, which, with its branded ice cube, was a beautiful presentation. One of my companions opted for a dirty vodka martini; the other for the Cigar Box, which wins pretty much all cocktail presentation forevermore. All drinks were incredibly tasty, and the service was spectacular as well. Because we came for snacks, too, we...well, we went a little crazy. The sumac and pepper popcorn was my favorite. Perfectly popped with enough flavor to keep me coming back for more. I love popcorn. We also ordered the sweet & spicy nuts, which were, unsurprisingly, delicious. The seasonal pickle plate was another winner for me. If you pickle it, I will eat it. More traditional pickled veg (think sweet peppers, beets, etc) plated up next to pickled strawberries and blackberries--genius. Loved this as well. We also ordered the potato pancakes, which were good, but not my favorite dish here. Lastly, we got the salade verte, which I really enjoyed--but a word to the wise: the shallot in this sucker is going to make your breath horrible. All in all, this was a great spot to experience. If I lived in Austin, I don't think I would come by often, but it's definitely a great locale for when you're feeling fancy drinks in a fun, casually classy environment.”

“OMG I am a restaurant Connosseur by hobby and this food is sooo good. The breakfast tacos are fresh made and it doesn't matter which one they are always delicious. I was sick this weekend and I went to try their menudo and it was some of the best I have ever had. It could have used a bit more hominy for my personal taste, but the meat was tender, soup just the right amount of oregano and they put pig feet which is another delight. It will cure a hangover and it's working pretty well for my allergies and cold. I gave the atmosphere a three just because its Rundberg (but don't leave I live in the HOOD, so I am used to the interesting atmosphere, and I appreciate the good food) lol but the little outside seating is quaint during spring or late night. Oh, did I mention the coffee is great I order a bit of cream and sugar and they get it perfect every time., its slightly flavored with cinnamon and piping hot. I love it.”

The Teriyaki Twiist with chicken is my personal favorite. I also like to get their Freshii Green smoothie along with the Energii Bites, which I usually save for a snack later. The wait time has definitely improved since my first visit there and the staff are always friendly. I highly recommend to everyone to go down to Freshii and try it out.”

They brought the fajitas before the ceviche appetizer, which ruined it for me as the fajitas got cold by the time I finished the appetizer. The manager was indifferent. What truly captivates me about Taqueria 10 de 10 is its unapologetic authenticity. Most of the staff's native tongue is Spanish, but that bona fides the experience. Trust the expertise of the staff, hand over your ticket, and revel in the culinary masterpieces they deliver. Following our meal, my friends and I had the pleasure of meeting Raul, the dreamy owner of Taqueria 10 de 10. We learned about his vision of bringing a piece of his Mexican homeland to Austin, a vision unfulfilled by other establishments in the area. That's where Taqueria 10 comes in. Not only does Raul offer delectable tacos around the clock, but also boasts a bar and a club, making it a true destination for those seeking an authentic taste of Mexico and a vibrant nightlife experience.”
“Loud bustling atmosphere that you would expect from a popular restaurant on a Sat night. The staff is super helpful, friendly and knowledgeable about the dishes. Flaky scallion swirls were amazing with the the truffle butter and sweet bean sauce to lather on top. Very flavorful, flaky and super buttery and soft. We also had the Liang Ban BBQ Pig Ear which was spicy and really nice flavor and it numbs your mouth. I could only have a little as I'm not a huge fan of the Mala peppercorns but my husband enjoyed it. Same with the DanDan noodles - strong Mala pepper flavor. The husband said the DanDan Noodles were the best he's ever had so far. For dessert, we had the black sesame soft serve which was delicious. TIP: scoop from the bottom when eating the soft serve or you'll end up with a bunch of tapioca with your last few bites. My favorite was the flaky scallion swirl.”

The service (and other guests) were so nice to and patient with our dog! The food was amazing (we got a Pulled Pork Benny, a Nitro Horchata, and a Chorizo Hash), appropriately priced, and was served very quickly. There were so many interesting choices on the menu that we are planning to go back asap to try other dishes We didn't get to see the inside of the diner due to our dog, but the covered patio had multiple tables for about four to five people each which were very comfortable.”

Chef Lapachi was kind and attentive when I visited, even though he was also quite busy, and able to recommend a dish that met my eating preferences. I had the fries and a vegetable panini. The fries were crisp on the outside with a soft interior. They were seasoned well, complementing the essence of the potato without overpowering it. Although the fries are a side that pair nicely with a sandwich, I did not need to eat them with any sauce. They could easily be a stand alone snack!As for the vegetable panini, I appreciated that it was cut into two manageable halves. The bread came out crunchy but not hard and I could taste notes of feta and perhaps other cheeses under the flavor of the olives and warm tomatoes.All in all, I had a pleasant experience at this new downtown bistro. Chef Lapachi is one of the best chefs around, and I look forward to exploring the menu more in the future!”

“A new 70s themed diner on S Congress! I like how it's not in the heart of SoCo which makes parking so much easier. The space is small but I think they make great use of it, especially with the outdoor seating. We came on a Saturday around noon and got seated right away. I just love the aesthetic of the restaurant, it's very in theme, down to the sever uniforms. They had a special that day where we could get a free pancake and I thought that was a fun surprise. There's something for everyone on the menu and my friend and I shared the French toast and the fried chicken sandwich. Both were incredible! I did not expect to like the sandwich as much as I did and the French toast was huge and definitely enough for 2 people. I also thought the price point was reasonable and this is a good casual spot to grab brunch! I will be back for sure.”

“Yes El Amla's downtown location has a certain charm about it with a roof top eating area and unique indoor vibe but honey parking is a beast and that's why El Alma is the best. I can go here all the time. There's plenty of room to sit, it accommodates even more folks at this location and parking galore. Plus if you wanted to stroll the plaza after dinner there's plenty of shopping. The service was top notch as you'd expect and the food was just as quick and delicious. This is my favorite location because of its accessibility and the food and service is just as great as the original!”
“By happenstance my fiancé and I tried Special Noodle. On first glance, the restaurant was very clean and modern. Ordering was easy and it helped to have photos included in their app. The food and service were top notch. Everything arrived hot and I appreciated the availability of condiments at the table. The only criticism we had was that the honey walnut shrimp didn't look like the picture that was advertised and it was over battered/way too sweet. Everything else that we ordered was delicious. We will definitely be visiting Special Noodle again!”
