“I want to express my opinion about this place in the best way possible.
Over the course of 9 years in the US, I have had the opportunity to visit different Venezuelan food places, as a certain ritual to enjoy the different flavors in the same dishes that identify us. I have enjoyed many of those places, and others perhaps not so much. However, one day, I happened to be near here and three things about Margarita Bistro caught my attention.
1. The aroma in the place took me to those mornings of errands in Venezuela, where the quintessential breakfast on the streets was delicious empanadas, an incomparable aroma that let you know that nearby there was somewhere to have breakfast very early.
2. The number of people in the place was striking; It was undoubtedly that place I talked about in the first point, but full of people. Here, imagination already had two important factors, because it made me feel a little more like I was on the streets of Venezuela.
3. The name, Margarita Bistro, is definitely a different name. I understand that no place has the same name, but they have left aside common words used in countless places in the US, understanding that, in order to express the name, the words “Pana”, “Pana” are not seen here. Chamo”, “Burda”, “Fino”, etc.
For the Venezuelan community abroad it has been difficult to find an original flavor, but without a doubt many of these locals have made the effort to bring us those wonderful dishes that we enjoy so much in our land. Obviously, we are filled with excitement and joy knowing that we can go to a place and enjoy a cachapita, an arepa, empanadas, sancocho, etc. However, I have found industrialized flavors in many of these places, often feeling flavors a little far from the originals, perhaps influenced by the quality of the ingredients or other aspects. Those places, I suppose, focused on ease of production, have chosen to use different techniques that significantly impact textures, flavors and even the presentation of the dishes.
In that sense, I must say that at Margarita Bistro I have rediscovered the tradition, the flavors, the atmosphere and the charisma of the Venezuelan.
Their empanadas have been a 100 out of 100; the flavors are there, the image is there. These people have done a great job of showing us that it's not just about ingredients or industrialized systems for mass production; These people have really put love into flavor and tradition. Just by looking at the empanadas you realize that they will have an original and authentic flavor.
I can say with great confidence that in the Houston area these are the best empanadas I have had in 9 years and have moved to the number 1 spot, displacing my other previous choice.
I predict much success for this place due to its great dedication and flavors, but above all because of the great people who served me as if I were a lifelong customer.
Thank you, Margarita Bistro!“

“Food was good for what it is. One of my pizza pastelitos was cold in the middle but it was still tasty. I’m not sure why there’s corn inside the ham pizza one as it doesn’t really make sense but I’d still recommend this place for a quick snack.“

The Cachapa cheese is very good accompanied by pieces of fried pork. Very tasty!!. The empanadas and ground beef pastries. Excellent, very good seasoning of the meat and the super crunchy empanada. And without leaving out the coffee. Keep up the successes!!“
