“I recently planned a wedding reception at Dauphine's and it was incredible. The food, atmosphere and service was impeccable. The bride and groom were well taken care of, Courtney and Natalie were so easy to work with, communicative and really worked to listen to the couple's needs. It was such a fun, unique and beautiful space for a reception and provided numerous spaces to meet guest needs. The food was delicious and the staff were always on top of everything. “I’d recommend this place just based on the food itself. I had calamari and a regular lobster roll with sweet potato fries and it was delicious!But the staff is what made Georgetown Seafood special. Right when we walked in (out of a huge rainstorm), a staff member put a towel by the door for us to place our umbrellas on while another staff member immediately found us a table to seat our big group. They took the time to make us feel like VIPs, even down to the extra treats they offered to us after our meal!The place is small, has steep/narrow stairs to the upper level (where the bathroom is located), but even with that I would 100% eat here again and again.Thanks Georgetown Seafood for a wonderful experience!!“

I always have an issue with places that charge for bread, but we gave it a whirl and it was not worth the money, it was dry and unimpressive as was the crudo appetizer, which also lacked flavor but was fresh. The entree part of the meal was the shining moment with a NY strip steak cooked to perfection and accompanied by mashed potato puree and roasted carrots that were all superb. I had the salmon trio (smoked salmon, salmon tartar, and salmon roe) for an appetizer and sea bass for my entree. “Ellie Bird has been on our list to try since they opened. Like their sister restaurant Rooster & Owl, the menu is both refined and rustic, with an emphasis on small plates great for sharing. We went for dinner and ordered the bread basket, spring green salad, Vietnamese french onion soup, salted cod rangoons, pomelo larb, braised lamb shank and chocolate cake. The pineapple buns are a carry over from Rooster & Owl that I’d happily eat with every meal. The Vietnamese french soup is aptly named, a wonderful combination of richly aromatic braised oxtail broth reminiscent of a fabulous pho with the oniony, cheesy, crouton goodness of a classic french onion. The rangoons are a perfect execution of an American Thai staple and the pomelo larb burst with flavor. The lamb shank, expertly cooked and glazed, was easily split between the two of us and sat on a bed of herbaceous tabouleh.A delay in getting us to our seats at the chefs counter resulted in several comped plates throughout the meal and we were very grateful for the above and beyond. The asparagus and pine berry salad added to our starter course was a true delight, who knew they were such a good pair!I’ll be interested to see how the restaurant continues to evolve. While Rooster & Owl remains our go-to for special occasions, we will absolutely come back to Ellie Bird with friends and family in tow and certainly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal.“

This was a choice that we consciously made because we were celebrating our 19th anniversary sans children. Intimacy. A few reviews complain about price or the lack of selections on the menu. All we can say is: post-COVID prices have gone up significantly but that is true for everything that we, as a community, consume today. It might be harder to stomach the price increases for discretionary expenses like a fancy meal. In any event, please do not expect 1980s or even 2019 prices. Secondly, yep, it is pricey, but it is worth every centime. The "limited" menu is what really good restaurants do, not to gouge you, but to spoil you with a core set of dishes that will tantalite the palate of almost every true gourmand. NUE hits the mark rather well. Finally, one kink in the armor, is how food is served today and how waitstaff interact with customers. Partly caused by the clash of generations, e.g., servers and the served may have 30 to 40 years between them, partly because due to COVID the new wave apparently did not get to learn from the OGs who did not return to the hospitality business sector, and is likely partly due to the pace of life in the DMV as practiced by folks with maybe too much money. That service process part needs to be ironed-out, but it is not just an issue at NUE, but at most, if not all, DMV fine food establishments. We, for one, will be back to NUE very soon. We just need to save up for it and we won't have to wait a year.“

“This was our second time visiting Giovanni's Trattu. The restaurant is very small with approximately 50 seats, so reservations are a must. We visited mid-week at 6:30 (with a reservation). We were seated immediately upon our arrival. We were a party of 2. We ordered garlic bread, we split a Caesar Salad, we both chose the Chicken Parmesan, and we had the Spumoni Bomba for dessert. The garlic bread was a bit bland. I would pass on that next time. The salad was good. But the Chicken Parmesan was one of the best we have ever had. Definitely a wonderful choice. And the Bomba was great as well. It gets busy and with a small family run restaurant they get a little overwhelmed. The service was good and the people are friendly. Make this one of your stops when in the area!“

“Ambiance is an interesting hole in the wall. We begin with the fluffy warm bread. Soft and fresh and distracting from eating. Then the octopus salad. The octopus is just right; a good sear with a bit of smoky taste, cooked through and just right. Mussels: served with a few pieces of chorizo. Not too many to blot out the flavor of the mussels, mind you. The mussels were a bit dry, this one wasn't swimming in liquid like other places so it. Always fall for the liquid, ordering extra bread to dip into it like a weirdo. Grand marnier soufflés were good. Ask about the dog biscuits!“

“My wife and I went for Easter brunch. Food as always along with service was top notch. I like Arti's. The restaurant gives me that when I was a child (many moons ago LOL) and my Mom would take me to a cool restaurant for dinner after church type of feeling. Again food selections were great only thing was, they discontinued Chicken and Waffles on the menu. This was sort of a let down because that was the dish we had many times for Easter Brunch. When I asked the manager he explained that upper management revamped the menus throughout the Great American restaurants after the fire. I look forward to the next time my wife and I have dinner here. I hope that maybe upper management can find it in their heart to bring back the Chicken and waffles. Thanks for the good times.“

“Beautiful restaurant overlooking the water, outstanding service, and amazing seafood. I had read some of the reviews that were less than stellar but everything that we ordered was fantastic. We started off with their eggplant appetizer, which was full roasted eggplant -- delicious. For the main entree, I was debating between their grilled calamari and the scallops and the server recommended we share a half portion of the calamari and get the scallops. Great recommendation. The scallops were out of this world and a generous portion too. My wife's fish was delicious as well. No complaints about anything. The prices are a bit on the higher side but it's worth it when the food and the ambiance matches expectations. A definite 5 star for me.“

The Imam Baildi, Spanakopita, Patzaria & Pistachio Skordalia and the Hummus were all amazingly delicious and the Branzino (including the accompanying vegetables and potatoes) was a perfect dish. We sat outside, as we had asked in our reservation, and the streets were busy but we didn't feel crowded at all. The service was excellent. Really, nothing but compliments!
