“We were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar on a busy night and were very impressed with the food and service. The bartender (can’t recall her name but she was a redhead) was amazing- super fast, efficient and friendly. We thought the food was great. Would definitely recommend”

“We appreciated that the team went out of their way to serve us even though we got in a little late (at 8:40, they close at 9). They didn’t try to shove us out the door, which was really generous.Food is great, as always.”

“We’ve just had a fantastic breakfast here. The waitress was great too! We had to try everything we had never heard of!! The biscuit with the gravy was so good. Home fries were great too. Not so sure about the grit cake. And the pancakes were divine! We won’t be eating again today!!”
“10/10We had the Cottage Club and Freddie’s Chute. Both were fantastic. Bartenders were friendly and working nonstop to make these excellent drinks. Cool vibes. Definitely come here if you’re thinking about it”

“Fabulous find. Stopped for breakfast on, the way to watch my son race⛷️I had the blue berry, Spinich & Brie toasted sandwich. It was so delicious, we stopped on the way back for lunch. I had the same thing! Everything was fresh and delicious. Spent time looking at all the treasures & handcrafted items for sale.”

“We stopped in for dinner during our trip to Stowe. The food was really good. Our waitress forgot our fries and the kitchen had closed, so that was a bummer. She did compensate us though and that was nice. Overall, it’s worth the wait if you can’t get a reservation.”

“Great food and excellent service by Desiree!”
“Pairing with The Alchemist is a great idea… always some good drinks flowing and good music playing. I’ve eaten multiple times and loved everything I’ve had. The plantain buns are unexpected, but a great touch. I don’t have any food pictures (because I can never wait long enough before digging in). Warren does such a good job pairing familiar flavors and then adding unexpected twists. Will definitely be back for more.”

“5 stars for sure!!! We come into Stowe twice a year and always dine at Salute. We’ve never been disappointed. Mason is always accommodating to find seating for us as close as possible to our desired time. Jen is a wonderful server and we’re usually fortunate to get her. Then there’s the food. Wow! Best meatballs and mozzarella apps ever and from the linguini pomodoro to the chicken or veal marsala to the vodka rigatoni and saltimboca; all delicious. We love Stowe but dining at Salute is always the icing the cake!”

“Came here after viewing the eclipse and sat at the bar. Staff were super friendly. The kitchen was understandably backed up from the post eclipse dinner rush, but they made sure we had drinks and let us know things were a little delayed (it didn't actually feel like a wait because the atmosphere was good and we had drinks).”

“I love this cafe. It's not a sit-down place as most of the business model is roasting, but the coffee is top-tier and the staff are always so friendly. I stop every time I'm in the area”

“I wish I never went here because now I have to go my entire life knowing a place this amazing exists and it’s not available to me everyday. We got ice coffees, breakfast sandwiches, chocolate chip muffins, and cinnamon rolls, and each of those items were respectively the best I’ve ever had. The pure euphoria I felt while eating their cinnamon rolls can not matched by any drug in world. I would recommend this to anyone within 10,000 miles of Stowe!”

“How do you like your pre-snowboarding breakfast? A lot of people like traditional eggs, breakfast, pancake, etc. Perhaps it's a New Yorker in me but I like my breakfast sandwiches. To the point where I will seek out a bagel with cream cheese in traditional diners and slap an order of fried egg on it. From this perspective this place was perfect. It's like a breakfast sandwich bonanza. Any kind of bread / bagel / roll / muffin you can think of with almost anything imaginable. Bacon, sausage, eggs, avocado, lox etc. Meticulously prepared and done in expeditious manner. To top it off they have a full barista and an espresso machine to rock your boat with whatever's the coffee drink of your choice. This is now our go to on our trips to Stowe and it opens super early to the point I feel bad for the ladies working there. Highly recommend you make this a stop on your schedule.”
“The Alchemist Brewery is a must visit for any beer lover! This is the only location you can order Heady on tap. They have a large green space outside which is great for kids to run around on. Their tour is one of the best I have every been on! Make sure your grab a few 4-packs to go!”

“After working here- I wouldn't recommend. First of all, employees don't recieve the credit card tips after being promised tips. Second of all, nothing is made in house except for the guacamole and pico. Not authentic mexican food of any sort. Canned enchilada sauce. Stuffed Polblano peppers come in a plastic bag. The owners have their own sauce they ask for on enchiladas. It tastes much better than what they serve the public. The owners Lu and David are dirty and steal tips from their employees who are Lu's own "people". Not to mention the place is far from up to health code!”
“Awesome selection of beers, cheese and wine. Really casual and laid-back. Come support a locally owned small business! We visit every time we come to Stowe”

“Had a wonderful experience. Our server was so fantastic. She is a GEM. Host was great, food was incredible. Absolutely NO complaints. I got the roasted chicken and my husband got the turkey dinner. We also each had a cocktail which were FANTASTIC—i got the grapefruit cosmo and he got the eclipse margarita. This was the perfect honeymoon dinner. We really appreciate The Whip and will be back.”

“Best Thai restaurant so far! As an Asian myself, the Flavor was authentic and not lacking- it’s the real deal, not watered-down/fake ingredients. The price was a bit high, but it’s the best Thai food quality you can find in the area. Top-notch. Server was super kind!”
“great ice cream! great customer service! definitely recommend stopping in!”
“This is THE spot and that is a hill I’m willing to die on. I expected a low key hotel bar but what I experienced was so much more. I truly felt transported to full on winter apres ski cozy hangouts with friends/family. This space is plentiful with a variety of comfortable and ample seating along with great decor and ambiance from staff and patrons alike. We were fortunate enough to visit on a night with live music which made the experience all the more unforgettable. While our order was simple, white wine and a s’mores board, it was fantastic. This will for sure be a crowd favorite !”

“Ordered takeout here late on a Sunday night. It was quick, and the bartender recognized me from the phone when I walked it. We got the Vermont Woodchuck and chicken tenders - both were packed well and delicious.Only tiny suggestion is to throw some napkins and silverware into the bag for anyone staying in a hotel.Atmosphere seemed cool and would love to come back and sit inside!”
“Fantastic brunch on Sunday, sweet owner Janet kills it, nothing in Stowe does breakfast like this. Good vibes evenings, friendly locals, sweet dog friends and all the beers.”

“This is a private club. I've seen a lot of reviews complaining about this not being advertised, so I want to say that first and foremost. The atmosphere is relaxed, light and airy, the entire space is always impeccably clean and the staff is friendly, knowledgeable and professional. The food is fresh and the quality is always excellent. The dress is country club casual. Parking is limited, but valet parking is available and free.”
“Everything was great. Above all, CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN! It’s definitely modernized and well kept. We were in the main building. The pool looked wonderful though we didn’t have a chance to use it. Free breakfast each morning off choices made for us, not a buffet. King bed was very comfortable and chair and footrest next to the bed also great. Television had more channels than I can remember on a hotel television. The location is on the main road that goes into the shopping/dining district but a few miles away so it’s quiet. The beginning of the famed Recreation Trail is a very short walk from the hotel. The Wi-Fi was the best of three places we stayed on this trip. Shannon, the proprietor is terrific. I’ll definitely come back here. Parking is free and close to the building entrance.”

“Great place to stop for some fries and a beer to rest the legs. You order drinks direct from the bar and food from the order window and then they bring food to you. The fries are amazing, cooked perfectly. The Flatbreads were also a big hit at our table. We like this place much better than the other bar down at the base, much better vibe.”

“Absolutely gorgeous place with views and beautiful architecture nestled in the historic and iconic Von Trapp Estate. Before going any further, a few important recommendations for newcomers: 1. Make reservations. You may make them on the Yelp app. 2. If you don't have reservations, come over early. Like opening time... 3. If your beer taste excludes anything that is not an IPA, you may be disappointed. Their brews are by and large, alpine-style Pilsners 4. They get really really busy. Tables outside the bar areas are for full service only We came here on Stowe's ski season closing weekend, on a sunny day, meaning that by 1030 our quads were screaming in agony from skiing the soft snow that began to feel like cement. With time on our hands, we decided to have lunch at this idyllic property, still in the hands of the original family. We arrived here and were at the door at 11:15 for an 1130 reservation, luckily being one of the first customers walking through the doors. The building is quite expansive, with an imposing alpine architecture that compliments the beautiful Stowe countryside. Outside, the groups of people playing frisbee golf added to the ambiance. We were seated in a beautiful covered porch that winds around the property, with stunning views. Service was flawless, with the waiter filling us on some of the historical details of the property. An advantage of being early, as the place was quickly becoming a beehive of activity. We began our lunch with the Bavarian Pretzels which came with a delicious mustard and I tried the Chicken Schnitzel sandwich washed it down with a West Coast Pilsner, which turned out to be their hoppiest selection, approximately resembling an IPA. Superb time here. The gift shop at the entrance is worth a visit.”

“My friend and I stopped here the day before the eclipse. Both of us had Tavern Burgers with fries. The waiter (Mike) said he couldn't get mine rare, but it came less than medium rare and I was pleased. My friend also enjoyed hers, which was medium rare (as she requested). The fries were crisp on the outside and tasty. Service was fast and pleasant. Casual atmosphere with TVs set to sporting events and a gameroom. I'd go back if I were in the area.”

“Lovely little coffeehouse on the grounds of the Von Trapp Family Lodge. Breakfast sandwiches are freshly made and delicious. Pastries are made each day and are large and yummy. Coffee and tea are complimentary to guests staying on-site in the morning. Prices are generally higher than average, but views from the back porch can't be beat.”

“We come from Connecticut, I did stop by here for coffee some donuts etc, the girl at the register was very rude and did not ask if I wanted hot or cold coffee, so yes she did make.mistake and had to re make our coffees to hot. I was charged for ice coffees and was never even offered my change back, I had to tell her my self to not worry about it. Total was 3 employees and neither one had smile ore happy face.”

“Really cute hotel located in the center of everything. Shops meant as well as plenty of restaurants within walking distance. They also have a restaurant on site that was pretty good. “From the West, and taking a road trip across the East Coast. BEST flat white that I've had across the entire trip so far! From Connecticut, to Massachusetts, to Vermont - this is the best flat white with oat milk I've had, and can't wait to come back. Espresso is balanced and the milk was CREAMY, frothed so well. Thank you Black Cap for doing yourselves a favor by hiring Abby!”

“We had the pleasure of experiencing Greek night at this establishment, and it was an absolute delight. The buffet-style setup offered a tantalizing array of Greek dishes, all served hot and bursting with flavor. From savory rice to succulent lamb and stuffed cabbage, each bite was delicious!! The option to dine in or take out made it convenient for any occasion. The friendly customer service added to the overall positive experience. At $12.99 per pound, the value was exceptional for the quality and variety offered. The cleanliness and welcoming ambiance of the restaurant sealed the deal for us. Very casual! Great for an easy meal after skiing, hiking, or biking! Without a doubt, one of the best meals we have had in Stowe! 5 stars!”
