“We dined at The Porch over the weekend. Truthfully I would only give 3.5 stars. Don’t get me wrong, the food was delicious and the service was very good. However, the restaurant was VERY warm and we did not like that we had to swat away flies the entire time we ate. Plus we were celebrating my sons birthday who is dairy free, and they didn’t have any dairy free desserts, so we couldn’t sing happy birthday to him.“

“The food was outstanding. I've never had such a flavorful, well seasoned, perfectly cooked chicken breast. I tried my partner's snapper, and it was also scrumptious. Try the shishito peppers!! We were doted on by the staff (wait staff and manager) and it was greatly appreciated. We had to wait 15 minutes for a table which really isn't bad for a Friday night in a popular spot. “I had the grilled chicken Parmesan and it was amazing. The staff was very friendly and attentive, even a server not assigned to us checked on us to ensure we had everything we needed. They brought their “A” game. Portions were very generous. We will definitely be back to try the corned beef hash.“

“Exceptional Restaurant All Around: This may be one of the best restaurants in Virginia Beach due to their exceptional food, drinks, and service. This quality and value is perfect, we try felt like we got what we paid for.Food and Drinks: The mocktails were amazing, tasty, not overly sweet and not watery with too much ice. We ordered salmon, burgers, deviled eggs and Old Bay fries. Everyone in our party was very content with the food.Ambiance: This is a quaint, small restaurant but they somehow manage to be immensely efficient with their service, truly is amazing.“

“Came to the Lucky Oyster with family and it is our come to, when we visit! I had the Pungo Farms Chicken fried Chicken, garlic mashers, and green beans; it was the best I have ever had! We have been here at least 6 times, over 3 years, our last time it just wasn't the same, off season, the man at the fish counter was not helpful, had no customers, but really didn't want to answer any of my questions, such as;; any fresh wild caught salmon? NO, Any fresh wild caught fish, Non came in today. So we went and got a seat, our waitress had two tables, not really a happy person, eaither didn't know, or was flat, it took a while, my salad was small, my broiled fish was stuck to the dish, and over cooked. Forget about a refill on the drinks. The time before this was just OK, if this was my first visit, I would never have returned.“

Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse food speaks for itself but the next time I come back I will be requesting to be seated in his section as he made the visit beyond excellent.“

“Bill Cutrell and I eat here often. I hesitate to write a review as it’s a secret spot lol. Small and delightful place. We LOVE it. The atmosphere, wait staff, chef (Angelo) are the best of the best. Angelo is a master chef. Jennifer is a fabulous server too!! At the end we tried Stephanie’s rainbow cookies which were to die for too. I don’t know why this place doesn’t have a 5.0 but deserves it. I had the rib-eye peperonata and Bill had the Grouper marinara. Both were to die for! ❤️❤️❤️“

Friend had the shrimp salad- very large portion and yummy. My husband had shrimp and grits which was ok but not as good as mine. Lots of cherry tomatoes which weren’t necessary and not eaten. The portion sizes weren't as big for the price they charge for Mexican food in this area. The white sauce they give with chips was a disappointment. It tasted like plain mayonnaise with just a few spices added. Overall a pleasant experience and we will go again.“

“A trip to any beach is not complete without a crab boil lunch/dinner. After reading the reviews Shaking Crab was my pick and it did not disappoint!! Our waitress was wonderful, the crab legs were very good sized, and the taste of the entire boil was even better!! My family decided this was the best crab boil we’ve ever had. Even the popcorn they brought us when we sat down was delicious.“

“My boyfriend and I visited for dinner last night and absolutely loved the surf & turf tacos! The service was excellent as well - the staff were friendly and the food was brought quickly. Portions were big, so we each brought a taco home. He also enjoyed his perfect patrone margarita - I got a different one I didn’t care for as much, but they had a generous amount of alcohol. Next time I’ll try a frozen beverage, as they looked delicious.“

“Wow. Impressed. My husband loves this place. He's been multiple times with friends and his parents but I've never joined them. Yesterday was my birthday and the weather was gorgeous so we decided lunch at the oceanfront and walking the boardwalk was the way to go. We were immediately sat on the balcony at a nice table with an ocean view and you could hear the waves. Our server, Nathan, was stellar. Attentive but not annoying, prompt, efficient and super polite. He was wonderful. He asked if we wanted drink refills to go, he came to tell us he'd checked on our food and our ticket was up next after we'd waited a while, he was just doing everything right. I had the grilled chicken club with bacon, cheese, lettuce, tomato and honey mustard on a potato bun. It was legit delish. Simple, but good and came with some delicious crispy fries. Hubs also got the steamed shrimp and cesear salad. Both very good. They have butter cake - I gotta know. And key lime pie. I'll be trying and reporting on those later on.... Noms. Looks like a dive tourist trap - but actually pretty good food and menu. I'm going locals gem.“

I haven't had anything but great service, Rhiannon is a favorite and the kitchen is on point every time. The focaccia is an excellent appetizer, but you better be hungry. Bread was served as well. I had the carbonara last visit, traditional and delicious. I like a good meat ball and they come large and sweet. Excellent Caesar salad with a nice umami, enhancing the cheese and dressing with sardines. (Just two, don't freak - they don't dominate the salad.) The ambience is quiet and low key, casual dress- no worries about under-dressing.“

“My granddaughter wanted to celebrate her 11th birthday at this restaurant. The kids enjoyed the freedom of going to the buffet. Our waitress was attentive and friendly. Overall, our experience was good.The only con were the really skinny crab legs!“
