While on a bus tour of Vermont, we stopped here for a pre-planned dinner. When we arrived, we were immediately seated. The waitstaff got our drinks and directed us to the buffet. There was tossed salad, roast beef, turkey & dressing, gravy, rolls, and lots of side dishes. We were offered various desserts like cake, pie, and puddings. There wasn't a lot of staff, but they were very efficient. I highly recommend this restaurant.

My wife was really looking for a great diner breakfast. Her pancakes were good, but everything else was just okay. The corned beef hash reminded me of cat food. The coffee was weak, which in the home state of Green Mountain Coffee is pretty sad. Service was subpar. We requested glasses of water 4 times, and it never arrived. The only non-sugar sweetener was Sweet 'N' Low. Portions were huge if that's what you're looking for.

We had a very nice buffet breakfast while in town. The omelet station was a nice touch! The food was good— the fresh cut fruit was especially yummy.

Our group walked in around 4:45 PM for drinks and likely dinner. The greeter rudely told us pick one or the other, now. He directed us to the end of a diner type bar area and informed us it would be 20 minutes at least before anyone would take our drink order. We were in a bit of a state of shock at his dismissive and offensive manner, but quickly regained our senses and walked out. We happily dropped a few hundred dollars elsewhere.

Spent $30 on breakfast. I would not recommend this to anyone. There are so many other places near by that put a little TLC in there cooking

Outstanding breakfast! Wow, we drove for miles looking for an open restaurant for breakfast. This is a gem! My waffle was truly golden and the butter real! What a treat to get warm maple syrup too. Finally, that bacon ??

DO NOT EAT HERE. ZERO OR WORSE RATING. DO NOT PATRON THIS ESTABLISHMENT. it is sad but i doubt this review will impact how this restaurant is run and the owner will continue to treat customers, staff, and people in general poorly. i entered this establishment to order take out as i was driving through morrisvile. the waitress was pleasant providing me with a menu and informing me she would be right back. moments later a heavyset man came out of the back, hit the counter in front of me where i had opened the menu to look over it, and in a very rude manner stated they would not take my order and was then gone without any explanation. i was shocked at his rude behavior. i turned to the waitress to ask if i was allowed to at least use the restrooms given the mans behavior - she said yes and point them out to me. when i returned from the restroom the man was at the hostess station by the door so i asked where i could go which would serve me. he gave only one suggestion again with a belittling manner. in response to his behavior i replied that it was a poor business model to refuse customers as he was and i went to leave. he raised his voice at that point and stated it was because he was understaffed - i replied that was an excuse. he raised his voice at this point and i restated he was just giving excuses and moved to leave. at this point i had turned around and was leaving the restaurant. this heavy set man came out from behind the hostess stand, followed me out of the restaurant into the parking lot increasing yelling louder and louder at me to the point i was forced to turn around and face him. he literally put his face less then 6 inches in front of mine yelling. i admit at that point i yelled back and stood my ground. he eventually backed down and returned to the restaurant still talking. i was pissed and yelled at him as he retreated into the restaurant about how all he was giving was excuses, and i felt sorry for his staff. context: i worked in restaurants to put myself through college - a lack of staff is an excusealso i worked in security for years - i could of and looking back should of called the police on this man as his behavior and actions extended to the degree of assault under Vermont state statues. do not go here. the community and his staff deserve better. he deserves all the bad publicity he gets.

Owner was rude and confrontational. Definitely would not recommend for a family with young children- much better places in town to eat.

Staying in Stowe for a week, we decided to take the 10 mile ride to try a restaurant with a salad bar and reasonable prices. We probably spent half of what we would have spent in Stowe for a very decent meal with generous portions and a nicely stocked salad war.

The mustachioed manager unceremoniously booted us out of the restaurant when he discovered we had traveled from out of state and hadn't quarantined for two weeks before visiting the establishment. I understand policies in a time of pandemic and all, but I've never been treated like that in any restaurant anywhere. The manager's manner and people skills are desperately lacking, and this guy should maybe find some line of work that doesn't require interaction with the public. Needless to say, I'll never go to the Charlmont, even after Covid is long gone.

my family was there for the first time tonight and was told "you do know we close at 8". no they didn't know but maybe if whoever said that to them so rudely would have let them know in a nicer manner, they would have enjoyed themselves. they had traveled from Pennsylvania to enjoy the small businesses while in Vermont where they were born and raised and to be treated like that was very sad. they will never come back. hire some nice people to work there.

called day before to reserve for s party of 8 when we got there we were seated and because there was so many of us we could only order from the special board or the buffet .we were not even given menus my sister told the waitress didn't think that was fair as we were not told about it she came back with menus and only ordered a couple cups of chowder and a a couple of appetizers The salad bar was pretty good. But the buffet was something else .the prime rib was very tough hard to chew.Ham and turkey was fine Broccoli was so over cooked was mush. The desserts were ok..disappointed in the raspberry lemon cheesecake. The waitress only checked back twice This was certainly not worth the money. wished we had all left when we were told that we were going to get the menu. This is one group that wouldn't be back
