“Wild Culture Bakery recently provided the bread and desserts for our Christmas Eve dinner. Jean went out of her way to ensure we had our order when some of the ferries from the Lower Mainland were held up by weather. The whole grain sourdough was hearty and delicious, perfect for sharing around the table. We chose to slice it ourselves, but Wild Culture will also do this for you on request. The sourdough cinnamon bun was scrumptious. The lemon tart had just the right tanginess to sweetness ratio; the butter tart with raisins perfectly melted in your mouth; and the mince tart was so, so good. The pastry on these was so fresh, so deliciously crumbly … We’ll be returning to enjoy these fantastic baked goods served by the friendliest of staff whenever we’re in the area. “The new owners have kept all the old favourites that the customers like, as well as adding new items such as chocolate covered carrot cake bites that were a big hit at Christmas, and delicious fruit pies and cakes that are as light as a feather with European style icing that melts in your mouth. Also, every week new Indian items are added, such as special soups with a splash of Curry that are exposing us to exciting new flavours. Extra tables have been added inside and out, because more and more customers want to sit, enjoying a coffee and a pastry, or a delicious egg bite or a bowl of soup of the day.
