Their plant based options are always incredibly creamy with interesting flavours and best of all - everything doesn’t taste like coconut! We make excuses to be downtown just to get ice cream! The best ice cream in Canada. We tried everything on our trip through Canada. It's as good as the best ice cream in Italy or Argentina! Where can you still get bold varieties that are very balanced and all in a waffle that is freshly baked in-house? A dream!

I absolutely love the gelato at Cold Front. The variety of flavours and locally sourced ingredients are fabulous. My favourite is the Chocolate Trio. Smooth, creamy and unforgettable! Go there immediately if you are in Nanaimo. You won’t regret it.
Good ice cream but unfriendly staff took away from the experience! Barely spoke to us or made eye contact, felt pretty un-welcome.

Went in today and asked for a pistachio, and the card reader wouldn’t work, it just said welcome. They tried everything, unplugging it, restarting, but it wouldn’t work. So they made the ice cream and handed it to me on the house. I was super super thankful and said ill pay them back next time. Wonderful ice cream, and wonderful service. Thanks guys!

Got multiple parts of my order wrong. Completely wrong flavours and a cup instead of a cone. The only reason it’s not 1 star is because the ice cream tasted alright.

I like the ice cream and appreciate the plant based choices HOWEVER the customer service is REALLY bad. I found both the girls working today really rude - neither of them acknowleged me saying thank you or smiled. Essentially I left Cold Front feeling as though I had troubled the staff by asking them to do their job??? So I can spend money at the business I am making an effort to support?? I know it sounds weird to say but they may be in need a serious attitude check ... ?
