“We dined at The Porch over the weekend. Truthfully I would only give 3.5 stars. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious and the service was very good. However, the restaurant was VERY warm and we did not like that we had to swat away flies the entire time we ate. Plus we were celebrating my sons birthday who is dairy free, and they didn’t have any dairy free desserts, so we couldn’t sing happy birthday to him.“

“Although my wife and I only got appetizers, they were delicious! Coconut Shrimp and Scallops over Street corn. The atmosphere was casual and most welcoming. There were many delicious looking entrees and we will be back. Oh and Manager Mollie was very friendly and made us feel right at home. Thank you.“

“Went to the 3NB in Virginia Beach, VA to enjoy some really good food and beer. Today we had a group of 18 people and our servers were on point with everything. When you arrive you will find a clean and cozy atmosphere during the early parts of the day. Restrooms were very neat and clean with very unique sinks for hand washing. I don't want to ruin our server's name but D did an excellent job handling at 18 orders and checking on us. Things started getting busy with customers and she still served them as well as she served us. The food was flavorful to the very last bite. I really enjoyed the detailing, condition, colors, and design of this facility. Plenty of space for parking right across the street, within safe walking distance. Great stop at 3NB. Thanks for a wonderful time!“

“The food was outstanding. I've never had such a flavorful, well seasoned, perfectly cooked chicken breast. I tried my partner's snapper, and it was also scrumptious. Try the shishito peppers!! We were doted on by the staff (wait staff and manager) and it was greatly appreciated. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table which really isn't bad for a Friday night in a popular spot. “We held an event in the Sly Fox Speakeasy. The bridal shower was a very lovely event thanks to the staff. The food was wonderful and our waitress was fabulous. I must thank the event coordinator Maria for all her help. It is a beautiful space and our guests were very impressed by the venue, staff, and buffet. I highly recommend the Sly Fox for private events.“

“Mermaids in Virginia Beach is a lot of fun!! Went in there the other night with some friends and the girls were so friendly, they made us feel right at home. They were amazing to watch! I was told they are getting ready for the Pole and Floor show competition on Saturday, May 18th. I think that's worth going to just from what I saw. The specials were fantastic and the menu was great for either a late night snack or a quick lunch. The music was good, kept everyone upbeat and the security was visible, but not over imposing, and that made everyone comfortable. Can't wait to go back and drag a few more friends out! Of course I would feel comfortable walking in there alone for a drink and a snack :)“

“My boyfriend and I visited for dinner last night and absolutely loved the surf & turf tacos! The service was excellent as well - the staff were friendly and the food was brought quickly. Portions were big, so we each brought a taco home. He also enjoyed his perfect patrone margarita - I got a different one I didn’t care for as much, but they had a generous amount of alcohol. Next time I’ll try a frozen beverage, as they looked delicious.“

“Came to the Lucky Oyster with family and it is our come to, when we visit! I had the Pungo Farms Chicken fried Chicken, garlic mashers, and green beans; it was the best I have ever had! “My brother and i came here for breakfast. I love diner/cafe type atmospheres in small towns. Rick's Cafe is just that. My 2 eggs, 2 links, toast w. applesauce and black tea was all cooked perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and lovely. The people who came in were definitely mostly locals or older seniors who usually frequent places such as these. Perfect in what it is. “It had been almost a decade since I've frequented this restaurant. Previously my friend & I had eaten in the bar area. It seemed small then with a limited menu. It has either expanded or I wasn't aware of the larger dining room. My son was here for Mother's Day & he suggested 1608 Crafthouse because of a web site he checks for restaurant choices, mostly in large cities. There were a few local recommendations for Hampton Roads. This restaurant was one of them. So we decided to give it a try. It was a pleasant surprise to walk into the spacious dining area with ample space between tables and booths. There were even brave souls in the outside seating. It was much too chilly for me to consider an outdoor table. The dining space was furnished with the typical tables & booths aimed at the casually dressed patrons. They included a mix of families and what appeared to be groups of friends. Service was prompt with our server bringing menus and water. She also took our drink orders. Silverware was wrapped in a paper napkin with a supply pre-placed in a box at the end of the table. The menu was quite unusual. Sandwich & Burger line items were interspersed with wonderful entree choices. Not being a fan of sandwiches & large burgers, my mind scanned through the menu items to find seafood or fish. My son first gravitated to the Appetizers, which he loves but I usually pass up. I'm certainly glad he was my dining partner as one appetizer was one I'm glad I didn't miss. Drink - Bourbon Splash This was one choice I couldn't rank high. The drink arrived tasting like straight lime juice & was not drinkable. The server was nice about taking it back. The replacement was slightly better but had way too much lime juice. I'm rounding up from 1.5 to 2 because the bar used ice chunks rather than crushed ice. Appetizer - Brussel Sprouts with Shishito Peppers This was amazing & a solid 5. From the presentation to the taste it was absolute perfection. The large halved Brussel Sprouts were so tender that they had the consistency of Mushrooms. The Shishito Peppers, mixed with the Brussel Sprouts had the perfect amount of kick. You absolutely cannot overlook this culinary masterpiece. Appetizer - Oysters on the Half Shell This was another miss. Not only were there no Oyster forks furnished, there were no extra napkins for what is always a wonderful but "messy on the hands" treat. The James River Oysters didn't taste fresh. My son, another Oyster connoisseur, agreed. Rating 1.5 only because they were Oysters Entree - Dry Packed Butter Scollops with Carrot Purée & Vegetable Couscous Another solid 5+. Great presentation, perfectly Prepared Grilled Scallops served atop the perfect choices to complement the Scallops. I can't wait to have this dish again. Entree - Cioppino My son rated his Italian American Fish Stew a solid 5. It, too, was served with a perfect presentation. I'll have to try it on future visits. If....I can convince myself to not have the Scallops again, The restaurant is located in the corner space of a small shopping center on the east side of Pleasure House Road, midway between its intersections with Independence & Northampton Boulevard. There is plentiful parking. It's well worth a visit even if you're in another part of the Metro. Reservations are accepted only for larger groups. I will return, most certainly very soon. I'm sorry I've been absent for so long.“

“Let me be “frank” ? The new location of Kevin’s Dog House is really great, and well worth a visit! The light filled space is clean, nicely laid-out and retains the casual Rock n Roll vibe of the previous place, but the main attraction are the delicious dogs! Kevin, Evie, and Matt run a smooth ship, and make you feel like family! ? Can’t wait to return!!“

“Jeff, the cook, made the best burger I’ve ever eaten! After biking to the Oceanfront and walking back and forth from 10th to 31st, I really was craving something hearty and lots of protein. It’s my first time eating here and Sophie is so friendly. We ordered the classic burger, but I requested mushrooms in it. My expectations were blown away. The juice from the burger were dripping down my fingers but the lettuce was so crisp. The chicken wrap we also ordered was very tasty, like you can distinguish every ingredient. Definitely coming back here and bringing more friends! Please don’t remove these two items from the menu.“

“Bill Cutrell and I eat here often. I hesitate to write a review as it’s a secret spot lol. Small and delightful place. We LOVE it. The atmosphere, wait staff, chef (Angelo) are the best of the best. Angelo is a master chef. Jennifer is a fabulous server too!! At the end we tried Stephanie’s rainbow cookies which were to die for too. I don’t know why this place doesn’t have a 5.0 but deserves it. “Beachy Beautiful inside. I absolutely love the colorful umbrellas over the tables. Makes it feel like summertime. Even during the winter it has that summer vibe. It's wonderful. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Easy to sign up and on a busy Saturday we only waited 10 minutes before getting a court for Shuffleboard. Then if you have never played (like us) they give you a nice lesson and tell you to make a few practice shots. Now lets get to the food. We got sliders, wings, waffle fries, and a hummus tray. All of it came out fast and wonderful. The sliders were perfect in every way and the perfect size. Wings had alot of flavor, they are finger licking good. Ok, you know I got a cocktail. Bahama Mama was excellent and a really good size, I highly recommend all the food and definitely order a drink. YUMMMM. Everything was wonderful. Happy staff, great location, tasty food and wonderful drinks. I can't wait to go back. I was the big winner By The Way. This is a must if your in the Virginia Beach area. Or make a special trip because it is worth it. It is such a GREAT time.“
