“We were at UVA for our father’s surgery. My sister suggested we get some fresh air and something to eat away from the hospital. I am so glad we did. I had a Bloody Mary and the Bayou Bowl. The Bloody Mary was perfect. The grits were so creamy. My sister had the omelette.She had the Expresso Martini. It was so tasty she had another. We sat on the back porch. If you are in the area. Give them a try.“

“My husband and I were greeted warmly by Mary, who took care of us and guided us through our amazing experience. We’re not drinkers, so we had Elderberry Mocktails. They were REALLY good. The atmosphere was cozy but trendy. For our apps, we enjoyed the Pimento Fritters, Fried Oysters and Pork Belly. All three were fantastic. Our entrees were the NY Strip and also the ribs. Both entrees came with beautifully flavored collards and whipped potatoes. Just phenomenal. I give Mary 10/10 for her suggestions, friendliness and making our experience special. “Red Hub was absolutely delicious! We had pulled pork and roast chicken (which were great) but the real hit was the mashed potatoes, which were incredible. We liked the variety in the menu and their partnership with Farm Bell gave us a lot of options (everything we tried was delicious, even the things that didn’t make our menu). We also used them for bartending and were very happy with the service they provided, even with complicated signature drinks.“

“Our meals from Vision BBQ were excellent. We got the brisket plate and the illness. Those pickled onions were wonderful. We tried all the sauces - my favorite was the NC vinegar and his was the apple butter mustard but said the smoked lime jalapeño hot sauce was a close second. The gluten-free cheese cake was a welcome surprise! Very delicious, totally recommend!“

“Selected Fig for dinner as part of Charlottesville restaurant week. We enjoyed the atmosphere and attentive staff. Our party enjoyed the Salmon, Vegan pie and Southern chicken. They were able to accommodate a nut allergy for us as well. Gumbo appetizer was very good and served hot. One inconsistency with the chicken dish. Two orders with different presentations. One with gravy over a centered dish. One not hot with the chicken to the side with gravy along the other edge. I did not mention the not hot meal to the server nor my friends as I didn’t want to disrupt their meal. I understand you would have corrected so I gave 4 stars. So good but not yet great.“
