“Everything was good when it came down to the food but we didn't like the fact that the person the takes the plates was table watching it seemed as if every five minutes she would walk by looking over the table and as soon as we put a plate aside she was ready to grab it and when we went for a second plate she was grabbing plates we was not done with yet it was very uncomfortable having a dish hawk hover over us as we ate but beyond that everything else was amazing I don't like feeling as if I'm being rushed off to eat then leave overall the food was super freshParking: Handicapped parking was upfront close to the door so we was happy about thatWheelchair accessibility: There was access for a wheelchair but we didn't need it“

“We popped in for an unplanned bite with friends. We didn’t have a reservation and I highly recommend one. We were glad to be gifted one hour given our resy gaffe. Our waitress was charming and attentive. As expected, our food was high quality and delicious. While one of my favorite nigiri fishes tends to be loup de mere, the kanpachi was the winner of the hour!“

“When we arrived we were promptly greeted and seated. It did take our server to get to us a good 10 minutes before talking and telling us what the concept and food recommendations were. The setting of the restaurant is clean, and airy due to the sun room setting on one side of the restaurant. To start us off, we did some drinks that were good but did not find any favourites. The two cold starters were: Hamachi Yuzu: 2/5 because the yuzu yoghurt was overpowering and the kombu powder left a sandy grit texture on the teeth that made it almost annoying to eat. Could barely taste the hamachi. Madai Carpaccio: 1/5 because the crunchy togarashi and black sesame soy sauce enveloped the Madai and the saucy component was too strong to complement the fish. Oyster with caviar was fresh and briny. Very tasty. 5/5. Would recommend avoiding the cold starters besides the oysters and moving straight to the nigiri and hot components of the menu. From the nigiri portion, we ordered: Hotate, salmon, gizzard shad, akami, amaebi and madai. Fresh, fatty, flavoursome cuts of delicious fish. Definitely recommend, 5/5. Also, tried the Olive A5 wagyu nigiri with black truffle and it was unctuous and absolute yum! From their hot portion, we got the baby back ribs, iberico shumai, and lobster with sake miso. The baby back ribs were falling off the bone, tender and seasoned to perfection. The shumai was good with a pipette of ponzu sauce. The lobster was rich, not overcooked and the panko with the miso sake lent it a Mac and cheese-esque quality to it. Would definitely get these again. For dessert go the Japanese melon which was sweet and juicy and had none of the chemical aftertaste that is found in the fruits here in the states. The green tea kakigori was airy and light. Usually not a fan of red bean ice cream or desserts but this one came with a really nice red bean ice cream. Would have liked the portion to be more to balance out the shaved ice. Overall it was a great time! Price wise it was affordable for the amount of food we ordered.“

“While I have brand loyalty to a certain hospitality group in Houston, and the market is saturated, I am pleased to have found another go-to spot for high-quality omakase. Hidden can be found through a non-descript door of the center that houses Burger Chan and Conservatory. Hidden is familial and customers are seated in a U-shape counter. The chefs and hosts are engaging and super friendly. Hidden is BYOB with a corking fee. We had an 18-course omakase. Dishes range from oyster, nigiri, crudo, handroll, cooked items, apps, and a dessert. It was difficult for me to decide what my favorites were... they were delicious in their own unique way. While one reviewer disapproved of the toppings such as truffle butter and chili garlic, I found them to be pleasing and didn't feel like the fish was overpowered by them. The fish were buttery, fresh and flavorful. Worth a visit.“

“We were lucky enough to get the last service by Chef Jonathan. We had his Kobe fair well tour! And he made our experience amazing! We had recently had their parent restaurant Hidden Omakase and we enjoyed it but was recommended to try this joint for a lower price point and shorter meal.So for dinner they do 45 mins and they start on time so make sure you come a little early and take some pictures in the nft gallery out front. If you park it’s to the left of the Italian restaurant and has no signage.Once seated they get started right on the dot. But even though it’s a short service Jonathan explained what we were getting in great detail. We got better interaction here with the crew than at Hidden Omakase. It’s a younger group and more fun and lively. The Engawa was the best thing I have ever eaten at any sushi restaurant. This thing is life changing. And you’re able to get an extra piece as an a la carte add on. Do it!!! You will not regret it.My wife and I were so impressed, we will definitely be back and at this price point we can come more often.Best of luck on your next Journey chef Jonathan your skills will truly be missed here.“

“One of the best Japanese restaurants in the area. They are relatively new so it’s a hidden gem. The quality of sushi, nigiri, rolls and all the dishes are steps above most other Japanese restaurants in the area, a close second to Kata but with better pricing and easier to get reservations. The space and ambiance is beautiful. We frequent this place with family, have been to a birthday party here, and it’s now a family favorite of ours. I have no clue why this place is not jam packed, especially during lunch given their great lunch menu.“

“TL,DR: Some of the best sushi in the Houston area, with super creative and tasty rolls! This hidden gem sushi spot is tucked away in the corner of a strip mall in Sugar Land, TX and I’m so glad I tried it! Their sushi rolls IMO are in the upper echelon of quality for Houston sushi spots, especially when considering the relatively affordable price ($14-$16 per roll). Also, all of their rolls are plated and decorated very nicely, which definitely improves the experience as well. Will definitely be frequenting this place more often when I want sushi! Here’s what I ordered:-Suki Special Roll - shrimp tempura and cucumber topped with tuna, salmon, spicy crab, tobiko and green onion-Highway 6 Roll - unagi eel and fresh crab meat-Miu Miu Roll - fresh crab meat, tobiko fish roe, shrimp tempura, spicy mayo-Agedashi Tofu“

“My first time here, not only were we sat at a great section (seating is everything to me/it’s a vibe) but I had Keanon which made the entire experience freaking PHENOMENAL!!!!! I’m so picky with cocktails so I always order a dirty martini to be safe (trust me, restaurants do mess that up) but the cocktails were so good, well shaken. Keanon was so intuitive and checked in periodically without being overbearing where we felt like it’s a low key hint that I leave. Love Keanon and will request/visit soon!!Food isn’t great but atmosphere and service is everything. That’s my struggle when choosing a date -night restaurant. Atmosphere was great, drinks were awesome, food is mediocreService and atmosphere here is 10. Food…go to your nearest fav spot after leaving this place.“

“Such a lovely sushi spot! It looks like a sweet older couple runs the whole show, from the kitchen and sushi station, to serving tables. They don't take orders over the phone so if you want to-go, you still have to wait your turn in person. Their menu is huge for just two people managing the entire restaurant. The sushi pieces are so big, so the rice ratio is sometimes too much but I don't mind. Their yellowtail and spicy scallop sushi were my favorites, I would definitely come back just for that. The tonkatsu rice was delicious too! The slightly crispy battered pork with egg and rice was such a comforting combination. The wait is a bit long but that didn't bother us or anyone around us. The sushi is 100% worth it!“
“Love how Neo pays attention to the smallest details to ensure a fine dining experience. The staff were attentive and respectful, Chef was knowledgeable and talented, and food was incredible. We went on 3/4/24 for the Sushi Omakase and our favorites were Masu, Madai Crudo, Maitake, and the Maguro Handroll. Highly recommend!“

“The food was very good. Nice slices of fish to rice ratio on the nigiri. The rolls were also very fresh and not much rice either which is nice. The tempura vegetables were great, fresh and fried to perfection. I was impressed with the service too. Andrea was our waitress and she was very attentive. The food came out quickly event though there were busy, we got there at 1pm on a Monday after Easter. Keep in mind Fort Bend schools were out, this definitely contributed to the crowd. The restaurant was clean and nice as normal. We will be going back.“

“I've been wanting to try this place for a while now. I didn't have the time to sit down and eat but since I was in the area, I decided to pop in and get something to go. I got 3 rolls and an order of dumplings. All of them were so delicious. Lucky for me it was during happy hour and all of that only cost about 12 bucks. I will definitely be back. I really want to try their ramen!“

“This is my second time here and it was even better than the first time. The service is shockingly fast and very friendly. The quality and quantity of the rolls and sashimi could very well be the best in town. And wow the prices are so affordable, this place is unbeatable! “This is a restaurant in regular rotation in my dining life. The food is excellent. Service is efficient and unintrusive. The prices at lunch, are bundled for combos and more than fair. And I have noticed that for evening dining experiences, when the lunch specials are no longer available, there is an upgraded look and feel to all aspects of the food, atmosphere and service which feels like a better justification than just the “time of day” basis for the higher dinner prices.“

“I come here all the time and the services have been consistently excellent! They always fill my bowl to the brim and do not skim on toppings. “This is THE place for when my girlfriends and I do Girls Night Out and birthdays! Their food is fresh, flavorful, and doesn't disappoint. “We had the assorted sashimi plate which comes with 32 (?) pieces, da bomb roll, and potato and corn and crab croquettes, also some temakis. It’s definitely worth the wait time, and they are mostly busy. We went on a Monday evening and had to wait ~15 mins but it went by faster than that. All good, fish is fresh for the most part and prices are so fair. Will be back again :)“

“Iwa Ya on Bellaire Blvd hit the spot for lunch today! The atmosphere was inviting, and the service was quick and friendly. Even the miso and corn chowder soup impressed, offering a warm and comforting start to the meal. And to top it off, the prices were reasonable! “Izakaya Wa is one of my top 3 favourite restaurants. All the food is so delicious and has a seasoned taste. I definitely recommend the torimune fried skewers, one order comes with 2 generously sized skewers, they were so good I had to get 3 orders! I also recommend the sushi dinner, all the fish is so fresh and the salmon has so much fat and the bluefin tuna was amazing also. You should definitely come here. I don’t live in Houston and whenever we come here for a couple days, we always come to Izakaya Wa.“

“General Description:A traditional Japanese restaurant. They have booths and a sushi bar.The space is on the smaller side. The good:- Tonkatsu Ramen: Broth was a bit different than most Japanese style ramen. I don't like fatty/heavy broth base. This one was on the lighter side.- Yellowtail sashimi was on the fresher side. The bad:- Chicken was rubbery.- Broccoli was overcooked.- Wasabi mix was watered down.Overall:Worth trying.“

“Our favorite sushi place in Meyerland! We go here so often that the staff know what we’re gonna order lol. Nemo roll is amazing. We also usually share a sushi/sashimi bento box substituting extra tempura instead of rice. The cocktails we’ve had are really good, especially the lychee. Also the tiger eye roll, New Orleans roll, and jalapeño roll.“

“Local sushi hole-in-the-wall type restaurant. The menu is really good, but we usually make up our own rolls and they accommodate it well. We enjoy our meals at Yoshi's.Vegetarian options: Plenty of opportunities to avoid the animal products if you are vegan or plant-based. Miso soup, vegetable rolls, ramen, appetizers, etc.Dietary restrictions: We ask for some basic veggie rolls most of the time and the results are good.Parking: Either in front of their shop or in the whole foods parking lot, no big deal.“

“Before going to the Houston rodeo, I stopped by to park my car and get something to eat. My friend found out that this restaurant opens at 11:00am. But the shop owner welcomed us from 10:30am. The food tastes good. The shrimp tempura in particular came out really well. The food is served quickly and continuously. The atmosphere of the restaurant is comfortable and comfortable. “Poor customer service and outright discrimination took place yesterday evening when a group of friends and I came into this establishment for dinner. The host would not seat us, saying they "do not allow gym clothes after 6pm" YET my friends have had dinner at this restaurant in gym clothes a multitude of times. We proceeded to get the owner's contact information and as we were leaving, we witnessed them seat a group of people that came in after us wearing GYM CLOTHES. This type of behavior is unacceptable and I will never return back to this establishment again.“
