“Meat & Bread is a modern sandwich shop on a quiet downtown cul-de-sac, with seating inside in a light-filled space or else outside on their small patio. Small menu but everything was assembled with care using quality ingredients and packed with flavor. Our porchetta sandwich - juicy roast pork, crispy crackling skin, salsa verde - was really tasty. The asado sandwich - braised beef, arugula, chimichurri sauce - was equally delicious. I do wish they would be a little more generous with their meat fillings. Both sandwiches had ingredients assembled mainly in the middle, leaving front and back ends to be mostly bread.“

“One the best sandwiches I have had in Austin. I had the gourmet Italian one with everything on it except for pickles and onions. I liked the bread, it was fresh and soft. The meats were thinly sliced and the cheese, lovely. The vinegar was a little overpowering. I will definitely take that off next time. All in all, it was very good!“

“I found my South Austin sandwich shop. First off, the people working there are very nice, and seem to enjoy making your sandwiches. Today, two friends joined me and we all had three different sandwiches. They said that what they had was really good. Mine (the #16 Super Italian) was super tasty. I really liked that the tangy dressing was put on the side, because, sadly I couldn't eat the other half. However, it is in the fridge and I will have it shortly. As usual, I have to say it. Don't believe me go get you own.“

“Walked into a very clean JJ with people enjoying their lunches. The guys making a large order stopped everything for a walk-in like me. Asking how I am and addressed me with Miss which made me feel good. All being so kind and sounded like they enjoy each others' company working together. My meals were done in under 5 minutes and then they continued making a large lunch for an order. I loved too how one asked for my bag of chips to slip into the bag so I would t be stuck holding my phone, two drinks and purse. It helped a lot!“

“I love this Thunderclouds! It's located off 290 and 35 so it's super convenient lunch option or quick dinner home. It has this 90's deli shop feel to it with its throwback music and wooden booths (that can occasionally be dirty but eh there's plenty of seating.) Their sandwiches alwaysss hit the spot. I get the California Club and add sprouts (except this time the man making my sandwich forgot the sprouts so I asked at the front counter and he gave me an overflowing cup of them (thanks man!)) The employees here are super chillax and make killer subs.“

“I love steak subs and I love getting them at Jersey Mike's! This location specifically is awesome. First of all, they are always clean and they always have employees cleaning up the premises and leaving the dining area tidy. Second, I have a very specific (weird) way I like to order my steak subs, and not only do they not give me attitude, they always get it right! My steak sub always comes out exactly the way I order it and tasting delicious. This is an awesome location.“

“I live two blocks from the 5401 Burnet location and I'm a regular. The subs are messy (ask for napkins), but so delicious. My current favorite is the Greenbelt, with bacon, avocado, and jalapeños. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Last time I was in the drive-thru, I accidentally dropped the $20 bill I was handing the cashier. He promptly climbed out of the window and retrieved it for me. That's the Thundercloud way!“

“We happened upon here after seeing the eclipse crowds lining up for other restaurants - which appeared to be very daunting. We were very happy to com here instead, they had great outdoor seating but also plenty of space indoords to escape the heat. The casual feel was perfect for a quick lunch. The sandwiches were not particularly inventive but they were quite delicious. I appreciated the addition of jalapenos to my tuna sandwich, gave it just the right amount of bite. Size-wise they were a pretty good size and overall good value. They definitely get my recommendation, especially for the very friendly staff. Worth a visit if you're just not ready to wait in an extended line for lunch!“
