The only reason it's not a FIVE is because the cute little waitress asked me and my friend what two sides we wanted with our lunch fish. She acted like the two sides came with it and then when we got the bill, we were both charged for the two sides. I felt like she was not being straight up with us and we both tipped her $10 each before we looked at the bill, I wish servers wouldn't assume that everyone is going to short change them and be honest and upfront, I love this place but I will from now on ask if the sides come with it and they should... However, the two pieces of flounder were delicious and we're so huge that I think they should only offer one piece of flounder and two sides and make it reasonable for people a grown man couldn't have eaten all that lunch LOL!

Me and my friends went to this restaurant and waited 5-10 mins just to order drinks.. there was a extremely loud party going on which made us yell across the table just for the waitress to hear us. Not to mention we only ordered and appetizers just to try the food because it was our first time and whenever you go into a restaurant and DONT SMELL no food cooking or anything is a RED FLAG to me. However we ordered chicken nachos and which came out COLD with maybe a dip of cheese smh and with sour cream on the side.. if you like nachos this was not the place for it.. we paid and left to go to another restaurant which was awesome check out Venture’s Kitchen guys!

I have always loved this place, but the food was disappointing tonight. The meatloaf tasted only like barbecue sauce. The mac and cheese seemed to be old - bottom of the pot, maybe? The apples and tomatoes in the salad were nowhere near ripe. The shrimp in the salad were served in the shell, but were slathered in barbecue sauce - we didn't even know what to do with that.The iced tea, collards and corn muffins were very good, and the service (from Brandi) was outstanding!

The smoked wings are my go to period!! However, the brisket is awesome and don't forget the cornbread! I am not a fan of a lot of their sides, the service depends on who is there, and well the ambiance is cool for what it is. It depends on where you sit! I used to love it but now the quality of food and people have gone down a lot!

I was visiting my son and this was my first experience and I loved the food. I got the smokehouse reuben and it was very filling. I only got 1 side but I was so full it didn't matter. I will definitely eat here again on my next visit!!
Very attractive restaurant with fun decor and classic furnishings. The server was first rate, taking excellent care of us. We were super happy to know they offer Coke Zero as my diabetic hubby prefers that to normal diet soda. The house made corn muffins with honey butter were super tasty and much appreciated. The County Burger was delicious but too big for me. Next time I will go for the cheeseburger that hubby ordered. The fries are seasoned and double fried so big marks for that. They were out of mash and gravy but we were their last table of the night so that's not a big deal. It really looks like everything is made fresh daily, not just the smoked meats.We had a great time and look forward to returning.

You have to get that mofo cornbread man I really enjoyed it. I ordered the 1/2 chicken, with smoked chicken wings, and 1/2 ribs, with collar greens, and Mac and cheese. My wait staff was outstanding and helpful I really appreciated her patience. (Give her a raise) At first I was eating in, then I had to leave. Due to the fact I had to get my travel group back home I bought my food home it was enough to feed my daughter, granddaughter, and myself. I Love a hardy meal that is prepared with old school love i.e.someone who knows how to cook BBQ. If I have the opportunity to return to Hampton VA I will eat there my entire trip because I want to try everything on the menu. Please don't change anything on your menu. I look forward to my next visit.
