“My wife and I had the best experience here for my birthday lunch, I'm so glad we chose this restaurant to eat at while in town for the Austin FC match! I can't say enough about the staff and the owner Joel who went out of his way to be extremely kind to us. Not to mention the food and drinks were so good. We'll definitely be back!“

“Delicious tacos and the best salsa I have had in my life. Make sure to ask for the house made spicy salsa. We tried the bistec, carnitas, pastor, and chicharrones tacos. The fresh tortillas are to die for and the woman holding it all together is the sweetest. No frills, just damn good tacos.“

“Best place to have quesabirrias! The birria is made out of goat and is delicious, it is delicious, well made without any additional fat. We order the quesabirrias and they served us a small size of birria soup. We also order the taco of chicharron which was delicious; crispy and tasty chicharron, o my bad thing is the size of the taco to small for my big belly hehe. Can’t wait to go back and try the variety of dishes. The personnel is friendly, kind, welcoming and makes you feel like you are at your uncle’s or aunt’s house like Family.“

“Everything we ate was delicious. Orissa our server was excellent and a joy to meet. I will definitely ask for her again. The three of us ate family style. We all agreed that every thing was great. The DUCK CARNITAS HUARACHE was a very nice way to start. The duck was tender and the beans had a hint of smokiness. This could have been extremely heavy but was not. We loved the LECHUGA. It had one of the best dressings I've had in a very long time. It was a good light and bright complement to everything we ate. The BONE IN NEW YORK STRIP was cooked a perfect medium rare and the chipotle garlic butter was a nice complement. The WOOD ROASTED HAWAIIAN KAMPACHI was quite good and made a delicious taco with the all the accompanying items. I thought it was a touch over cooked but no one else thought so. I would eat a slice of the chocolate cake we had for desert every day if I could. It was more than enough for the three of us. At the end of the meal we had a bone, some lechuga a bite or two of the kampachi and a quarter of the chocolate cake to take home. It was a great birthday experience. Will definitely go back.“

All were very good, the salsa macha on the squash taco is very spicy so watch out! My only complaint was that the squash in the taco wasn’t very cooked, but that is just personal preference!“

I also tried a couple of their frozen margaritas: avocado and coconut, but both were liquidy and felt like I was drinking cottage cheese. They need to use more ice or fix their margarita maker.“

“New place for me on the southeast side of Austin. It's a taco truck called LA Tunira 512.very limited menu. Basically your choice is birra (taco, burrito, quesadilla, or in grilled cheese which I want to try).I obviously had the tacos and WOW. Really good. Basically the birra is perfect. Tender. Juicy. Ideal.I asked about the orange colored tortillas, which are also sublime. Orange because they are home made and fried in the excess grease from making the birra.I rarely give five stars on a first visit, but this is it.“

We have been coming here for years and the tourists that feel it’s a “tourist trap” need to understand what type of restaurant they are walking into- local, great food, service and family owned. Knockout martini is amazing, Bob Armstrong dip is unbeatable. The burritos and beef fajitas are the best by far. We will continue to support Austin’s favorite Tex mex restaurant and clearly the people that matter will too.“

“Absolutely amazing! I've been wanting to try this place for some time now and it DID NOT disappoint! The food is flavorful, amazing, filling, and does NOT lack Meat like most places. The staff was amazing and made sure our order was right, asked for all extra fixings if we wanted it. We didn't expect the kids meal to come with fruit and a caprisun. Everything was absolutely delicious! Cannot wait to try more from here“

We ordered the cochinita pibil nachos and they made it with gluten free tortillas for me. How great is that! The nachos came with pickled veggies of carrots, onion, cauliflower and jalapeño. For my entree i had Pescado Veracruzano ($22). It was a large piece of snapper covered with tomatoes, onion, capers, olives, etc with veggies and rice as sides (I subbed charros). I cant quit thinking about that meal! It was sooo good! I will be back asap, for sure.“

“Second time going to Conmaye for dinner during the week. The margarita flight was without a doubt the cutest and best flight we’d ever had when it comes to a margarita! The use of flavored agua fresca as a mix in makes them better than most margaritas you’d find at other Mexican places, and their large watermelon margarita was perfect.The beef and chicken fajita for two was perfect for two people (with more to take home) and the meat was well seasoned and tender. The Churro flight was also a great way to cap off the meal (whipped cream and chocolate sauce went really well).If you’re reading this I’d highly recommend the maragarita flight and the fajitas.
