So ce most of my jobs I've worked have had me going all over the 757, I made it my personal mission to find the best Mexican spots in the area. All of those spots, including my favorite, happened to be in the Southside... Until today. Los Compadres is brand new but they definitely hit the spots I needed hit. When I try a Mexican spot for the first time, I always try the rice & beans first. They're simple dishes, yet the flavor gives you an idea of how the rest of the food should be. The rice & beans both had great flavor. The quesabirria tacos??? Best in the 757 I've had. My coworker got the asada tacos and I immediately noticed the handmade tortillas. They do not serve sweet tea but that's perfectly okay because their hibiscus tea was waaaaayyy better anyways. The service was AMAZING. Our server was polite, attentive and had a great personality. For the establishment being an old Hardee's, the owners really took it and made it their own. The hand painted murals around the place are cool. The bar setup is really nice. The whole atmosphere was very inviting. Los Compadres is now my go-to Mexican spot and I HIGHLY recommend them to anyone in the area looking for great authentic food!
