“Locals have extolled Sub Rosa's breads, but because I live out of town the bakery is closed or sold out on most of my visits to RVA. Yesterday (Friday), I happened to be in town for my husband's heart procedure. He loves LOVES bread, especially by the loaf, and I decided I wanted him to wake up in the recovery room to a fresh loaf. So, I trekked over early and learned that they were sold out and it was explained that the loaves I saw were for wholesale. When I selected some other yummy looking items, I shared what I was up to. The cashier said "wow, that must be hard." Waterworks for me at this point. They went back to triple check and found a few spare loaves that were put out for sale. The raving about the bread (we had the original) is not overstated. Crunch, density, chew, taste. All perfection. Most importantly though, they were very kind to a person on a hard day.“

“a really cute vegan bakeshop in carytown! my friend and I went and we both got the banana pudding and I got a rice krispie treat. the rice krispie treat tasted just like the real thing and the banana pudding was great too. they also have a lot of fun stickers on display you can purchase as well. definitely recommend taking your vegan friends here!“

“SO many great flavors to choose from; roasted strawberry will spoil you on regular strawberry ice cream forever! The cannoli ice cream(with mini cannoli shell) was excellent. My daughter always gets a sweet little macaron on top of whatever she chooses. It’s such a great spot to grab a great scoop (or two!) of ice cream.“

“I'm visiting RVA and have been to Ironclad 2 days in a row now! Friendly & hospitable staff. Iced coffee is pretty good, 7/10 but not mind blowing. To be nit-picky about one thing, the iced cups are cheap plastic and liquid kept leaking out the sides of the lid. But the food here is really the star imo. Yesterday I devoured a delicious bacon egg & cheese biscuit, and today i got the Pain au chocolat - one of the best pastries I've ever had. Atmosphere is cool too. This will be a frequent stop for me whenever I'm in town.“

“A friend and I went to the store this week, it was well worth the 5 hour drive! The service was super! The Box lunch was awesome! The Breads were the best ever! You will not be disappointed! The Blueberry cookies, challah bread, Ukrainian bread, pumpkin bread, pimento cheese and honey butter cannot be matched anywhere else! Kudos to all the staff who made the delicious bread and goodies! “I was in Richmond this week for work and wanted to find a local Meditteranean spot to grab something to eat. I luckily stumbled upon this place through google and I couldn’t be happier I did! If I were a local, I’d be here all of the time. Seriously! Absolutely delicious, fresh food! I got the lamb schwarma wrap with tabbouli and highly recommend.On top of that, I also wanted to say the customer service was top notch! I ended up eating my food in the place and talking to the owner for almost an hour. He was wonderful and I loved hearing his story! I couldn’t be happier to support someone like him and a good business overall. I will be back next time I’m in town!“
