“My wife and I drove an hour and 45 minutes to try The Bier Garden and we were not disappointed! Very friendly staff, attentive and quick service. The food was great! The "small" pretzel is still pretty big, the fried mushrooms were huge! We tried the rouladen (thin steak with mustard wrapped around pickle, onion & bacon), blaukraut (red cabbage), spätzle (a type of dense egg noodle), bratkartoffeln (fried potatoes and onions). My German wife was very happy and agreed that everything was delicious! Oh, and the gift shop is awesome too! Many awesome items and authentic foods. I was hoping my wife would find some things that reminded her of her childhood in Germany and she absolutely did. As an American who has never been to Germany it gives me a chance to try these things too. Just an all around cool place. I definitely recommend giving it a try!”

“I love this secret spot in Portsmouth!! If you are looking for a local business owner to support, this one is it!! The servers are nice and pleasant! Even though they are a brunch spot that closes at 3pm on Sunday's (wish it was 5pm for the after church crew), they treat you with respect and provide you with fresh food even at 230pm! They made my daughter's 18th birthday brunch a great experience! My 10 yr old gave them a 10 out of 10! Clean and classy environment too!! It's five stars for me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“This place is great! I have gluten issues & I am vegan so to find a place that can accommodate me other than just offering salads or sides was awesome. Got the Lions mane chicken sandwich with waffle bread & it was fantastic!! Elderberry tea is really good & you can get all their teas iced which I loved. It does take a bit to get your food because it’s really cooked to order but our food was piping hot when it came out. We will definitely be back next time we are in VA!”

The best oxtails and mac'n cheese I've had at a Jamaican spot. The oxtails are tender and the mac'n cheese is seasoned well. The price for the large oxtails is affordable too!”

“Today is the second time that we came to visit this restaurant. This place never misses. Both times the food was absolutely delicious. Very authentic Thai food! The waitress, She is always very nice and accommodating. She's great! The bathrooms are very clean, and the restaurant in general is also very clean. The owner painted several of the murals inside the restaurant, it's beautiful! Also, alot of their decorations have come directly from Thailand! I love the pad Thai , my husband has tried two different dishes, and both were was amazing. The soup he got this time was a Thailand traditional and authentic dish... it had a very awesome coconut taste that I can't even explain. The prices are great as well, we got the crab Rangoons again, and they are just so delicious. Everything about this restaurant is five stars to me, if you have not checked this place out, you are missing out!”

“My husband and I went to Admiral's to celebrate our 38th anniversary.Everyone from the host at the front door who took our reservation to all the servers who waited on us were very friendly and accommodating.Big shout out to Shannon our main server she was excellent, friendly, knowledgeable, and patiently answered all of our questions, which was a lot, since it was our first time eating there.The ambience is so inviting and beautiful, it is the perfect place for celebrating any occasion.Now for the food!Everything we ordered was delicious, seasoned to perfection, hot, and came out in a timely manner which I love!Loved their complimentary assorted bread basket with 3 different spreads. Our favorite bread was the jalapeno cheddar cheese called the "innocent bystander" and the maple butter spread. They were so good hubby ordered a basket of just those to take home. The first bread basket is free, but you pay for the next one, which we didn't mind because they were just that good! ?For appetizers I had the table side caesar salad, so delicious hubby had the lollipop lamb chops.For our entrees I had the lollipop lamb chops (oh my goodness)!! beer battered onion rings (the best I've ever had), and sweet potato praline,It tasted just like my sweet potato souffle, absolutely delicious!Hubby had the entree sized lamb chops, crab cake, and lobster mac&cheese. We didn't have any room for dessert, but if I did it would have been their key lime pie!Our experience at Admiral's was outstanding.If I had one little critique, it was that the bathrooms are outside of the restaurant like at the movies.Other than that we say BRAVO!??Y'all have got to give this place a try!! “This is definitely a locals bar with a fun and friendly atmosphere. We were there specifically to hear the band. There are lots of tv's, a big bar and tables and some electronic dart boards. This is the kind of place that everyone knows your name. Loved it. We had good service - maybe a tad slow but they were getting busy and she was training someone. We ordered the teriyaki wings and chicken basket. My husband said the wings were really good. And they were big and juicy. Another couple joined us and we shared and they said the same thing. No less then orders of 10. The chicken basket was just ok. The fries were cold and the chicken a bit overdone. The prices were reasonable too. I didn't feel like anything was overpriced. And they have a HH until 7. I think it's drinks only. No food specials....but I could be wrong. If you like a good, locals bar then stop in. Nothing fancy. I think my husband and I will be returning again.”

“I ordered Super Wok to go, I got the Crab Rangoon, Beef Lo Mein, Orange Chicken, Fries and Wings (Honey BBQ).The Crab Rangoon was good, nice and crispy.Beef Lo Mein ,the noodles were soft with a lot of flavors.Surprisingly the fries were seasoned well and tasted good.The Orange Chicken wasn’t my favorite the sauce was not tangy like most orange chicken.The Chicken Wings was ok the sauce didn’t stick and the wings weren’t crispy or crunchy. I understand that it was a to go order but it would had some type of crunch to it.”

“We stopped at Griff's to celebrate Saint Patty's Day and MEAC. We did not eat this time even though I've previously had their food and can say it's decent bar food. The Chef Lonnie wings are amazing. A play on a sweet and spicy wing. They had Saint Patty Day drink specials which included $5 Jameson shots and $5 Green tea shots. I was sold! They also featured a list of specialty drinks specifically for Saint Patrick's Day. The Orange Irish Mule was amazing! It's spacious on the inside with pool tables on one side. They also offer smoking outside on the patio”

If you're not doing in I recommend you order ahead as they cook your chicken when you order it, so you can end up waiting 20-25 minutes if you don't. But it IS worth the wait! I don't know how they are able to get the chicken so flavorful, crunchy, and moist. We had the 12 piece dark, family meal with mashed potatoes and gravy, which are really good also. The meal was so good, we went back the next day! This location is connected to another spot, and though there's seating I think it's mainly set up to be a takeout spot. I highly recommend.”

“Ms. Faith is very kind and easy to work with! She texted with me about our wedding cake order for several days before/after Thanksgiving, AND throughout dealing with the death of her own sister. I was able to get our cake toppers and some extra flowers to her a few days before the wedding, and let her design the cake with only a few reference photos. Our small lemon cake was gorgeous, and absolutely delicious! We are so glad we could support a local small business and a really wonderful lady!”
