Beer Bars in Richmond

“It's the hotel lobby. It's not a true restaurant. You order at the bar. The salmon bowl was fantastic. But if you're looking for a sit down with a restaurant feel, this isn't it. The front desk staff looked confused when we said we made a reservation. But the food was very good!“

“Great visit! I came for happy hour with some colleagues. The happy hour menu has some great deals. We got fries for eh while table. I ordered beef & chicken empanadas and the karaoke kool aid. Good drinks & great service. Got busy towards end for jazz night and our server for a little overwhelmed, but was still sweet and friendly! As for the vibe, I love all the photos around the place. There's a little stage on the side, not just for jazz night but apparently they hold events almost every night. Once it started getting dark out, it seemed more like an intimate jazz club with low, blue lights and table side lights & candles. Will definitely have to come back and try other items on the menu, it all sounded so good.“

“Accessible parking for Vasen was a challenge. I had to park on the street a block from the entrance. The ramp into the brewery was minimally compliant and very steep. Once I was in the building, everything was accessible. The bathrooms were open and clean. The bar and seating areas were completely accessible. There are no gluten fee options for having a drink, but the food trucks that visit may have GF options.“

“Pretty cool local spot. Was definitely a good bar burger. I don't know that it's a gourmet burger and I would definitely say if I'm three beers in I'm really loving that burger. I also went on a stand-up comedy night. Well they were not very good I appreciated the idea that the bar goes for a local concept. I think if you're looking for a fun night with a few beers and friends and some food, this is the place for you“

“Ardent is my favorite brewery in Virginia. I love Pilsners and lagers and Ardent brews some of the best. I feel like most breweries concentrate on IPAs but Ardent provides a nice mix of all, so all types of beer drinkers should be satisfied. It's a great space to hangout whether you are inside or outside, there's plenty of seating options. All the staff is friendly and attentive, it must be a great working environment as a lot of the staff have been there for many years. There's plenty of food options as well as Ardent has a nice menu of sandwiches, salads and appetizers. Also within the same parking lot you have Eazzy Burger and ZZQ BBQ which are top notch! You can pickup beer to go and they also provide delivery options as well.Visit the Barrel Room around the corner for some of their beers while watching comedy or singing along with karaoke night.Fun, food and great beers. What more can you ask for?“

“We catered a welcome dinner for our wedding for 90 guests through Jalapenos in Carytown. The event was at a local brewery. We ordered a wide variety of items including tortillas, fajitas, steak, chicken, rice, quesadillas, dip, and other items. All the food was extremely fresh and tasty, with great portions! It came right on time, and was set up perfectly! We received so many compliments on all the food, and people kept going back for seconds. Carlos and his team were such a pleasure to work with, and cared so much about the success of our event. We could not recommend them enough.“

“Dinner with a friend at The Savory Grain. Early reservations for two and were seated immediately. It had been a long time since I had been out so we really wanted to talk over drinks before ordering so I checked with our waitress that this was ok. We did not want to tie up her table if a turnover was needed. She encouraged us to relax and go at our own pace and asked us to let her know when we were ready to order since she did not want to keep interrupting us. A couple of happy hour beers in we ordered the fried green tomatoes appetizer, shrimp and grits entree, and the meatloaf entree. The beer was nice and cold, the food was absolutely amazing. The appetizer arrived long enough before the entree for us to enjoy it. The entrees were generous enough that we both brought home leftovers and mine became my husband’s dinner. I could not have asked for a nicer evening out.“

With its exceptionally high ratings and thousands of reviews, it seemed everyone had something positive to say about this eatery. And rightfully so, the food was simply delicious, with each dish receiving glowing recommendations. Of course, I must echo the sentiment and highly recommend their Vietnamese pho!“

“The food was delicious! Seriously, I think it was called the tavern chicken, so worth the wait. The hummus and veggies, so good! However, the wait for food and drinks was pretty long. There was one night when I swear they forgot we were even there.“

“Good location. Simple decor. And easily accessible kiosk for ordering while the owners cook away in the kitchen that is open to viewing. Food is cooked just right, the sauce gives all the food elements a great flavor profile. I may like this more than Teriyaki Madness.“

“I find that hotel restaurants generally are just satisfactory but this restaurant is the exception. It was an overall outstanding dining experience. It is located in an atrium and beautifully decorated in a farmhouse or French countryside setting and one's feels instantly comforted by the ambience. Even the cloth napkins are soft and cozy. The waitstaff was friendly, and attentive. We ate breakfast there and the food was delicious, plentiful, and artfully arranged on beautiful artisan plates. We lingered over coffee and it was the perfect morning to end our stay in Richmond. We would definitely come back here and highly recommend this restaurant.“

“i came here in support of a fundraiser for the elementary school nearby; i'm glad i did! the food was so delicious, and beyond what i expected. i would consider myself a cheese lover, so i had to try the UMGC which consists of mozzarella, parmesan, goat cheese pesto, with some tomatoes. it was essentially an elevated grilled cheese. it was perfectly seasoned and had the best cheese pull-- i wish i captured it. the ambiance was certainly cozy. i came during the cold, but i'm sure in warmer times it's a lot better. it was right in the center of the surrounding neighborhood, which gave the market a sense of community. the servers brought our food out to us. if you need anything you can head inside or ask one of the cashiers for help. i would rate it higher if i could, but i definitely recommend trying union market!“
