“This was my first time going to this place and we loved it. Food was great and the staff showed so much love , were funny & energetic. We sat right down once we arrived after booking on open table. Each table was fully seated and service was still great. Definitely will be back next time I'm in Richmond ??“

“We had an excellent dinner at Blue Atlas! I made our dinner reservations to celebrate a friend's birthday, which was graciously acknowledged by dessert and a glass of champagne on the house. Besides the birthday accommodations, the dinner was delicious! Very flavorful, and came out in a timely manner. We got to sit on the patio, which I highly recommend! So beautiful and peaceful to dine surrounded by wildflowers. Finally, our waiter, Boss, was extremely kind and helpful. I would highly recommend Blue Atlas, whether you live in Richmond or are just traveling through!“

“It's the hotel lobby. It's not a true restaurant. You order at the bar. The salmon bowl was fantastic. But if you're looking for a sit down with a restaurant feel, this isn't it. The front desk staff looked confused when we said we made a reservation. But the food was very good!“

“Locals have extolled Sub Rosa's breads, but because I live out of town the bakery is closed or sold out on most of my visits to RVA. Yesterday (Friday), I happened to be in town for my husband's heart procedure. He loves LOVES bread, especially by the loaf, and I decided I wanted him to wake up in the recovery room to a fresh loaf. So, I trekked over early and learned that they were sold out and it was explained that the loaves I saw were for wholesale. When I selected some other yummy looking items, I shared what I was up to. The cashier said "wow, that must be hard." Waterworks for me at this point. They went back to triple check and found a few spare loaves that were put out for sale. The raving about the bread (we had the original) is not overstated. Crunch, density, chew, taste. All perfection. Most importantly though, they were very kind to a person on a hard day.“

“What an incredible German restaurant ! I was visiting Richmond VA and had the opportunity to visit for dinner. The food and service were incredible even though it was very busy on a Thursday evening. The food was exceptional and so flavorful! Definitely recommend! - but you should call and make a reservation given the restaurant is very popular and busy.“

“Front counter staff is friendly and quick and if you've been there, you've likely met the owner, Olaf. He takes great care of his guests. The place is super clean with tons of seating. Clearly, everyone has found out about it because it's busier every time I go—and I almost always run into someone I know. But there's still plenty of seating. High-quality coffee and food, great atmosphere, and you're supporting a local small business.“

“I recently organized a couple of catering orders from The Smoky Mug, and it was an exceptional experience, largely thanks to Dan’s superb accommodations and friendliness. The catering itself exceeded expectations. I highly recommend The Smoky Mug for their top notch BBQ, and kudos to Dan for making our events a resounding success!“

From delicious array of breakfast items like biscuits, bagels, and wraps to their wonderfully creative lunch options, easily makes it one of the best places in Northside. Oh, and the coffee? Fantastic blend and variety. Let's not forget the employees! They are the nicest and coolest bunch of folks you would ever hope to see working in a coffee shop. A+ joint with a groovy atmosphere and makes you want to settle in for a while and enjoy your cuppa.“

“Very short wait at 11 AM on a Friday. Waitress was incredibly observant and did everything-even refilling my coffee without me seeing her doing it. Breakfast was tasty and filling. Decor is fun.“

She was sincerely apologetic and even arranged for a ride back to our car. A wonderful mother -daughters experience.“

“Every time I come here it just gets better and better. Had dinner with my girls for Mother's Day last night. I was so good. Of course I had the French Dip with Fries. So delicious. Tender Roast. I come here for the Food but the Vibe is something special here. And to my waitress you were AWESOME.“

“Simply a wonderful experience. We came in looking for snacks and drinks, which is the primary output of this location. The menu is simple and affordable. I got the cheese with an English cheddar, and it was served with excellent toast and a grainy mustard. My friend got one of the baguette sandwiches, and it came with a great portion. We also loved the beers available, they had an earl gray one on tap that I've been searching for since trying at a different bar years ago! The service was great and fast as well. We sat ourselves after alerting the bar staff we'd come in, and they were really prompt and attentive. I also loved the atmosphere, quiet enough to have a full conversation but not so quiet you felt uncomfortable doing so. There is outdoor seating by the parking lot where folks came in to order at the bar, so that's certainly a great option for nice weather or for pet lovers. Overall really good affordable and simple food, coupled with a nice selection of beers. I can't wait to return here!“

“the tea selection is great, and the food is super tasty. we had the chocolate crepe, and it was divine. I believe they use a dark chocolate, making the crepe not sickeningly sweet. perfect. I took mine to go, but the atmosphere is super cute and good for quaint tea with friends or quiet time alone.“

“The vegetable quiche I had was delicious-fluffy and rich and very satisfying! My friend had the cauliflower curry soup and she gave me a taste-it was superb! Creamy and the spice was spot on. We lingered at the table and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves'“

“Our go-to for desserts, and they just happen to be vegan! Flavorful, beautifully prepared, unique items you can't find elsewhere. The savory options are amazing too, they are magicians with seitan. Don't miss their seasonal offerings for holidays! Most recently we had a delicious box of items for high tea from their Mothers' Day menu and everything was perfect and fresh. We are really lucky to have Sunflower Gardenz in our city, a hidden gem for sure“

“Great local, neighborhood café with cozy atmosphere, warm service, and even cozier food. Try a meat, egg, and cheese bagel—my favorite is chorizo; it comes as a layer of spicy sausage crumble. The coffee & espresso are great, and the café is always clean. Excellent place to bring family, friends, and/or coworkers.“

“IVegan @ NuVegan Café in Richmond, Virginia. The vegan macaroni and cheese was the best Mac and cheese I’ve ever tasted. Collard Greens highly recommended on Happy Cow app and did not disappoint. Extremely tasty. The black bean burger also tasted scrumptious. We are going back to try the vegan Mexican food later today. I prefer to eat at vegan only restaurants due to cross contamination of animal products at non-vegan establishments. Go vegan! The only thing I was upset about was that to get just a paper napkin you had to break open a plastic ware (forks / knives / spoons) set and they were not the compostable kind). My boyfriend did not need the plastic ware but needed the paper napkin and got mad at me when I told him that I had silverware to remedy the problem in my car parked directly outside, but it was too late, the plastic ware was already broken open and he didn’t care about the planet that much. So it became my problem. He was like. “let me enjoy my meal!” Grrrrr. How could I say anything after that? We will return but I will bring my paper napkins and silverware en tow. NuVegan even gave us three plastic ware sets and we were just two people. We returned the extra two plastic ware sets and I was grateful that NuVegan took them back. Some restaurants don’t take stuff back due to Covid-19 cooties issues.“

“Me & my sister wanted to try a new place on Sunday night & after reading some great reviews we decided on The Hive. We were enthusiastically greeted by one of the owners, Marvin & took a seat at the bar. We chatted with him for most of the time , such a nice guy . We had just missed the sunday crowd & live music but the vibes were still good & the playlist they had on definitely had us jammin lol. We ordered some cocktails which were made by the other owner, Bee & they were delicious, perfectly balanced. We decided to split 2 entrees, the Peruvian chicken & per Marvins recommendation , the shrimp & grits. The chicken was big , juicy & full of flavor. The shrimp & grits were soooooooo freakin good im still talking about them 2 days later, i probably had 2 bites left and took it home with me so i could experience the flavor again as a late night snack lol . Definitely will be back again , thanks again guys !!!“

“The convenience of the location is extremely important to me as I live in Jackson ward. The only thing I can say is be prepared to wait a bit. Not their fault, they're super popular but you aren't popping in for just a quick coffee unless you drink it black. Also, somehow my price is always high but that's on me for always wanting their mozzarella pesto sandwich with my specialty coffee!“

“The realest hidden gem in Richmond. Tucked away in the corner of an office building, the food at Nunu’s Cafe is incredible and the owner is so sweet, she gave us a free drink and even cut everything in half for me and my friend to share! We got the chicken salad croissant (her specialty), chicken cordon bleu, and nutella and apricot cookies. Inhaled within minutes.“

“We arrived late on Sat. afternoon (RVA Convo Ctr was having an event) and all of the local restaurants were slammed. There were 7 in our party so menu items were limited but we were treated well and our server was great! She made 7 smoothies/milkshakes and they were all great. Prices are reasonable and portions are good. We will be going again but next time before the wave of convo diners descend on the local eateries. Thank you for your great service - we really appreciated it and the food.Vegetarian options: non dairy alternatives for milkParking: It's easier on the weekend to find places to park. On street is limited and you may or may not have to pay. There are lots and garages if you just want to stroll then eat. Visiting the area is the effort to locate parking.“

“I love Maple Street it's such a cute little restaurant that is inviting and fun. I love how they have different themes to call out your order. All of the wait staff is so kind, helpful and helpful. I got the Potatoes O'Ryan Bowl, Maple Tap Coffee and Iced Cinnamon Biscuit all were flavored well and tasted really good such a great visit. This days theme was your favorite artist or song and it was fun to hear the different artist and song choices.“
