Beef Fajita Tacos

“Very unassuming place that was recommended by a coworker. I have to say that the tacos were amazing and great price! I had the pastor and beef fajita tacos in corn tortilla with cilantro. 2 tacos were only $4.79. Ladies behind the counter were very friendly. I'm going to be stopping by here regularly. You just cant beat the food taste and prices. Cant wait to try more of their stuff.”

La Carreta Taqueria South Houston Mexican • $$

“I had been here once before. Years ago, pre-plandemic. I checked online to verify it was still open Visited late afternoon. The place is fairly small- maybe 20-25 tables. There was a couple but they left minutes later. I ordered a cacao drink, because I asked if they had zanahoria-naranja (carrot-orange) drink and they did not. For dinner, I ordered the "cerdo asado", broiled pork meal. It also comes with green fried plantains, sweet plantains "maduro", nicaraguan style cole slaw, and "gallopinto", which is a uniquely nicaraguan mix of rice and beans, and fried cheese. The portion was large. I kept a portion of the broiled pork to take home. Everything was delicious. Broiled pork was juicy and tender.”

Sharon & Cindy's Pub 1002 Spencer Hwy, South Houston Pubs • $$

“It is a great place to have a few beers, listen to music, or watch sports games on TV. I love the game of pool, and I like the table condition and the space between the two is exceptional for stick maneuvering. The beer is cold, and the customer service is exceptional in my opinion. The experience is enjoyable and I have returned time after time.Parking: Parking is plentiful and paved, but as any other place when it is busy at peak times it's going to be scarce in the lot but the streets are available but just not at the front door. From my observation, I believe it to be wheelchair accessible and user friendly.”

“Tried it out with my mom not only because one of their workers goes to my spot, but because I remember their TikTok’s blowing up back in the day(2021). I unfortunately did not take pictures, but I did gobble up that food lmfaoWant to apologize if I was undercharged and got someone in trouble, I believe we ordered 5 tacos de bistec(fajita imo) 5 de pastor(trompo) and 2 gringas, I was asked if I got a drink and I said no and then my mom PROCEEDS TO GRAB a strawberry joya. I believe the total should have been $26 not $23.Gonna be as honest as possible.Went there around 9:40. Taco shop wasn’t too busy, but I was impressed about the amount of people still hanging out there even if it was 2-3 families and 12?.I loved the vibe there, brought me back to my roots. We had the tios hanging out, smoking by the trash can which I didn’t mind because they weren’t cat calling or heckling, just vibing. A group of police trying out the local food joint, but seem to be regulars. And a little dine in area inside, with a. Snack portion that we got to try out before close (10pm)Pastor:The pastor was alright, on a taco by itself I feel like it lacked a little flavor, but nothing the salsa bar can’t fix.($1ea.)Salsa bar had like 6 different salsas with some pickled onion and jalapeños you could appease yourself to. The salsa was good, just a little too runny for my taste.Gringas:Aren’t gringas supposed to be a quesadilla de pastor (trompo) with aguacate inside? Regardless this compared to a taco does NOT COMPETE! Please order con todo, as they do provide cebolla asada on the side with limones and bit that was one of the best quesadillas I had in a while, even if it was kind of small ($4 ea.)Tacos de bistec:Gotta say this bistec is better than mine, I’m gonna need that recipe! These were the best overall tacos in my opinion. But then again I only tried 3 items.Joya de Fresa:I was complaining ti my mother that this fruit punch joya tasted different, to which she clarified that it wasn’t ponche, but strawberry, and it was really good, though I’m not sure if we could take the bottle or not as the had an area to leave the glass bottles, so I finished the rest before leaving. ($3ea.)Esquite:Who doesn’t love an elote after eating?Order your elote con todo as the salsa isn’t spicy but the cup overall hits the spot($4 ea.)Next time I would like to try the pirata quesadilla, tripa, and campechana. Got my hopes up for the next round.Thank you to the three ment busting their a** through the night time!”

“I have came twice to this restaurant: once with two people and another with a bigger group of six in total. The atmosphere shows details of Colombia with items and photos/paintings. It is very welcoming with the experience of the food.I had a Sopa de mondongo with Buñuelos on the side. The food is served in large quantities so the higher prices are worth it.The soup tasted great (add the rice to make it better), but the buñuelo are ok (I have tasted better, but it is a close 2nd)Now, the only issues I had that make it a 3.5-4 star instead of a 5:- how long it took to make food (if you are looking to eat in, hopefully you are not in a rush because you will not eat there quickly)- Service was good in the aspect of kindness, but order taking and accuracy of order taking needs to improveoverall, it is worth a try for a different region hispanic food apart from the 100+ mexican restaurants in houston.I suggest the Sopa de Mondongo, Jugo de Maracuya (passion fruit) in water or milk, and buñuelosParking: lots of potholes in parking lot, but not their fault.”

“Food is great specially Menudo !, (menudo 1 time bad (y’all gave me the money back)and beans 1 time bad(I got very very bad attitude) ) but all the other times great food and service, we go very often :) . I do recommend this place to a ton of ppl and they have all gone and agreed. Just some word of advice (y’all don’t have to take it), Guys don’t argue back to customers on bad reviews… I’m not sure who’s in charge of that part but looks bad. Future Customers do read these before deciding to go try the food. Unfortunately there does seem to be an attitude problem and it did affect the amount of times we would go. Still giving yall the 5 stars ⭐️. Thanks for the amazing food!”

There is no chucks of ice in your cup waiting to break one of your teeth. You can order an ice cream whiz, which is a snow cone with ice cream on the bottom. My favorites are the root beer and orange.
