“This is hands-down the best sushi ever. Their fish is fresh and tastes different (in a good way) than anywhere else. The service is always very thoughtful in where they seat you, when they bring out the food, and asking you what you'd like. Above and beyond. The atmosphere, is very peaceful and relaxing. A fantastic place for lunch or dinner. I wouldn't label this place as a "nice" restaurant, it's definitely more "mom and pop", but that's not at all a bad thing, it's just not flashy, certainly no flaming cocktails or waiters in suits. Again, not at all a bad thing“

“I have a love/hate relationship with this place. When it comes to events, everything is at the lobby once you walk in and it's filled with neon lights, a dimly lit bar full of many offerings of alcohol you can get, a few small sections for VIP for your friends, and usually a DJ playing their music. There's open karaoke as well but I don't know if people sing often in the lobby. So I have been here many times for my friends and even booked a room as well. Rooms are spacious and they do have pretty nice audio. But there is one thing that truly irks me every time I come here. So they have a touch screen where you can add your karaoke songs through YouTube or through their system but getting the videos to load is a pain. It's annoying to deal with because it skips to the next song in queue so if you are with a group of 5+ more people, it can be very stressful. The worst part is we asked the staff about it and they aren't really sure what to do about the connection. I mean they should really fix that because I'm sure it gets people upset. No one wants their song to be skipped. Aside from that, you can also hear the loudness from other rooms, I don't expect that to be an issue but it's noticeable on busy nights. If you do plan to go here, there's one thing I highly advise before going. Check their socials if they are hosting any event and call ahead to know about the room rates. The website shows their original flat rates for the room but in events, they raise the prices up. If you go in person, check the menu before deciding to put your money down. This place also adds gratuity to the bill so be prepared to drop down a lot. While I frequently come back here just to hang out with friends, karaoke is one of my favorite hobbies. Its never a good time when your song doesn't get played or you get charged way more than you should.“

“Me and my sister attended a lovely evening here for my birthday! Great food, great service, great drinks. Everything was great. Staff was even kind enough to check on my sister, who had a reaction to one of the foods we weren't aware she was allergic to. We had to leave earlier and didn't get to finish the experience but would love to return again next time I am in town. Highly suggest.“

“Visiting from Denver for a work conference and stumbled upon this gem on Google Maps. It’s located on top of a CVS so didn’t know what to expect. We were BLOWN AWAY with the Kobe dish on a leaf and the shrimp/scallops were just next level. We had to order a second Kobe beef!! The NC Bluefin Tuna special was awesome too!! So glad we took the risk and remember to never judge a book by it’s cover!! That’s for damn sure.“

“Excellent experience, food was amazing and fresh, possibly the best in the city. Service was as great as well but you can tell the management haven't trained the servers well because when came to opening our champagne bottle or pouring it needed assistance from the busboy and glasses were clawed from our table to pour the champagne. Both not a big deal but if it was a mediocre place I would have expected it, but the sushi here is great I hope management spends a bit more than time in training their staff better. Will definitely be back!“

“Absolutely great sushi and great service! Ordered the dragon roll, salmon lover roll, volcano roll, and 2 California rolls. Everything was perfect. We ordered take out after eating there several days prior (second pic with flying dragon roll). I’d say the price is very reasonable for such delicious and fresh sushi. Service was excellent. Will be our go to place for both dine in and take out!“

“The interior is beautiful inside! A great date night vibe. I was a bit disappointed that we were seated in the back corner even though we had reservations. The server was nice and helpful with the menu. Definitely try their tacos because they are so good and their scallop skewers!“

“nowadays, when hot pot restaurants come to mind, AYCE hot pot locations are most prevalent. this location does hot pot a little different -- all sets come with a predetermined platter of noodles & veggies (napa, enoki mushroom, spinach, broccoli, carrots, tofu, glass noodles, udon), and the price of what you order is determined by what course you order (beef, chicken, seafood, veggie). it's a good introduction to hot pot if you haven't had it before food: you can pick broth upgrades for a price. i picked spicy miso + tonkotsu, and i really liked it. i got the standard beef (9 pieces): it was a whole plate of thinly sliced beef. i have an allergy to peanuts, so i only received the ponzu sauce. the other has sesame and peanut sauce. the ponzu pairs excellently with the hot pot course. you also get a bowl of rice, which i was surprised by (growing up, i never really had rice with hot pot) ambiance: i really liked the decor. it felt a little bit like a bar with its dimmer lighting and neon lighting. was not expecting the seating to be entirely like a bar, so best for small parties. service was prompt and friendly!“

“One of the newest cocktail bars on King street! This place is super cool and has a bit of a speakeasy vibe.We only got cocktails but they were all super good and unique. One of the bartenders, Andres, who was making our drinks used to work at a Michelin star bar and really showed it.He even made us custom cocktails when asked and was very nice to talk to.The atmosphere is very cute and very Instagrammable. The only thing is you have to use wifi because the bar is underground and there's no signal but other than that will definitely be going back.“

“My long awaited review... so sorry to whoever served me that day because it's been a bit and I've forgotten your name (apologies please). This is my 5th time eating at Gyu Shige as my last two times were in the Rockville location. It was a busy night but my server was quick and responsive by bringing our requested meat dishes, and explaining their personal favorites for drinks and appetizers. Restaurant setting, in my opinion, has been the same, with conversations left and right --truly withholding the essence of Japanese bbq which is enjoying the fine meats cooked for you but also chatting with friends and family. For anyone who seems to be stuck on the price. You just have to understand that "you get what you pay for" meaning every dime you spend on this meal, the experience and food are definitely worth while. That's all I have to say and I hope other people have the same positive experience I had!“

“The best sushi in the dmv by far for the price. The people that run this place are so amazing and kind. The sushi is made out of amazing cuts of fish that are fresh and they are generous with their portions.I’ve eaten at multiple Michelin star sushi restaurants and this sushi rivals that, they really know their sushi. They’ve always been super friendly and accommodating. Treat yourself and support a family owned small business!!“

“TL;DR: Toro is where it's atCame here close to the end of lunch time and was able to snag a seat. Interior is small and minimally decorated, but very cute. Service is very fast and friendly.FOOD:~Toro Sashimi (5/5): they let the product speak for itself. Very good~Chirashi Deluxe (3.9/5): I love the variety of fish they give. Flavor/quality varies depending on the fish. I LOVED the mushrooms that came with this, I thought about asking for a bowl of it. Favorite fish we liked from here were: toro, crab stick (surprisingly), and white tuna.~Eel and avocado roll (3.5/5): basic~CA uni (4/5): yummy and fresh~Hamachi (3/5): mid quality and flavor~Scallop (3/5): again, not up to par~Saba (2.5/5): didn't have that pungent flavor that mackerel usually has~Aburi salmon (2.5/5): was over charred and couldn't taste anything but bitternessOverall, if we stick to the main things we liked, this place would easily be a 5/5. But if you want a variety of things every time you visit, then you MIGHT be disappointed.“

“After reading positive reviews on Google, we decided to try out this Japanese restaurant in Oakton. We opted for the Sushi & Sashimi Set for Two, which included eight pieces of sushi, ten pieces of sashimi, a California roll, and a shrimp tempura roll. We were both impressed with the food quality; the sashimi was incredibly fresh and melted in our mouths, while the sushi rice was perfectly seasoned and of excellent quality. The portion size was generous, and the set also came with complimentary salad and miso soup, which were both fresh and flavorful. For our appetizer, we had Agedash Tofu, which was perfectly cooked and had an outstanding balance of flavor. Our server provided excellent service, and the restaurant itself was clean and well-maintained, with a minimal design and warm wood-toned furniture that created an authentic Japanese atmosphere. We plan to return to try more dishes in the future.“

“Absolutely outstanding! From the moment you step in, the atmosphere captivates with its charm - a solid 10/10. But it's not just the ambiance that impresses; the food presentation is simply beautiful, and the taste is excellent. I've dined at similar places, but none have left a mark like this one. Plus, the value for what you get is great. Can't wait to return with my family for another wonderful experience!Parking: lots of parking available in garage or street, very convenient“

“One of the best values for food in the dmv right now. During lunch time they have a $10 bento box special with a choice of protein, rice, California roll, miso soup, and a drink. Sushi and ramen are very reasonably priced. Always a reliable go to.“

“I went here with a bit of hesitation as I am not vegan, nor vegetarian. I was actually blown away. The food was so delicious that I cancelled my back up restaurant and ordered one of the same dishes that I really enjoy. The ch'kn cauliflower was one of my favorites. So much flavor and very crispy, the ch'kn bao was also amazing. Highly recommend!“

“Heard great things about this sushi spot, so finally made a visit. The sushi was fresh and very good! A large selection of different fishes and daily specials. The apps and ramen were good, but nothing out of this world. Our server was also great as well, walking us through the best things to get. Apps: Takoyaki and Tempura Entrees: Assorted Sushi/Sashimi and Tonkotsu Ramen“

“We had dinner here for the first time on Thursday night, and it was such a treat. Service was amazing. Cocktails were fabulous. Food was good. And the overall ambience was so lovely. Highly recommend a spicy margarita, ordered less sweet. It was sooo good. Would go back for this drink alone. We would go back for the drinks and service and ambience for sure.“

“This was our second time at Yume. We came back with anticipation for another great sushi experience. Their seafood is super fresh and the combinations of flavors are so innovative. Service is always warm and efficient. Unfortunately, some of the rolls were over sauced with a heavy mayo component. Thus overwhelming the roll itself and destroying the nuanced flavors they do so well. I will try again, and request they “dot” the mayo sauce only.“

“Greatly located right next to a boba shop - this poke place is the perfect meal to have on the go! I say to go because their seating area looks more like a cafeteria ~ Their bowls are made pretty swiftly and easy to customize using their kiosks! There are various options to add as well as some sides too! I tried their taro chips and they were pretty good but wish they were preferably more crispier (some were a bit soft ) Plenty of sauce was provided and I do think there were plenty of fish pieces! Overall, 8.7/10 would definitely come back when craving Poke!“

“This place is TERRIFIC!! Small and easy to miss on a corner shopping lot, but not to be missed. The crispy tuna appetizer is out of this world and the specialty rolls I've had are also terrific. I had the pleasure of sitting at the sushi counter today and one of the chefs made these little wontons as a treat-- SO AMAZING. Wonderful beer and sake selection. This is worth coming from DC for!“

“One of our favorite places to come to when we need our sushi fix! The staff is so kind and friendly, and they even remember us. “The decor is so pretty! Parking was a breeze on a Sunday afternoon. My friend and I were excited to check this place out. We ordered our drinks and I was not a fan of the Thai tea, there was no flavor. Thankfully the food made up for it. The scallion pancake and gyoza were the perfect appetizers to complement our meal. The star of the show was the tasty spicy beef noodle soup! We left with our hearts happy and our stomachs full. Service was excellent and they made sure to check on us throughout the meal.“

“the inside of the restaurant is gorgeous, and the staff were extremely kind and polite, and they gave us spring rolls on the house! the only thing i found room for improvement for was that there was a bit too much sauce on some of the food, which overwhelmed the overall taste, but other than that small detail it was incredible! the best japanese restaurant ive ever been to!“

“This place is always packed, and there's a reason: It is amazing. Our go to is the bubba, yummy Yama and pan fried gyoza. It's right up there with the best sushi we've ever had. And they also have subtle touches, like they put the gyoza in styrofoam containers, and then they poke holes in the styrofoam to make sure the gyoza stays crispy and doesn't soften with its own steam. Also, they will hold open the doors for you if your hands are full with a carry out order. Such nice touches!“

“Kumo is my go to spot for sashimi/sushi in the DMV area. My favorite asian fusion restaurant for over 10 years. It is perfect for date night, special occasions and business lunches. I've taken my children here and they love it. Everything on the menu is delicious and their prices are reasonable. The sashimi and sushi are crazy fresh. Our usual includes Salt & Pepper Shrimp, Hunan Triple Crown, Salt & Pepper Soft Shell Crab, and General Tso's Shrimp. This hidden gem is tucked away in a strip mall in Kingstowne. They do get busy, so I would make a reservation especially if you're going on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.Parking: Open lot, plenty of parking“

“Takumi is a cute and cozy restaurant in Falls Church City. It has a sushi bar and a relatively small dining room. It is quite popular and may not be the best option for large parties. The sushi is fresh and generally better when you come for dinner. Its lunch menu offers many great options at reasonable prices. My favorite is its sushi/sashimi bento box for lunch.“
