“What an incredible German restaurant ! I was visiting Richmond VA and had the opportunity to visit for dinner. The food and service were incredible even though it was very busy on a Thursday evening. The food was exceptional and so flavorful! Definitely recommend! - but you should call and make a reservation given the restaurant is very popular and busy.“

“We had a lovely time. The food was very good. The cabbage small plate was surprisingly addictive (needed more salt?), the shrimp was good but it was hard to identify the shrimp in the sauce, and the smoked fish fritter was my favorite--tasty and very beautiful plating. The chicken schnitzel was huge and very crispy. The venison was good (needed more seasoning) with a generous portion, charred onion quarters (should have been softer) and an interesting sauce. The veal ravioli pasta dish was good but might have been better with a touch of acid. We shared one dessert--the sesame-themed one, and it was compelling. Despite our little quibbles, we enjoyed everything. Service was prompt, courteous, and helpful, though paced a bit faster than we are used to. Overall, we were pleased.“

“Amber, Allison, & Brian were absolutely phenomenal!! My boyfriend and I are visiting from Charlotte and had the best time because of these 3! Very personable, attentive, and helpful. I would come back to Richmond just to have these three as my bartenders again. The best thing Carolina Ale House has ever done was hire these three wonderful people on their staff. I guarantee you will get nothing but the best service from this bartending staff!“
